Family Enterprising in a Chosen Region

This thesis focus on the theoretical aspects of family enterprising and running a family business in the Czech Republic. The first part deals with the history of family enterprising and the importance of family businesses in the economy and society. This part also describes the specificity of family firms, advantages and diadvantages and common problems in family-owned business. The theoretical part of the thesis also analyse the stability of the family firms in recession and the challenges of a family business in Czech Republic. The second part of the thesis contains four czech family firms' case studies.

The public diplomacy and nation branding of small and medium states

In my thesis I will compare the public diplomacy and national branding of the Czech Republic and Switzerland. The goal of the thesis is to define, explore and evaluate these fields for both countries. This paper will focus on identifying different aspects of nation branding in these two countries and will aim to evaluate the strategy and sketch the recommendations. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. In the first part the author defines and describes public diplomacy as general term. The second part is dedicated to the public diplomacy of small and medium states. The last chapter focuses on the comparison of public diplomacy and nation branding of the Czech Republic and lesson that could be learned from Switzerland. The goals of this chapter are as follows. To compare aspects and specifics of these two states and evaluate specific activities developed by governments to improve the perception of their country by the foreign public.

Sub-Regional Cooperation and European Integration. The Role of the Visegrad Cooperation and Baltic Cooperation in the Architecture of the European Union

The aim of this work is to analyse the mutual relationship of sub-regional cooperation structures and the dominant integration structure: the European Union. We follow the evolution of mutual relationship between Visegrad Cooperation and the EU from the establishment of such sub-regional cooperation structure until today. Similarly, we analyse the relationship of the Baltic Cooperation and the EU. Later, we compare the evolution of both cooperation types on the background of their integration into the EU and thus identify their specifics. In the final part, we widen the research scope on the whole European Union and even more on the European continent and we try to identify and categorize existing cooperation and integration structures in this wider European region. As a conclusion we introduce brief characteristics of sub-regional cooperation and integration process in Europe in the relation to the EU and suggest future development.

Italy: Economy and Regions in EU Context

The aim of this thesis is the analysis of the position of Italy from the socio-economic point of view in the EU in context of its most important aspect -- differentiation of the regions of North-Centre and South. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the comparative profile of Italy in EU including the causes and the development of the Italian social and economic specifics -- the high public debt, the slow economic growth rate and labour market problems. The basic macroeconomic and labour market indicators are used to determine the position of Italy in EU. The second chapter is aimed at the analysis of the primary causes, development and the current state of the Italian dualism on a theoretical level. The third chapter is dedicated to the description of Italian dualism by means of the concrete socio-economic indicators and deals with the comparison on the regional level. The part of this chapter deals with the efectiveness of application of EU regional policy in Italy.

Sustainable development as a key strategy to solve problem of brown coal mining in the Sokolov region

Bachelor's thesis describes the concept of sustainable development in theory and practice, practice focuses on the region of Sokolov and its specifics. The goal is to determine how the Sokolov region through the strategy of sustainable development is facing the impacts of the mining of brown coal. It analyzes in particular the impact of mining activities in the region and using the concept of sustainable development is looking for possible solutions and recommendations for its development. Main benefits of this work is a case study in which, through a questionnaire survey collected the views of local actors in different areas of sustainable development. The regional analysis and research findings underlying final recommendations for the future development of the region.

Organization Analysis of Tourism in the South Bohemian Region

The goal of this submitted thesis is the analysis and evaluation of tourism organizations and management in the South Bohemian Region. This work is structured into five basic parts. The first part describes the conception of destination management and its specifics. Then theoretical predispositions of tourism organizations (legal forms, ways of financing) are described. Basic characteristics of tourism in this region and the strategy of tourism's development in the South Bohemian Region is determined in the third part. The fourth part researches the organizations of tourism in the defined area. The evaluation of destination management and tourism organization is implemented in the last part.

Strategy for human resources and training from the regional scale

The submitted doctorate thesis is focused on the problematic of strategy and human resources development from the perspective of a superior administrative district. The thesis base comes from theoretical concepts of human resources development, which are mostly focused on a business environment. The position of the author on human resources management had to ground on various economic theories, such as the theory of strategie adjustment, theory of affinity groups and politics, and the theory of change processes. Creation of a construct of strategy management and human resources development comprises the base for analysis of human resources management policy. Education represents an important factor in growth of state, reglOns, enterprises and organizations. National system of qualification is necessary to apply to Liberec region, as well as the market tendency and specifi~ation of school education and additional providers. The thesis concentrates on analysis of results of European grant programs, specifically on Operation Programs of Human Resources development in years 2004 to 2006. This thesis focuses on marketing communication on internet, also on specifics of internet as a communication medium and shows a wide range of possibilities how to use various online tools in marketing communication. Second part of this publication describes and analyses web presentation of Pfanner company which is evaluated according to given criteria. Recommendations are given on the basis of this analysis and comparation with competition.

The risky behavior of adolescent development and the possibility of secondary prevention in Klatovském region

Bachelor´s work deals with the risk behaviour of adolescent development taking into account the possibility of secondary prevention of this behavior on Klatovy region. In the theoretical part of the works is first described the whole period of adolescence. Following the developmental characteristics of adolescence with additional chapters deal with risk behaviour and its prevention, in particular the prevention of secondary. Part of the Bachelor´s work is a research probe, whose main objective is to map the institutions and experts, national and non-State in Klatovy region, on which the school may contact or refer their students and their legal counsel for assistance i addressing risk behavior. Research the probe is implemented in the form of a written inquiry at the secondary schools in the Klatovy region. Presentation of the results of the subsequent discussion are listed in the practical part of work.
