The historical image analysis of the selected area in the Novohradské Mountains, compared to the current landscape state

The paper analyzes the development of some individual settlement in the Novohradské Mountains. First part introduces the reader to the development of the territory Novohradsko, the reasons of changes in population and some more information about specific communities. Furthermore, it discusses used base maps and their characteristics. The practical part refers to the analysis used to compare the development of individual municipalities in the area within the last three centuries, from the times of Maria Theresa to the present.

3D reconstruction of landscape in abandoned villages of borderlands and military zones

3D reconstruction of landscape: A case study of extinct municipalities in Czech borderlands and military areas Abstract This work deals with theoretical and practical possibilities to use GIS to create three-dimensional model of landscape changes. The object of the work was the creation and visualization of three-dimensional model of extinct municipalities Padrť in a military area Brdy and Košťálkov in the borderlands. The work used many available data sources, such as historical aerial photographs, historical photos, current orthophotos or historical maps. These data and specialized software were used to create digital models of the selected area, including three-dimensional models of buildings and vegetation, with emphasis on historical closeness. Work was focused on three selected periods of history: 40th of the 18th century, 30th to 50th of the 20th century and present. The work resulted in fly-by animations and perspective scenes, which are compared with historical photographs. Historical models are also confronted with each other by a dynamic fading in fly-by animations.

Rozvoj rekreačního potenciálu v k.ú. Výšovice

The thesis addresses the recreational potential in the cadastral Výšovice. The first part deals with the topic of countryside, rural tourism, rural development and highlights the current state of landscape planning. The study informs the reader about the options how to spend leisure time in the tourist area, it depicts the natural givens, historical land use and it describes the local community. As a part of the thesis, a survey among local residents and a questionnaire intended for municipal council were prepared and carried out. Effort has been devoted to evaluate satisfaction of local residents with current recreation options in the selected area and to uncover their uttered wishes in order to further develop options for recreation. Utilizing the survey, SWOT analysis and field research, the study designs measures, which aim is to increase the recreational potential of the village. Technical support for particular components as well as estimation of indicative costs has been prepared for the selected measures. To provide a visual depiction of the suggested measures, those are displayed in graphical enclosures attached to the thesis.

The Path Home

The central idea of this project named “My way home” (the project’s name was inspired by Karel Václav Rais’s poem of the same name) is the work with the memory of a landscape. The project concerns a 700-metre-long area which is part of what used to be a road near Stráž nad Nežárkou. First of all, I try to return the road its original purpose. Also, I try to find out its historic foundation. Finally, I try to return the road its integrity. The road used to go from the village of Dvorce to the now cancelled Gabler’s mill (house number 98) in Stráž nad Nežárkou. The Diploma also includes an observation of the changes of the landscape near the village. The Diploma itself consists of three phases: The road, apple trees, The object.

Z. Kučera: Principy a problémy geografického studia krajiny 6 Abstrakt Principy a problémy geografického studia krajiny Krajina je jedním z klíčových geografických konceptů. Nicméně její definici nelze považovat za zcela ujasněnou a stává se proto předmětem diskuze. Současný geografický výzkum krajiny je výrazněji rozdělený mezi humánní a fyzickou geografii, resp. přesněji kulturní geografii a krajinnou ekologii. Obě tyto disciplíny se dnes v geografii rozvíjejí, byť třeba v odlišných geografických a oborových kontextech. V otázce definice krajiny však spolu velmi málo komunikují. V posledních desetiletích se krajina navíc stala vedle geografie součástí výzkumného zaměření mnoha dalších vědeckých oborů. Což je vývoj, který k vyjasněnosti její definice příliš nepřispívá. V práci je diskutována role geografie ve výzkumu krajiny, jsou srovnávána různá pojetí krajiny v geografii a učiněn pokus o formulaci souhrnné definice krajiny. Nakolik se diskutované přístupy doplňují či rozcházejí? Jsou neslučitelné, nebo je možné vymezit jednu geografickou disciplínu zvanou "geografie krajiny"? The transformation of a second housing in the protected landscape area of Český Kras.

This diploma work deals with a second housing (cottage activities) development and transformation in the beginning of 21. century in the protected landscape area of Český Kras with an attention to Hlásná Třebaň municipality. The aim of this work is to analyse and to assess second housing, its recent status, changes and cottage using trends. This work tries to handle especially mutual effect of second housing and protected landscape area. It presents the second habitation as a phenomenon influencing the character of a landscape, its residential structure, architectonic site character, locality and objects. The second housing development in the surveyed area was described through the use of a special literature, questionnaire, terrain survey and through analysis of gathered data. This work further assess data available for this area and topic. This service area is formed by 37 municipalities which rank among the most significant and oldest recreation areas in the Czech republic. Second housing specificity was also analysed on the basis of questionnaire survey in the municipality of Hlásná Třebaň. The present thesis deals with the protection of nature on the proposed Protected Landscape Area Soutok and purpose Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic to declare here large protected area. Main emphasis is put on the analysis of opinions and interests of opponents of the purpose and subsequent comments. The investigated location is divided into nineteen administrative areas of municipalities and it is the first case in the Czech Republic, when all the mayors of the area concerned agreed on the resistance against the Protected Landscape Area, which led to its non-declaration.

The effect of urbanization on life-history strategies in birds

Urbanisation process is recently a wide-spread process that causes high-impact environmental transformation. Habitats affected by urbanization tend to change substantially and ongoing changes influence organisms living in this environment. Urban environment modifies many abiotic conditions (e.g. temperature, artificial light and noise) and biotic factors (e.g. food supply, parasite prevalence, predation pressure) in comparison to natural habitats. In this manner, especially urban bird populations have recently gained broad attention by an increasing number of ecologists. Urban avoiders - typically sensitive and specialized bird species often vanish from urbanized landscapes. However, many bird species were able to colonize urban environment and coexist successfully with man. Populations of birds living in such a new type of environment show many characteristics different from populations living in original habitats. The objective of this work is to review current studies about changes of life strategies in urban bird populations such as modifications of acoustic signals, differences in reproductive and food ecology and physiological or behavioural responses.

History and the present situation of the municipal library of Slaný

Cílem bakalářské práce je deskripce a posouzení historického vývoje a současnosti Městské knihovny ve Slaném. V práci je nejdříve stručně popsána historie města Slaný, podrobněji potom kulturní historie tohoto města a historie Městské knihovny ve Slaném, a to i se zřetelem na historii čítárny, která po značnou část kulturní historie Slaného působila mimo rámec Městské knihovny. Velká pozornost je v práci věnována významným kulturním osobnostem, které působily ve Slaném a ovlivnily jeho kulturní život a v části věnované historii knihovny i osobnostem, jež se zásadním způsobem podílely na založení a dalším rozvoji knihovny. Těžiště práce však spočívá v popisu a rozboru současnosti knihovny. V práci jsou popsány základní dokumenty důležité pro zřízení Knihovny V.Štecha a její provoz a dále potom charakteristika a základní parametry v její činnosti, a to především se zřetelem k dlouhodobějším i krátkodobým tendencím, které se v práci knihovny projevují. Podrobně je rozebráno především poskytování služeb, a to jak v oddělení pro dospělé, studovně i v oddělení pro děti. V této souvislosti je věnována pozornost i doprovodným propagačním, vzdělávacím a kulturním akcím knihovny. Pozornost je věnována rovněž organizaci knihovny, jejímu personálnímu zabezpečení, úloze poboček, technickému a ekonomickému zabezpečení...
