Use of \kur{Notch} gene for the production of genetic "sexing" lines of codling moth.

The codling moth, Cydia pomonella, is the key pest of pome fruit and walnut orchards in the temperate regions of the world. The extensive use of insecticides for a control of this pest has resulted in the development of resistance to these chemicals, and there is an increasing demand on the use of environment-friendly control tactics, such as the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT). Codling moth SIT relies on the mass rearing and release of genetically sterile both males and females into a wild population. However, male-only releases could significantly reduce costs of the mass rearing and increase SIT efficiency. In this thesis I focused on the use of a temperature-sensitive mutant allele of the Notch gene for production of genetic "sexing" lines of codling moth.

Confrontation of game performance efficiency between Czech and foreign players of the Czech highest men basketball league during seasons 2002/2003 - 2007/2008.

Thesis name: Confrontation of game performance efficiency between Czech and foreign players of the Czech highest men basketball league during seasons 2003/2004 - 2007/2008. Thesis aim: Coherent formulation of determination proces of limitation of foreign players in the Czech highest men basketball league and ascertainment of the impact these changes had on the game space of Czech players. The aim is also the efficienty confrontation of Czech and foreign players. Method: The main methods are document analysis and secondary analysis. Outcome: The outcome should point out at the insufficient game space Czech players have in the Czech highest men basketball league and it should provoke a discussion about the quality of young Czech players who are transferring to the adult league. Discrimination in Labor Market - Is Solvent by Adoption of Anti-discriminatory Laws Efficient?

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze what can be regarded as discrimination in the labor market and why discrimination in the labor market actually generates, therefore, what makes entrepreneurs (employers) discriminate. Is discrimination socially inefficient, or can non-discriminated groups benefit from it in long term? I will focus on the most frequent types of discrimination in this thesis that may occur in the labor market in Czech Republic. Concretely, it is a racial discrimination (presented by the Romany minority), age discrimination or differences in employment and remuneration between men and women. I will pay my attention also to how is this inefficiency solved by the adoption of anti-discriminatory laws by Czech Government or by institutions of European Union. Is this legislation really effective or does it bring any unintended incidences?

Monitoring of bodily efficiency of pupils of basic school in Karlovy Vary region

Název práce: Sledování tělesné zdatnosti žáků základních škol v Karlovarském kraji Cíl práce: Ověřit výkonnost žáků vybraných základních škol v Karlovarském kraji. Metoda: Výzkum byl proveden metodou testování, kdy byla použita testová baterie UNIFITTEST 6- 60. Byli testovárů žáci několika základních škol v Karlovarském kraji ve věku 12 - 14let. Výsledky: Z testů vyplynulo, že tělesná zdatnost současné mládeže není příliš uspokojivá. Převážná část dětí dosáhla v testech pouze průměrných výkonu oproti normám. Největší rezervy byly zjiště ny u testu vytrvalostního (12 min. běh), kde se výsledky přibližovaly spíše hodnotám pod- průměrným. Získané výsledky by mohly být použity při následných testováních v následujících letech pro stejnou věkovou skupinu. Program " Green savings" and his efficiency in the South bohemia region

The Green Savings programme was drawn up by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic and fully administered by the State Environmental Fund. The main objectives of the programme were reduction of CO2 emissions as well as limitation of other air pollutants, supported by increased use of renewable energy sources and improved energy efficiency in the housing sector. The programme has not only promoted use of renewable energy sources for heating and hot water preparation but has also subsidized energy savings in reconstructions and new buildings. The programme supports quality insulation of family houses and non-panel multiple-dwelling houses, replacement of environment unfriendly heating for low-emission biomass-fired boilers and efficient heat pumps and, finally, installations of these sources in new low-energy buildings as well as construction of new houses in the passive energy standard. The Green Savings support is provided in the form of non-claimable subsidies granted only to applicants from the Czech Republic. The Green Savings programme started 1st April 2009 and was suspended in late October 2010 due to its funds having been spent. The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic received 7137 grant applications from the South Bohemian Region - 1693 applications (23.7%) were granted and paid in full, 2121 applications (29.7%) were approved and 3323 applications (46.6%) were turned down. The applicants in the South Bohemian Region have claimed to be adequately informed about the programme and they find it to be economically advantageous ? the programme itself proved to be extremely popular and successful in meeting the applicants expectations in energy savings. If some of the South-bohemian households choose not to apply for a subsidy within this programme it was not because of lack of funds. Most households who applied for the subsidy reported only partial satisfaction with its administration process. The greatest majority of benefactors in all subsidized areas were family houses and the biggest amount of grants applied for concerns the use of renewable energy sources for heating and hot water preparation (in particular installation of solar-thermal collectors which represents 25% of all submitted applications). Lowest interest within the subsidized areas was for housing construction in the passive energy standard. For many applicants the governmental support isn't the main driving force in their decision-making process about energy efficient homes. Many of them had implemented energy-saving measures before the programme started. But they claim to have chosen more energy efficient measures using the programme than they would have done without it. People living in South Bohemian Region have positive relationship with their environment and take environmental issues seriously.

Fork/join testing in Java 7

In release Java 7 comes new library fork/join from package java.util.concurrent, which help to better usage of parralel architecture and thus bring more time effective applications. The bachelor is aimed at describe and make recommendation for usage of this library. Main part of bachelor is aimed at implementation tests and their evalution for showing time efficiency. For the test was written program in Java, which was executed on different system platforms and different hardware architectures.

Simulation of physical tasks in program Cabri II Plus

This diploma work deals with the program Cabri II Plus and its opportunities as for the application into the lessons of Physics at elementary and high schools, grammar schools and also into particular seminars at colleges with a study program focused on the applied science (statitcs). This work is aimed mainly for tutors as a mean of both efficiency and students engagement enhancement. For these particular purposes the set of sample assignments has been created. The contribution of the work will be examined right within the lessons of Physics at L. Kuba Elementary School in České Budějovice and in particular seminars at the Department of Applied Physics and Technics at the Faculty of Education at the University of South Bohemia.

Composition and verification of baterry movement activities in form of DVD focused on volleyball

This bachelor?s thesis is aimed at the usage and efficiency of the motional games in volleyball. From the collection of 43 games extracted from the books and after testing and validation of their efficiency comes the package of 22 games, which are filmed and the rules are described in detail, including my own thoughts. The aim is to create a storage of the games, their evaluation in the practices and later create the DVD file filled with audiovisual recordings of these games mentioned. The testing group will be set of the team of elderly pupil players in the age of 13-15 of VK Jihostroj České Budějovice. The result of this thesis is the evaluation of the tested games according to the evaluation key and the DVD file, which I was able to make the way it could work separately, too, not as an attachment only.

Home experiment by physics education at basic schools

The diploma thesis focuses on possible usage of home made experiment applications within physics lessons. The term home made experiment is clearly defined in this thesis as well as its corresponding involvement in educational process. Instructions and worksheets related to home made experiments are included. Below created materials were applied to verify the tasks and can be used in physics lessons at elementary school. The efficiency verification was performed by the attached and particularly analyzed didactic probes.
