Diploma thesis is concerned with the solution of main measurements of the carriage travel which will use for loading and expounding iron scrap. Manipulation with iron scrap will be by electromagnet. Part of calculation includes the computation of travelling apparatus, travelling gearbox and power of electric motor. It also sort out the calculation of the main measurements of lift apparatus, power lift of eletric motor, calculation gearbox and strop. This thesis deals about engineering design and calculation hoisting mechanism of travelling crab for capacity 20 000kg and lift height 36m. For this task are made necessary calculations concerning hoist, crane cable, cable pulleys, cable drum. Further, they are drawn strength calculations pin of pulleys, sidewalls, crossbeam and crane hook. Then is also set a drive part of hoisting mechanism consisting of calculation and choice motor, gearbox and brake. The result of this thesis is drawing documentation of pulley block and manufacturing drawings of individual parts.

The thesis consists of strenght calculation for range of the main carrying components, suitable fittings, and technical drawings of this crane and blueprint of unloading device.

This work deals with the calculation and suggestion of the main parts of the travelling crab for lifting capacity of 45 000 kg. It consists primarily of determining the ropes, pulleys and cable drum and assigning of appropriate engine, brakes, gearbox and clutch. The work also contains strength calculation and suggested dimensions of main parts of sheave block, like the pin hook block, crossbeam, hook nut and rope pulleys, which are delivered with drawing documentation along with drawing of sheave block and piece list.

The thesis deals with the structural design of the lifting device for the travelling crab with 50,000 kg capacity and lift if the intended use of the crane is in heavy traffic. The thesis includes a proposal for a block-and-tackle which contains suggestion for a suitable diameter and type rope, the strength design of rope drum, the strength design of individual parts of blocks, the choice of a suitable electric motor, the gearbox and finally, the brakes. Strength calculation of the tackle block was the basis for elaboration of drawing documentation for set of tackle block and its selected parts.

The main objective is design of bearing elements of cable system – steel rope, pulleys and cable drum. The integral part of the thesis constitutes strength calculation of sheave block and design propulsion of hoisting device - motor, gearbox and brake. Drawing documentation shows sheave block, including piece list and drawings pulley, crossbeam, nut of crane hook and journal of pulleys.

In work are also descriptions of hoisting apparatus and descriptions of construction parts of sheave block. Defined are also main dimensions ancillary components for desired hoisting. Work is finished with complete drawing documentation of sheave block travelling crab.
