Productivity of checkout of customers in retail industry
Vaník, Karel ; Jirsák, Petr (advisor) ; Holman, David (referee)
This work deals with the logistics processes in the retail chain. The theoretical part describes the development and current state of logistics chains in delivering of the goods from the suppliers to the store shelves. The practical part of this work tries to use the application of the principles of logistics to movement of customers in the store space. Among the methods used belongs the study and application of literature, mainly foreign. The thesis also discusses checkout of customer. The analysis is based on data provided by one specific retailer. At the end of the practical part, the author attempts to draft the proposals enabling the company the improvement of the productivity of checkout and also describes possible changes in metrics that measure the productivity. The aim is to map productivity measurement of checkout of customers in the retail chain and suggest improvements. The second goal of this thesis is to try to prove that logistics is not standing outside the rest of functional departments of the company (neither above them nor below them) and should therefore cooperate very closely with these departments.

Present possibilities of using X-ray technology for examination of urology diseases
PODEŠVOVÁ, Jitka
Imaging methods play an essential role in the diagnostic algorithm by determining the disease character in any part of the human body. The same applies to uroradiology where we use both standard methods and recent modalities. In the opening part this theses I mention anatomical and physiological aspects of the urinary tract and describe conventional radiology methods, digitally processible (ultasonography, computer tomography, megnetic resonance) and interventional. Individual examination methods contain comments related to indication and contra-indication when applying a contrast agent and how to prevent allergic reactions, or possibly how to mange them if they have already occurred. In the following part of thesis I try to describe and evaluate costs of each examination. After a brief summary of radiating load in radiology methods I try to work out statistically a patient file examined on x-ray department in the Krnov´s hospital in October and November 2006 where I monitored whether urologists observe the algorithm of examination methods at patients with urological diseases.

The care of skin in Anaestheziology - resuscitation department and Intensive care unit
MUŽÍKOVÁ, Eva
My Bachelor Paper, focused as indicated in the title, relied on questionnaires distributed among nurses to find out whether they could access with sufficient readiness the anti-decubitus aids and hygiene agents needed for proper care of the patients. Moreover, through inconspicuous observation I tried to make sure the patients had the aids readily available. The first hypothesis, proved warranted, predicted that the nurses took proper care of the patients' skin in conformity to the relevant nursing standards. This hypothesis could be confirmed because I had a chance of reading standards used to regulate practices at the health-care facility being investigated. The nurses had available an adequate range of aids required to adjust the patients' positions, keep the patients clean and take care of their skin. The second hypothesis predicted that the ARW and ICU patients had available the anti-decubitus aids. Now, with the questionnaires reviewed and the observation completed, I can conclude that this hypothesis has been confirmed as well. I believe, the care is also dependent on sufficient supply of bedclothes available the wards and units; judging from my observation and the questionnaires returned by some selected nurses, the bedclothes are in no short supply. The occurrence of decubitus ulcers in these patients is not extremely widespread, and their injuries heal mostly per primam. The nurses try to improve their relevant qualifications by reading vocational periodicals and attending thus oriented seminars - obviously, they pay proper attention to these issues. The Paper endeavored to map the care of skin provided by nurses at the AR Ward and the IC Unit. In my opinion this objective has been met. Approximate Polynomial Greatest Common Divisor
Eliaš, Ján ; Zítko, Jan (advisor) ; Hnětynková, Iveta (referee)
Title: Approximate Polynomial Greatest Common Divisor Author: Ján Eliaš Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics, MFF UK Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Jan Zítko, CSc., Department of Numerical Mathematics, MFF UK Abstract: The computation of polynomial greatest common divisor (GCD) ranks among basic algebraic problems with many applications. The Euclidean algorithm is the oldest and usual technique for computing GCD. However, the GCD computation problem is ill-posed, particularly when some unknown noise is applied to the polyno- mial coefficients. Since the Euclidean algorithm is unstable, new methods have been extensively studied in recent years. Methods based on the numerical rank estimation represent one group of current meth- ods. Their disadvantage is that the numerical rank cannot be computed reliably due to the sensitivity of singular values on noise. The aim of the work is to overcome the ill-posed sensitivity of GCD computation in the presence of noise. Keywords: AGCD, Sylvester matrix, numerical rank, TLS

Distribution and genetic variation of invasive crayfish of the genus Orconectes
Filipová, Lenka ; Petrusek, Adam (advisor) ; Kozák, Pavel (referee)
Crayfish are an important part of European fauna, but since the 19th century native crayfish species have been largely influenced by biological invasions, when large number of their populations was dramatically reduced due to the introduction of the pathogen of the crayfish plague (oomycete Aphanomyces astaci) to Europe. Several North American crayfish species were then brought to the European continent to substitute lost populations of native crayfish, the most widespread being the spiny-cheek crayfish (Orconectes limosus), the signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) and the red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii). However, these crayfish can carry pathogen of the crayfish plague and therefore represent a serious threat to the native species. My work focused mostly on the spiny-cheek crayfish (O. limosus). Available literature data suggest that the species was brought to Europe only once, and all European individuals may be descendants of the founder population. However, other cases of introduction may not have been documented, and cannot be ruled out. The first aim of my thesis was to evaluate the haplotype variation of the spiny-cheek crayfish populations from Europe and North America. Mitochondrial gene for cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (COI) of selected O. limosus individuals from several...

