Gobblet game from the point of artificial intelligence
Kotrč, Pavel ; Majerech, Vladan (referee) ; Vomlelová, Marta (advisor)
Gobblet is a new abstract board game, rules of which are based on the classic 4-in-arow game played on 4×4 board. However, the ability to gobble up and move the pieces on the board greatly increases its complexity and Gobblet is thus comparable to games like Checkers or Othello. That makes it interesting from the artificial intelligence point of view. This thesis explores the possibilities of classic and more recent methods for searching the Gobblet game tree - the minimax algorithm, alpha-beta pruning, a heuristic for move ordering, iterative deepening and others. The resulting algorithm is compared to the computer players on the Boardspace game server where it plays above-average with the best-playing robot. Implementation of all described algorithms and a graphical user interface for testing them in the Java programming language is an inseparable part of this thesis.

Real estate market in the Czech Republic and Great Britain
KABLÁSKOVÁ, Jitka
This diploma work is about real estate market in the Czech Republic and Great Britain. For comparison of these two markets and understanding how the current economic crisis has influenced them, I tried to compare the following indicators: house prices, inflation, average earnings, balance of trade, interest rates, homeownership and mortgage approvals. Housing bubbles in the USA have deliberately created the damage inflicted by companies shifting production abroad in an attempt to boost profits. As these bubbles burst, economic growth in many developed countries will inevitably tumble. Interviews with real estate and development Company in the Czech Republic and Great Britain helped me find out trends affecting property investment and its potentials. The marked factors which, I believe, will affect property investment prices now and in the future, are socio-economic trends, demographics, infrastructure, jobs and regeneration of the area. The property market has been changed from the market of supplier to the market of demander. Real estate and development Companies have to change their way of selling and offer complex and professional services. It is expected the real estate market will recovery slowly.

Comparison of the performance of the parental combination of geese ESKILDSEN SCHWER and their progeny during three laying cycles
ZIGÁČEK, Ladislav
Abstract The aim of the bachelor thesis was to compare the production traits of goose parental combination ESKILDSEN SCHWER and their progeny obtaining from the poultry performance testing during three laying cycles. The tests were made by International Poultry Testing Station in Ústrašice and methodology was based on the guidelines for the implementation of poultry performance testing. Parental test consisted of rearing parents until the age of 210 days, the laying preparation period of 211?285 days, the rearing period at duration 160 days and from two fattening progeny tests lasting for 56 and 112 days. Higher live weight at 1 day, 56 day and 210 days of age during parental test was found out at gangers compare to geese. The higher number of eggs in the initial stage (66.3 eggs) and number of hatched goslings (46.4 heads) were found out at two-year-old geese. The above-average temperatures in May caused premature drop of lying at three-year-old geese. The highest breast muscle weight (430 g) at 1st fattening progeny test at 56 days of age was at three-year old geese. It was only about 14 g higher in comparison with progeny of two-year-old geese and about 30 g higher in comparison with one-year-old geese. The highest weight of breast muscle was found out at three-year-old geese at the 2nd fattening progeny test too (493 g), followed by progeny of two-year-old geese and one-year-old geese. The highest weight of breast muscle (671 g) was found out at 112 days of age at the 1st fattening progeny test at three-year-old geese. The lowest weight was at progeny of two-year-old geese. The highest breast muscle weight (746 g) was achieved at progeny of three-year-old geese at the 2nd fattening progeny test. They were followed by one-year-old geese and two-year-old geese.

Limits of the dictator game in relation to altruism
Šestořád, Tomáš ; Doležalová, Antonie (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis investigates an altruism using the dictator game. The purpose of my research is to determine and specify the limits of the game in relation to the altruism. I have managed to alter the rules of the game in order to reduce the effect of inequity aversion and to enable respondents to demonstrate their negative social preferences. I have conducted an experiment, designed to evaluate the hypothesis that the social preferences obtained from the modified games are in average lower than the results of the standard dictator game. Using the Welch`s F-test, I have confirmed the established hypothesis at a significance level 1%. Some of the respondents misunderstood the setting of the experiment; hence its interpretation is limited.

