Quantification of Basic and Special Nursing Performance on Standard Units of the Children's Department
SOROKANETS, Viktorie
Abstract Quantification of General and Special Nursing Procedures at Standard Units of Paediatric Departments The present thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the history of paediatrics, training and competencies of paediatric nurses, contemporary paediatric care and the range of provided services. There is a separate part describing general and special nursing care. Due to a limited scope of the bachelor's thesis, attention was paid to principal activities of paediatric nurses. Within the first part of the research survey two objectives and five hypotheses were established. The work aimed to inventory general and special nursing care at standard units of paediatric departments. The following hypotheses were set: H1: The most frequent general nursing procedure is patient personal hygiene care. H2: The most frequent special nursing procedure in the "Medication Administration" category is the oral (per os) administration of medication. H3: The most frequent special nursing procedure in the "Monitoring" category is the monitoring of body temperature. H4: The most frequent special nursing procedure in the category of "Special and Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures" is biological sampling. H5: The most frequent special nursing procedure in the category of "Other Patient Related Activities" is the reception of a patient. The research survey was carried out as a quantitative survey. The research sample consisted of 49 nurses of standard paediatric departments at five selected hospitals, namely the hospitals in České Budějovice (Nemocnice České Budějovice, a. s.), Prachatice (Nemocnice Prachatice, a. s.), Strakonice (Nemocnice Strakonice, a. s.), Písek (Nemocnice Písek, a. s.) and Český Krumlov (Nemocnice Český Krumlov, a. s.). The second part of the survey focused on assessing the selected nursing procedures. General nursing procedures included meal preparation, feeding and diapering a baby. Special nursing care included oral (per os) and rectal (per rectum) medication administration, also intravenous injection, infusion and its monitoring, assisting in examinations, blood and faeces sampling, taking part in the round and patient handover. Each procedure was measured ten times and the result was counted up and divided by their number in order to obtain the average value. The hypotheses were tested by means of the Kruskal-Wallis test where the mean rank value was set. On the basis of the test the set hypotheses were either confirmed or disconfirmed. In the area of general nursing care where three categories were compared, the highest value (463.68) was obtained for the nutrition care. The first hypothesis was therefore not confirmed. In the area of special nursing care, the "Medication Administration" category, the highest value (403.07) was obtained for medication preparation and oral administration. Again, the hypothesis was not confirmed. The hypothesis in the "Monitoring" category was confirmed since the highest value (539) was obtained for body temperature monitoring. Following, there are "Special and Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures" where the hypothesis was not confirmed as well since the most frequent procedure is the preparation of a child for an examination (662.21). Based on the arithmetic mean calculation in the last category of "Other Patient Related Activities" where the highest value (8.09) was obtained for filling out nursing diagnoses, the hypothesis was not confirmed as well. The results of the observation part served for creating a draft of a software application aimed at calculation of the nursing load in a monitored number of patients. This application is ready for further development.

Meaning of communication skills for students of nursery expressed by themself
DRÁBIKOVÁ, Martina
In this work communication skills of students of a bachelor program of nursing of the second and the third year at Faculty of Health and Social Studies, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice were assessed. Communication skills are important both for successful study at university and for successful work in healthcare services. They especially important for nurses who build very close relationships with patients. There are four parts of the bachelor thesis: 1. theory of communication including details of communication process, function of communication and verbal and non-verbal communication; 2. communication in healthcare services with emphasis to nursing; 3. teaching of communication during the first year study of nursing and 4. quantitative investigation of communication skills of the students using questionnaires of nursing followed by discussion. There were two aims: 1. to reflect self-evaluation of the communication skills by the students; 2. to evaluate practical applicability of the communication skills acquired during university study. Two hypotheses were formulated: 1. The students consider their own communication skills to be good.; 2. The students apply the acquired communication skills in their work. The results obtained in this work can give a feedback to the teachers of communication skills in healthcare system.

ECG Signal Distortion Measures
Požár, Pavel ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with electrocardiogram and its distortion, which causes errors, due to which a doctor can make a wrong diagnosis. In the theoretical part electrocardiogram is briefly described, further theory of wavelet transform, introduction to the signal compression and some information about ECG delineation. Methods used for the signal evaluation and therefore determination of the distortion size are described in the main theoretical part. This thesis contains known methods and also a method of own design based on the ECG delineation. Some of the described methods are checked in the practical part. These methods are tested for two different compression algorithms, which cause various distortion. In the final part distortion was tested on the influence on setting the wrong diagnosis.