Procházky v grafech a genetické algoritmy
Szépe, Peter ; Bajer, Lukáš (referee) ; Pangrác, Ondřej (advisor)
Title: Walks in graphs and genetic algorithms Author: Peter Szépe Department: Department of Applied Mathematics Supervisor: RNDr. Ondřej Pangrác, Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: pangrac@kam.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: We solve the problem of finding a maximal walk from the starting vertex to the target vertex with an upper bound of the length of the walk. It is an NP-hard problem where not even the approximation algorithms do guarantee a quick and nice solution. Hence it is important to develop heuristics for practical applications. Keywords: optimization, evolutionary algorithms, genetic algorithms, graphs, walks in graphs

Impact of the customer satisfaction and other indicators on company`s market share
Dvořáková, Monika ; Sedláček, Jiří (advisor) ; Skala, David (referee)
In the present hypercompetitive market environment of car producers established especially at the developed west european markets is very difficult to gain new customers and increase the market share. The car producing companies have to build and increase customer loyalty to ensure the sustainable growth of market share in the future. One possibility how to improve customer's loyality to brand is to provide the highest standard at both sales and service department and carefully monitor the customer satisfaction. From the satisfaction and performance indicators of the car producing company is possible to construct a mathematical model producing the market share in a given country as an output. Key indikators of customer satisfaction, sales and service and also the macroeconomical data has been used as the inputs for the model. As a target market for my analysis has been chosen Germany. This thesis presents a set of recommendations and proposals, whose implementation should ensure the improvement of the market share of the given brand on german market. The recommendation does not include only the tips for improvement of the key indicators but it also gives the overview of how to make the marketing strategy more efficient using Customer relationship management.

The Relation Between Mamma Tumor Size and Remission Length
ŠPAČKOVÁ, Eva
Brest cancer is one of the most frequent malign types of cancer women suffer from. Its occurrence has been rising. It can be found more and more among younger generation and it has thus become a public health problem as well as social, economical and in general a problem for the whole society. In the Czech Republic each year over 5 500 new cases is being diagnosed. 2 000 Czech women die every year of breast cancer. In my dissertation I have analysed a current state of mammal diagnostics and prevention. I have analysed and evaluated data from 238 women, who were diagnosed with breast cancer from 2003 until 2007 at the accredited mammographic department in Havlíčkův Brod at Vrabčí trh. The aim of the dissertation was to find out whether the length of remission depends on the size of tumour when it is diagnosed malign. Even though there was rather small number of women who had tumour of size smaller than 1 cm and it did not influence the length of remission, the illness went forward, the results of my dissertation confirmed my hypothesis {--} the length of remission depends on the size of tumour when it is diagnosed malign. The results of my dissertation will help support mammographic screening in the Czech Republic.

The education process for nurses in pediatric primary practice and parents of children with epilepsy
PICKOVÁ, Pavlína
The epilepsy occurs in the whole world without exception of age, race, geographical location and socio-economic structure. The incidence of epilepsy depends on age and influences each time the quality of life of the child and its next relatives. Our children and young people perceive, experience and evaluate their life usually from different points of view than adults including the parents. For this reason the main target of the nurse effort should be the education and involving the family into the process of healing. Also the preventive and educational care is connected with this. The target of thesis was to map if the education by the nurse concerning the regimen measures has influence on knowledge extent of the family of an epileptic child. The work focused, as for quantitative examination, on nurses in the surgeries of physicians for the children and young people (pediatrists) in South Bohemia. By the technology of the questionnaire the possibilities of provided primary and secondary care for children with epilepsy by the nurse and the scope of the co-operation of the nurse with the clubs of epileptics were mapped. Within the qualitative examination, based on the talks with parents of the children with epilepsy, the contribution of the knowledge of regimen measures handed on through the education by nurses in the primary pediatric care was examined. It follows from the results of the quantitative examination that the nurses in the outpatient departments of pediatrists do not devote attention to primary or secondary prevention of epilepsy and simultaneously they do not co-operate with the clubs of epileptics. It was impossible to verify all three hypotheses. It followed from the results of the quantitative examination that nurses in outpatient departments of physicians for children and young people do not sufficiently educate the parents of children with epilepsy. If the education by the nurse in the pediatric primary care has been performed, it was a contribution for parents each time. The results of the thesis lead us to reflection concerning the role of the nurse as educator and simultaneously as defender of the client- child in the outpatient departments of pediatrists. The results of the thesis: I would like to address the nurses in primary care, that they should assert themselves more, educate themselves and get involved into the care for children with epilepsy and hereby help to children to improve their childhood in the way necessary for their healthy growth and development.

The Conception of the Human Being according to H. Plessner and A. Gehlen in the philosophical anthropology
JANOUŠKOVÁ, Hana
My thesis deals with the position of the human being in the nature from the point of view of two representatives of philosophical anthropology {--} H. Plessner and A. Gehlen. According to Plessner the exceptionality of the man consists in their eccentric form of being, which means that their existence is not fixated on their centre as it is at animals and plants. As a result of this, human behavior is autonomous. It is not a mere program of animal instincts, but human beings are able to make decisions and thanks to their brain they can give their lives the right orientation. Gehlen presents a human being as a being in necessity. According to him the human race is a result of imperfections. The nature did not equip it with sufficient amount of instincts and organs, which would make its being at any place on the Earth easier. People live all over the world and they have to put in a lot of strain to survive. They create their own natural environment in which they are able to live. Both authors describe the human being as an extraordinary being. They point out that only thanks to their own initiative people are able to overcome imperfections in their biological equipment and to leave unmistakable marks in their surroundings {--} that is the culture.