Laterality and wages: Is there a price premium for the left-handers?
Jakubcová, Klára ; Komrska, Martin (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
This thesis empirically examines the influence of laterality on wages in the Czech Republic. I gathered cross-sectional data using a questionnaire. In general there is an expectation of the left-handers to be underpaid. The reason for this is the unavailability of specific tools adapted to be used by the left-handed workers which results in lower productivity of work. The first tested hypothesis argues that left-handed men achieve wage premium due to better creative abilities. The second hypothesis suggests that the wages of left-handed women are penalized compared to those of right-handed women. To test the hypotheses the process of estimating regression equations by the method of least squares was used. Neither hypothesis was confirmed using my basic models. On the contrary, the results suggest that the left-handers should have in average 6,6 % lower wages than right-handers and left-handed women about 4 % higher wages than the right-handed women. However, the statistical significance of laterality variables was not confirmed in the basic models. After splitting the dataset according to the highest education achieved the results were as follows: The left-handed male workers with the university degree have 14 % higher hourly wage than the right-handed workers with same attributes. The left-handed male workers with secondary education and lower degree of education have 43 % lower hourly wage than the right-handed (There was no influence observed in case of left-handed women).

Physical properties of ultrafine-grained polycrystals of magnesium based alloys
Vrátná, Jitka ; Janeček, Miloš (advisor) ; Kužel, Radomír (referee)
The objective of the thesis is the study of microstructure evolution, mechanical properties, defect structure and corrosion resistance of ultra-ne grained magnesium alloy AZ31 prepared by a combined two-step process: the extrusion and the equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP). The microstructure development was studied using light and transmission electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Mechanical properties were studied by microhardness measurement and tensile tests and the defect structure by positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS). The results of tensile tests indicates that the characteristic stress 0.2 increases slightly with increasing number of ECAP passes only to the second pass and then decreases signicantly with additional ECAP straining. This behaviour is in accordance with the results of PAS. EBSD measurements show that the microstructure of extruded and ECAPed material has a bimodal distribution of grain sizes. The bimodal distribution becomes homogeneous with increasing number of ECAP passes and no remaining large grains are observed after 8 passes. The average grain size in the specimen after 8 passes is in the submicrometer range and the fraction of high-angle grain boundary (HAGB) is approximately 80%. The extruded specimens after 8 ECAP passes show the best...

Valuation of Vodafone Czech Republic, a. s. company as of the date of valuation on March 31, 2009
Sekanina, Jan ; Scholleová, Hana (advisor) ; Minsterová, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to determine the value of the equity of Vodafone Czech Republic, a. s. For the purpose of the valuation I elaborated a strategic analysis focused on the analysis of external (economy, industry branch) and internal (competitive position, market share) potential. Strategic analysis is supplemented by financial analysis to analyze the financial health and strength of the company (horizontal and vertical analysis of the financial statements, ratio analysis and competitive comparison). The valuation was carried out by income approach, namely using the discounted cash flow model DCF Entity (using free cash flows to the firm FCFF). I chose the two-phase variant of the DCF model. Detailed financial plan was prepared in order to project free cash flows to the firm (FCFF) in the 1st stage of the valuation. Free cash flow to the firm projected for every year of the 1st phase is discounted to the present value as of the date of the valuation using the discount rate (the weighted average costs of capital WACC). At the end of the valuation process sensitivity analysis was worked up. The result of the valuation was determination of the value of the equity.

Macroeconomic Modeling of the Economy of CR during the Accession to the EU
Švarcová, Radka ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Štěpán, Josef (referee) ; Nováček, Jan (referee)
Práce zkoumá možnosti analýzy mechanismů působících během vstupu ČR do EU pomocí 2 ekonometrických modelů.

Trends in the balance and material flows of phosphorus in the Czech Republic.
Hejzlar, Josef
In developed countries, many voices call for increasing the recycling of phosphorus (P) that is a strategic raw material for agriculture and other production sector; phosphorus is also causing environmental problems, for example. eutrophication. Using the methodology of material flow analysis, van Dijk et al. (Sci. Total Environ. 2016, 552: 1078-1093) quantified the main flows and stocks of P in 27 states of the European Union. The contribution presents and discusses data from that publication for the material flows P in the Czech Republic (CR) and compared with the EU. The P balance of CR shows the dependence on imported P through mineral fertilizers (1 kg/ca/yr), food and feed (1.5 kg/ca/yr) and also draws attention to significant environment losses and unused recycling potential. For example, municipal sludge (0.4 kg/ca/yr) and bone meal (0.25 kg/ca/yr) could replace 70% of the P amount in applied mineral fertilizers. P recycling rate in CR in comparison with EU-27 is below average (68% in livestock production, 21% in food production, 10% for human consumption). Agricultural production in CR still uses P reserves in the soil of mineral fertilizers in the past.
