Court case Catherine Karygk versus Prague New Town

Catherine Karygk conducted lawsuits against Prague New Town, which lasted more than twenty years and were related to the problems with the people from Svejpravice. She inherited land in the villages of Svejpravice, Chvaly, Babice and Lhota. However, Svejpravice was a holding of the Prague New Town, which was confirmed by an Imperial Charter by King George of Poděbrady, Vladislav of Jagello and Ferdinand I. Although this village was under the administration of the New Town Council, private persons also owned land there and one of them was Catherine Karygk. She repeatedly filed suits against several people in this village who caused damage to her property. Another problem was the suit for the village of Svejpravice itself as it appears from available documents that the Prague New Town laid claim to a bigger part of the village than was in its holding. The cause of these disputes was the removal of boundary-stones marking the plots of the different owners and the absence of marker stones which would show the location of the removed boundary-stones. Numerous and repeated complaints by Mrs. Catherine show that Prague New Town either did not take much note of them or that their subjects did not respect the decision of the New Town Council and Chamber Court. Students of the Unity of Brethern at the beginning of the 17th century or priests-to-be from the archive of Matouš Konečný

In the course of reconstruction works in the area of the former cloister Na Karmeli in Mladá Boleslav in August 2006 the builders found two wooden boxes. The boxes were buried under the backfilling material of the arch of the cloister's ground floor. They have preserved the so-called Archive of Matouš Konečný (1572-1622), one of the last bishops of the Unity of Brethren before the Battle of White Mountain in 1620. The unilateral correspondence dating back to the first two decades of the 17th century constitutes the main part of the excavated archival documents. The correspondence which was addressed to Matouš Konečný is composed partly of letters from students (or to be precise priests-to-be of the Unity of Brethren). These letters constitute the basis of the submitted diploma thesis. Firstly, the author offers the basic characteristic of the mentioned archival findings and resumes hitherto scholarship related to the theme. Then the main core of the thesis is focused on the education of priests-to-be in the Unity of Brethren. This education took place in Brethren houses and was provided by priests. Obrana národa byla jednou z řady odbojových organizací, které působily za okupace na území bývalého Československa. Bývá zařazována do tradičního trojlístku centrálních nekomunistických organizací- ON,PÚ a PVVZ. Oproti ostatním dvěma převážně civilním organizacím to byla převážně organizace vojenská. Zasahovala svojí organizační strukturou z centra až do malých městeček a vesnic. Za svůj hlavní cíl měla obnovu ČSR v před mnichovských hranicích. Snažila se systematicky připravovat na ozbrojené vojenské vystoupení a tomuto úkolu věnovala největší pozornost. V prvním roce okupace byla bezesporu největší a nejaktivnější organizací domácího od boje. Tato práce by chtěla alespoň malým dílem přispět k poznání aktivity a půso bení ON v prvním roce oku pace. Celá práce je rozdělena do čtyř částí. První část je věnována počátkům odboje. V krátkosti je vylíčeno formování a působení ostatních (civilních) organizací domácího odbojePÚ, PVVZ a založení vojenské odbojové organizace Obrana národa. Druhá část pojednává o vytváření ON, o organizační a personální výstavbě a formování rámcové podzemní armády. Práce si klade za cíl poskytnout ucelený pohled na problematiku J2EE návrhových vzorů zejména z pohledu praktického využití a jejich přínosu pro návrh a vývoj softwaru v prostředí Javy Enterprise Edition. V první části se věnuji seznámení se základními pojmy, na nichž celý dokument staví, což umožní čtenáři lépe nahlédnout do praktické části. Druhá část Vzory a J2EE zmiňuje celou řadu doporučení, které vykrystalizovali v průběhu několika let vývoje pod J2EE a dále zmiňuje nejrůznější strategie pro řešení celé řady problémů, s nimiž se softwaroví vývojáři denně setkávají. Dále následuje katalog 21 J2EE návrhových vzorů s jejich detailním popisem a možnostmi praktického využití. Klíčovou a nedílnou součástí této práce je ukázkový příklad, který ilustruje využití návrhových vzorů v reálném prostředí na reálném projektu. Toto propojení teorie s praxí ukazuje jak lze aplikovat návrhové vzory na skutečný problém. Zhodnocení přínosu vzorů pak uzavírá tuto práci a dává si za cíl objektivně zhodnotit světlé i stinné stránky dané problematiky.

Criminal defences in Czech and Irish criminal law

Criminal defences in Czech and Irish criminal law This thesis deals with the analysis of individual elements of criminal defences under the Czech and Irish criminal legal statutes with respect to the conclusions, which are therefrom drawn in theory and practice. The aim of this thesis is to render an overview concerning the distinctions and similarities in understanding, importance and operating of the defences in different law systems, rather than to present an exhaustive commentary on all legal institutes which exclude illegality and as such come into mind. Regarding the fact that Czech and Irish systems of law are subsumed under different legal systems, particular institutes of criminal defences cannot be based on the same rules, principles and theoretical grounds. It shall be noted, that while Czech criminal law is mainly to be found in a single piece of legislation known as the Criminal Law Act, Irish criminal law on the other hand not only has a separate statutory legislation, but also mainly depends on common law.