Analysis of external environment of a chosen company
SLÍPKOVÁ, Pavla
The topic of my thesis is ?Analysis of external environment of a chosen company?. In the theoretical part, basic keywords of the given problem are explained and used analyses are described. In the practical part, theoretical knowledge is applied, using analyses of external environment for the chosen company. The analysis of external environment is a crucial component of a strategic analysis, which leads to setting the strategy. Forecasting of trends, understanding to changes in business environment and considering the future development of the company are the biggest advantages of the analyses. Application of the PEST analysis and of the Porter?s model of competitive environment and consecutive evaluation of the position of the company on the market are the aims of the thesis. To solve the problem, summary of results and suggestion of measures, taken to reach prosperity of the company and to create a competitive advantage on the market, are used. Two preconditions necessary for the further development of the company were found after summarizing and synthetizing all results of the executed analyses: ? need of investments into scientific and technical development, ? substantial strengthening of marketing activities. The main recommendation made to the company included orientation to the differentiating strategy that could differentiate the company from strong competition and could help to strengthen its market position.

Possibilities of preparation combined drinks from selected fruits
Zábranská, Miroslava ; Vránová, Dana (referee) ; Vespalcová, Milena (advisor)
This thesis deals with the preparation of the combined alcoholic beverages based on wine and fruit juices. The fruit juices were obtained from the selected fruits as honeysuckle, mulberry, dogwood, rose hips, elderberry, buckthorn and aronia. Some chemical properties e. g. total fenolics, total anthocyanins, vitamin C and sacharides were determined for characterization of the mentioned juices. As well as chemical parameter of juices, the same chemical parameters were determined on wine. There were prepared three sets of combined beverages from wine and juices. The two best evaluated beverages were chosen on the basis of their sensory evaluation. In the end, the same chemical properties were determined in both particular juices and resulting beverages.

The Interpretation Process betwen Czech and Portuguese Language: an Approach Towards Selected Linguistic Problems
Hrušovská, Petra ; Jindrová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Hricsina, Jan (referee)
The present thesis, The Interpretation Process between Czech and Portuguese Language: an Approach Towards Selected Linguistic Problems, analyses the two languages belonging to different language families from the interpreter's point of view. The Introduction gives rea- sons for choosing the topic and outlines the general structure of the thesis. Chapter 1 (Lan- guages and Interpreting) delineates theoretical issues pertinent to language typology accord- ing to Skalička, comparing the structures of Czech and Portuguese, and outlines a basic intro- duction to interpreting. The principal subject is defined as selected linguistic problems that intepreters have to deal with when working with Czech and Portuguese. Chapter 2 (Transla- tion Procedures) focuses on methods and procedures of translation, in particular those pro- posed by Vinay and Darbelnet. Chapter 3 (Morphology and Syntax) gives a contrastive analy- sis with sample translations of substantives, adjectives, pronouns and articles in both lan- guages. The last chapter (lexicology) describes some phenomena related to lexical questions (interferences, synonymy and phraseology). The thesis is concluded by stressing the role of context in interpreting, leading eventually to some limitations for the analysis. Key words: Czech, Portuguese, Typology...

Cooperation of Primary Schools and the Offices for Social-Legal Protection of Children
KUBIŠOVÁ, Lucie
The bachelor thesis deals with cooperation between primary schools and authorities of social and legal protection of children. Social and legal protection of children is provided to children whose parents fail to fulfil the obligations defined in parental responsibility or fail to pursue or abuse the rights defined in parental responsibility. Social and legal protection is also provided to children leading immoral or shiftless way of life or regularly escaping from their parents. The general notification obligation assigns schools to notify local authorities of communities with wide competences of fact that indicate that a child requires social and legal protection. The goal of the thesis is to find out how a primary school cooperates with a children social-law care department in relation to social pathologic behaviour in primary school children. Two research questions were set to reach the goal. I tried to find out in what way cooperation between primary schools and authorities of social and legal protection of children is conducted and whether primary school teachers and social workers consider the cooperation efficient, by means of semi -structured interviews with primary school teachers and with social workers. The data obtained this way were analysed by the open data coding method. The cooperation is based on mutual transfer of information on pupils with problems, reports and written assessment of pupil's behaviour and school result. Social workers and primary school teachers meet at consultation meetings and also at disciplinary boards and case conferences. School teachers and social workers consider their cooperation effective. Certain problems however occur in their cooperation. To make the cooperation more effective two teachers propose more frequent updating of laws and applicable regulations with regard to current needs of children and legislation modification. Social workers propose establishment of a multidisciplinary team, an increase of the number of social workers and presence of a lawyer at the children social-law protection department, education in social and legal protection of children for primary school teachers, and an Internet forum. The results of the thesis may be used for making the cooperation more efficient and for prevention of risky behaviour among primary school children.

Model of software company metrics and its implementation in Business Intelligence tool
Teoretický základ v oblasti měření výkonnosti podniku tvoří koncept Performance Measurement a z něj vyplývající koncept Balanced Scorecard.
