Internal combustion engine for Mars and Moon vehicles
Rachůnek, Radek ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a mathematical model of the internal combustion engine for vehicles used in space missions. It includes a summary of the historical development and the possible future of the vehicles. It describes the external influences acting on the engine, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of using an internal combustion engine. A separate chapter focuses on fuel selection with respect to the availability of local resources. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the development of a mathematical model according to a sample real engine. Here, the step-by-step process of modifications to create the engine model is described, considering the information from the previous chapters. The thesis includes an evaluation of the internal combustion engine to see if it represents a suitable alternative to current powertrains.
Dieselgas Engines
Březina, Tomáš ; Böhm, Michael (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of Dieselgas engines. The first part work is focused on the history and development of engines and motor fuels. The second part deals with diesel engines, a description of the engine operating cycle, fuel injection system, types of diesel fuel, engine efficiency and emissions. The following chapter provides an overview of gaseous fuels suitable for passenger and public transport. Of these fuels, the two most commonly used are further elaborated. The fourth chapter deals with the use of gaseous fuels in diesel engines, the possibility of conversion of these engines, both by conversion to petrol and without this change. The last chapter deals with the effect on consumption and emissions of dual fuel engines.
Gaseous fuels for SI engines
Přibyl, Zdeněk ; Czakó, Alexander (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is processed a survey of alternative gaseous fuels for spark-ignition combustion engines. The properties and production, the most important components, infrastructure of service station of specific fuel are stated for these fuels. There are defined the advantages and disadvantages of each fuel. The comparison of CNG and diesel is made. The use of alternative gaseous in the future is outlined at the end of this bachelor thesis.
Ekonomické aspekty provozu vozidel na alternativní pohony
Vajdík, Radek
The bachelor thesis follows up an analysis of particular alternative propulsion systems together with their economic evaluation from the point of everyday usage. Included there are the basic propulsion systems, which are simultaneously the most used types of systems. The thesis focuses primarily on the economic point of view of purchase and usage of cars with such propulsion systems. Secondarily, the thesis focuses on the com-parison of individual propulsion systems, and on the confrontation with the traditional ones. The conclusion of the thesis should provide an answer to a question: is it worth to invest to a vehicle with an alternative propulsion system?
Rozvoj alternativních pohonů a paliv osobních automobilů ve světě a ČR
Pukl, Zdeněk
The bachelor thesis is focused on alternative drives and fuels in automobiles. The first part of the thesis contains theoretical distribution of alternative fuels and drives focusing on fuels made from biomass. Further the work is focused on construction of modifed vehicles with combustion engines, construction of hybrid cars and electric vehicles. The last part of the thesis is a technical, economical and legislative comparison.
Hodnocení paliv pro spalovací motory ve vztahu k životnímu prostředí
Vančatová, Šárka
The name of this diploma thesis is „Evaluation of combustion engine fuel and its influence on the environment”. At the beginning there is a brief history of fuels. After that there is a chapter which divides fuels according to their state thus they are separate to three main types (solid state, gaseous state and liquid state). There are described main characteristics in the next part of this thesis which are heat of combustion, bulk density, dosage, volatility, resistance to detonation burning and mainly octane and cetane number. There are described currently used fuels for combustion engines right after the characteristic of fuels. These fuels are divided to fuels made of petroleum (gasoline, diesel, and LPG), fuels made of natural gas (CNG, and LNG), biofuels (bioethanol, biomethanol, vegetable oils – FAME and synthetic diesel fuel) and there is also an independent group of hydrogen. Thereafter are described European emission standards. The practical part of the thesis is focused on an analysis of previously mentioned fuels and there is a biggest focus on production of carbon dioxide. Other emissions are evaluated as well such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and NOx gases. The analysis is done on classical fuels like gasoline and diesel and also on alternative fuels such as CNG, LPG, E85, FAME and hydrogen. In the end there are tables and graphs which contains production of flue gases.
Vliv spalování paliva CNG na technicko-ekonomické parametry vozidla
Strnadel, Miroslav
This diploma thesis "The effect of CNG fuel combustion on the technical and economic parameters of the vehicle" deals with the use of alternative fuel of compressed natural gas for road vehicles. The thesis is divided into 4 main parts. In the first part there is a literary review, which deals with the history of the use of gaseous fuels in the world and in the Czech lands, as well as the characteristics and construction part of the car modified for CNG operation. The second part is an experimental measurement of performance parameters of two Škoda Octavia Combi III vehicles with a CNG, diesel and petrol engine at dynamometer testing laboratory, which is also described in this chapter. In the third part the results of experimental measurement are processed and commented and both vehicles are compared from the technical and economical point of view. As is evident from the measurement results, in a vehicle that is already equipped with CNG system from manufacturer combustion CNG does not have a negative effect on the engine's performance parameters and even more constant engine operation can be observed. Vehicles with CNG system are also more economical and ecological than vehicles combusting conventional fuels. The last part of this thesis is devoted to a discussion, where the measured results are compared with the results in an expert article dealing with the same topic.
Alternativní pohony silničních vozidel
Procházka, Jan
Submitted bachelor thesis compares available alternative drives in motor vehicles. The first part is focused on conventional and alternative drives. Next part analyses the conception of cars which use gaseous fuels like LPG or CNG. In addition, conceptions of electric and hybrid drives are introduced. Finally, technical and economic parameters are discussed using tables and graphical data. In the summary, the evaluation of available drive sis presented and choice the most appropriate available drives when is used aspects like economics, ecology and high technology.
Concept of the aircraft CNG engine
Šmerda, Ondřej ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with comparsion and rating the compressed natural gas as an aircraft piston engine fuel. An information search of conventional fuels and differences of the fuel systems for AVGAS and CNG is included. Next part describes the aircraft and its engine on which is the mathematic model based. After that perfomance and consumption data are calculated for both fuels and the results are then compared. At the end of the thesis, a design of the CNG fuel system with components selection is described.
Determination of emissions and harmful particles of exhaust gases of CNG, petrol and diesel vehicles
Rozsíval, Adam ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with an analyses of emission and harmful particles of exhaust fumes of automobiles with an environmental impact. More precisely, it describes the basic characteristics of current fuel types and emission produced by internal combustion engines. Next, it deals with the measures and possibilities of decreasing car traffic emission with respect to environmental impact. It also describes the current European standards for emission and the systems of the cars that are able to decrease emission. The work also deals with the measuring of emission and the methods that are used. According to the measuring methods, the analysis of exhalation is done and it is based on the data of the real car fleet. Values of the emission analyses are compared. The financial aspect is a part of the analyses.
