Purification of Raw Biogas to CNG Quality by Norm 133/2010.
Izák, Pavel ; Žitková, Andrea ; Vejražka, Jiří ; Sedláková, Zuzana ; Morávková, Lenka
Membrane separation processes have recently been increasingly used in the purification of various gases. Their involvement in the processes of upgrading biogas is the logical consequence of this development. The aim of the process is removed from a biogas carbon dioxide and other undesirable substances, eg. sulfur compounds and moisture, and thus obtain a gas with a high proportion of methane (> 95 vol.%), which could be used as a substitute for natural gas. As is evident from the results of our method, the selected RO membrane conforms 133/2010 CNG norm exept the amount of water. The amount of water in the retentate (product) is solved by classical dryer.

Claims reserve calculation for data separating true IBNR and IBNER
Šťástka, Petr ; Mazurová, Lucie (advisor) ; Justová, Iva (referee)
The thesis deals with calculating technical reserves of non-life insurance undertakings, especially calculating the claims reserve, which is the most important non-life insurance reserve. It describes the reserve for claims in detail focusing consequently on the different calculation methods. The thesis focuses particularly on the description of the model proposed by the Swiss mathematician René Schnieper. This is a special model aimed at estimating the ultimate claims based on the decomposition of the incurred data into new claims amounts and changes in incurred amounts for the existing claims reported in the earlier years of the development. The final chapter numerically illustrates and compares the methods mentioned in this thesis.

The influence of the scrappage bonus on german car industry
Rokošová, Lucie ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Janíčko, Martin (referee)
If and how much, the scrappage bonus influenced the number of first registered cars in Germany? This is the question addressed in this bachelor thesis. The empirical analysis method, difference-in-differences was used for the investigation. Findings are; in consequence of the scrappage bonus, there was an increase in the average amount of the first registered cars about 24.5 % (or 922 per million inhabitants); the end of the scrappage bonus caused the decrease of amount of the first registered cars about 23.56 % (or 835 per million inhabitants). Also in the others categories studied, the increase of first registered cars as a consequence of the scrappage bonus and decrease by the end of scrappage bonus is visible.

Sklenářová, Markéta ; Bílková, Diana (advisor) ; Löster, Tomáš (referee)
The task of the thesis is to determine the effects of legislative changes in the area of life insurance in force since 21 December 2012. Legislative change concerns approach to calculating premiums for life insurance. According to the new provisions of the previous procedure considered sexually discriminatory and gender effect had to be removed. The thesis is focused on examining the impact of the new approach to actuarial calculations. First introduces the reader to the general features of life insurance premium calculation for the derivation of individual life insurance products and determining the amount of the reserve. The practical examples show how to change premiums and reserves for men and women at different ages. Regression analysis is then examined whether the age of the insured may have an impact on the amount of the reserve. This thesis presents the possible consequences in access regardless of sex as insurance premiums, and especially on the reserve, which is the main component of capital insurance.

The consequences of the fighting are mostly faced by local inhabitants who have been severely suffering due to the harsh living and humanitarian conditions. The aim of this thesis is to depict the problems of the Syrian conflict, evaluate the role the UN has had up to the present, and answer the question whether the UN has totally failed in solving the Syrian conflict, or not.

Changes in legislation in the field of lotteries and their fiscal impact
Brůček, Tomáš ; Sedmihradská, Lucie (advisor) ; Stavjaňová, Jana (referee)
The thesis is focused on changes in legislation in the field of lotteries and their impact on the budgets of selected municipalities. The gaming industry is a specific part of the economy which is connected with the unique taxation system. Since 2012, a new taxation system has been applied - it has consequences on public budgets. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate these changes and to qualify their impact on the amount and the structure of income from gambling in selected Prague city districts. The development of income from gambling is strongly influenced by city districts' attitude towards gambling. In city districts with zero tolerance of gambling, income from gambling dropped. On the contrary, city districts with high concentration of gambling increased their income. Due to existence of the Capital City of Prague, the position of city districts is different in comparison with the other cities and villages.

