Analysis of books and magazines supply chain and the sale organisation
MACHARTOVÁ, Martina
Supply chain is a network of companies involved in products and services distribution ranging from the raw materials acquisition on one side to the customers satisfaction on the other side. It concerns a whole system composed from producers, processors, distributors, sellers (retailers or wholesalers) and customers. The main focus of this thesis is a quest for general relations and differences between logistic chain of books and that of magazines. At first the books supply and distribution chain ranging from the author to the final customer is analysed. In this supply chain no redundant links or no distribution channels are found. In the other part of the work the supply and distribution chain of periodicals ranging from the author to the final customer is analysed. Neither in this chain are redundant links, we can even say that this chain is more elaborate and more simple in the distribution of the press to sellers than the preceding one. Both of these chains work on similar basis. From the very beginning to the very end they use almost the same links of the chain. The principal difference between these two chains is the nature of the goods to which all the distribution and sales operations are related. Another important difference is a durability of magazines and books on the shop counters. The books are delivered to bookshops continuously during several months, on the contrary, magazines issues depend on their periodicity. This difference leads to the varied use of warehouses. One of the aims of the thesis is also the analysis of the information, material and finance flow among the links of the chain.
Evaluation of the best method of inventory management (in different company conditions)
POHANKOVÁ, Václava
The aim of bachelor´s work was to evaluate current way of supply management of chosen company, to propose own system of supply management and evaluation of gained outcomes with regards to further development of the company. Current split up of stock into three groups {--} strategic stock, aggregated stock and order stock I found out as absolutely suitable. As for the strategic material (wood) the company does not have other option but accept the market rules with worldwide short supply and rather invest its attention to exploring new sources of wood. It is also absolutely correct not to create any stock of materials which can be ordered after the order from the customer. Based on above mentioned the application of proposed method is suitable for aggregated items only.  Safety stock I propose to set up a safety stock with regards to possibility of items exhaustion within delivery time from the supplier. The company´s philosophy is to maximally meet the customer´s demand and that is why no delays in production are acceptable. Another reason for creating safety stock is that the company uses new technologies without necessary experience and therefore it is very hard to guess acceptable stock level.  EOQ {--} optimal order quantity This model allows decreasing of total expenditures connected with stock holding. Using of this method leads to optimalization of total amount of issued orders and ordered quantity per each order. Implementation of this system would decrease costs in total amount of 853.744 czech crowns. I would recommend to orientate itself to negotiation with suppliers and to require quantity discount in case of increased ordered quantities. At the end I would like to sum up that the company is very well settled in the market, still in phase of grow and expansion. Its outcomes show excellent level of management.

Červenka, Daniel ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Kořenář, Václav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to find the appropriate manner for inventory control of a small e-shop. The greatest emphasis is placed on the nonseasonal goods. Any model which respect all needs of the shop was not found. From a series of models the stochastic model with continuous demand was chosen as the most applicable. Adjustment of the cost function, change the delivery time from constant to fluid, determination of optimal inventory level and other modifications brought the model more in reality. This allows to find the optimal model solution for each stock item which can be reasonably well met. Simultaneously the foundation were laid for post-optimization analysis, by which all the process of inventory control can be streamlined.