International and European Legal Regulation of Small Arms Trade
van der Weerden, Anna ; Scheu, Harald Christian (advisor) ; Ondřej, Jan (referee)
International and European Legal Regulation of Small Arms Trade Other types of weapons, having the very same extensive consequences on human lives in the sense of amount and kind of harm caused, are regulated by a global treaty. Why is the small arms trade not regulated by a global treaty as well? How is the small arms trade currently regulated on international and European level and how is it supposed to be regulated in the future? Are the Human Rights norms and the Humanitarian law applicable to the small arms trade? Is it possible to incur responsibility of the exporting state in case small arms were used to commit serious violations of Human Rights of inhabitants of a third country? Was there already any proceeding initiated concerning this matter before an international institution? This research paper aims to clarify the basic terminological discrepancies, reply to the above mentioned questions and at the same time emphasize the importance of this matter by outlining of the consequences that small arms cause in the region of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Poláková, Terezie ; Kovařík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hronek, Miloslav (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Student: Mgr. Terezie Poláková Supervisor of rigorous thesis: PharmDr. Miroslav Kovařík, Ph.D. Title of rigorous thesis: Association of nutrition substrate utilization and predictors of morbidity and mortality in patients with COPD Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is not only the respiratory system disease, but it influences total state of health of the patient. Mainly, there are changes of nutrition metabolism in its serious consequences, which could be dangerous for the patient. The typically problem of patients with COPD is loss of the muscle mass. The main aim of this study was searching for associations between the nutrition substrates utilization and indices, which are used for prediction of morbidity and mortality in COPD patients. We compared 51 patients in all stages of COPD (38 males and 13 females, mean age 67 ± 7 years) with control group of healthy volunteers (4 males and 5 females, mean age 62 ± 4 years). Measurements were carried out on an outpatient basis by using the indirect calorimetry and determining the amount of urea in urine. Statistically significant differences between utilization of substrates we evaluated only in relative utilization of proteins in...

Sites and Consequences of Mitochondreal ROS Production
Mráček, Tomáš ; Houštěk, Josef (advisor) ; Pelouch, Václav (referee) ; Kolarov, Jordan (referee)
The thesis consists of 8 articles (6 published and 2 submitted), which may be divided into two major lines. The first (articles 1-4) deals with mitochondrial glycerophosphate dehydrogenase. We have shown that this enzyme is capable of massive ROS production and in the presented works we studied in more detail this ROS production as well as some aspects of enzyme biogenesis, so as to better understand its physiological significance. The second line (articles 5-8) represents our studies on the potential involvement of ROS in pathogenesis of mitochondrial diseases. 1. Glycerophosphate-dependent hydrogen peroxide production by brown adipose tissue mitochondria and its activation by ferricyanide; Drahota Z., Chowdhury SKR., Floryk D., Mráček T., Wilhelm J., Rauchová H., Lenaz G., Houštěk J.; J Bioenerg Biomembr. 2002; 34(2):105-13. Indeed, this was first article to demonstrate ROS production by mammalian mGPDH. We studied oxidation of glycerophosphate by brown adipose tissue mitochondria, which are known to contain high amounts of mGPDH. We found significant GP-dependent AA- stimulated production of H2O2. To further verify our findings, we used three independent methods for H2O2 measurement - fluorescence detection with p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, antimycine A - insensitive oxygen consumption, and luminometric...

The influence of development of self-control and self-esteem in overweight reduction through yoga training for men
POSPÍŠILOVÁ, Michaela
In my thesis I have dealt with the overweight and obesity and its reduction by using interventional program lasting 12 weeks. The whole research was a part of a three-year research project called {\clqq}Positive Effects of Self-Control and Self-Esteem Development on Overweight control through Intervention of Yoga training`` and this project was supported by a grant from the Czech Grant Agency GACR No 406/05/2431 aimed at gender, age and overweight reduction, where four hundred volunteers took part. In my researching project 30 elderly men suffering from overweight and obesity of the first degree participated. I have used the interventional active plan with 15 elderly people in the experimental group from February 2008 till May 2008. The program of my diploma work focused not only on measuring the degree of overweight and obesity by using the values of BMI, BIA, and by measuring the amount of subcutaneous fat with a caliper, but also on identifying the role of Self-concept and Self-esteem and consequently on the positive influence of that on their mental and social parameters during the process of decreasing the current body weight by using yoga training and keeping healthy lifestyle. On concluding of the interventional active plan the gained results were evaluated by the use of statistic methods, which are included in the publication from doc. Krejčí, Factors of self-control and self-esteem in overweight reduction. The results proved that through doing yoga training regularly, at least 30 minutes a day, along with keeping healthy diet and practicing relaxation techniques, we managed decrease overweight and obesity of the first degree, maintained the weight and improved the mental state.
