Theoretical and Practical Aspects of FX Management in a Mid-sized Company

This thesis concerns with problematic of FX risk management in a mid-sized export-oriented company. The theoretic part of the paper explains fundamental and origin of FX risk and summarizes process of its management with emphasis on specifics of mid-sized companies. Further, selected hedging techniques and instruments are introduced. With employment of available statistics and analysis, main advantages and disadvantages of hedging are demonstrated. For practical application of theory presented, real data from mid-sized company are used. After analyzing financial and accounting statements, concrete risks arising from exchange rate volatility are identified. Finally, concrete recommendations for the management are offered, which could lead to lowering FX exposure and reducing impact of changes in exchange rates on economy of the firm.

Non-conventional Applications in Thick Film Technology

This work deals with issues of application of the thick film technology in the non-conventional field. It includes the essential core of this technology, the overview of producers focusing on manufacturing thick film pastes and concrete examples of application. The general aim is to present growing opportunity of non-conventional application of thick film to the reader and to stimulate the imagination towards inventing new applications. In the experimental part of this work a design of a planar inductor on organic and anorganic substrate is carried out using thick film technology, screen and paste for high resolution.

Celosvětové statistiky jsou pravidelně plněny varovnými čísly, která oznamují, kolik lidí každý rok podlehne následkům traumatu mozku. Díky zlepšující se lékařské péči se zvyšuje počet lidí, kteří přežívají i závažná poranění mozku. Tato poranění však sebou nesou řadu komplikací a to raných i pozdějších. Finanční prostředky vynakládané na léčbu pacientů po poranění mozku jsou značné. Přesná čísla nejsou známa, ale podle Smrčky (2001) v roce 1990 např. v USA dosáhly roční náklady na mozková traumata 25 miliard US dolarů. Tato částka zahrnuje náklady spojené jednak s přímou léčbou pacientů, ale i s následnou rehabilitací, rekvalifikačními kurzy atd. Řada pacientů je díky následkům úrazu v dlouhodobé pracovní neschopnosti nebo trvalé invaliditě. Častými následky po poranění mozku jsou mimo Jlne deficity kognitivních funkcí, zvláště pozornosti. Tato disertační práce se zaměřuje na možnost využití metody EEG biofeedback při tréninku pozornosti u pacientů po poranění mozku, Jednou z terapeutických aplikací metody EEG biofeedback jsou právě poruchy pozornosti. Metoda EEG biofeedback je mnohými opěvovaná a jinými zase zatracovaná. Využívána je při léčbě celé řady onemocnění. Původní projekt této disertační práce musel být změněn. The Effectiveness of Foreign Aid - Public or Private Financing? (Case India)

In this bachelor work I study problems of foreign aid, especially views of private sector's utilization for development in the Third World countries. In the first part I will take into account different views of foreign aid (rather critical than positive), the next part is continuing with concrete problem of developing countries -- education. In analytic part of my work I will examine foreign aid in India, its economic situation and progression. By application of theoretic knowledge I will try to know, if the private sector of education plays greater role than public education system in India. At the conclusion I will analyze the role of government and its influence on providing education especially for poor children.

The graduation theses is focused on problems of emission rights. The graduation theses is describing when and where has been firstly started talking about emission rights and why, what has been developement of emission rights prices on the stock markets since their implementation in 2005 and what was the impact on the financial statements. The main part of the gradiation theses is about financial reporting. There is described a few of possible methods how to enter it in the books with concrete examples each of them. There is not missing historically first sollution of the emission rights bookkeeping, interpretation IFRIC 3.

Eritrea and Somaliland - comparison of independence struggle

The aim of this thesis is to compare efforts of Eritrea and Somaliland to obtain independence and to find out why Eritrea was in independence obtaining succesful and Somaliland not. Chapter 1 offers a basic theoretical background concerning a question of international law and formation of a state. Based on basic international law documents regarding this topic it describes crucial terms and principles. Further it discusses a question of secession justifiability and it concerns also application of theoretical principles in reality. Chapter 2 includes basic geographical information and ethnical characteristics of population of both regions. Chapter 3 briefly describes history of both states from their emergence up to the beginning of fifties of the last century. The aim of this chapter is to describe international and internal influences which formed uniqueness of both regions within parent states which later supported the efforts to obtain independence. Chapter 4 is devoted to a concrete description of both areas' efforts to obtain independence in the second half of 20th century. It focuses mainly on international negotiations regarding future of both countries, formation and development of independence movements and the concrete course of independence declaration. Chapter 5 evaluates the course and results of independence struggle in both countries.

The diploma thesis gives the view of international trademark protection chiefly through its legal regulation in international agreements and through regulation' s application to the praxis. The thesis is divided according to particular sorts of rights (trademarks, marks of origin, unsigned marks), it consider their concrete regulation, international organizations protecting the rights and trademarks rights enforcement. The aim of the diploma thesis is to explain and to show the basic principles of international trademark protection functioning on concrete cases and decisions and therefore to offer the help to those subjects, who need to orientate themselves at the area of international trademark protection.

Banality of Evil and the Holocaust

The thesis "Banality of Evil and the Holocaust" deals with the phenomenon of banal evil in the context of the Nazi Holocaust. The first part of the paper refers to the theoretical aspects of this phenomenon; the second part applies this theory to the occurrence of the Holocaust offers concrete examples. The paper aims to offer answers to the following questions: "Does banal evil exist in our world today?", "Was the Holocaust a unique event?", "Who might tend to become a murderer?". The author concludes that banal evil exists at the present time and also states the conditions of its existence and prevention. Furthermore, the author substantiates the repeatability of holocaust and, as a consequence, its non-unique character. The author comes also to the conclusion, that anyone can become a murderer, even if he does not personally commit a killing. The contribution of the thesis is to set up an integral vision on the theory of banal evil, along with a supplementary analysis of the Holocaust from this theoretical perspective. The paper also intends to establish a new conception of the Holocaust, and its perpetrators as rationally acting individuals.

Gamification of Mobile Application for Intelligent Home Control

This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of raising users' motivation to use the application for the Intelligent home control. It describes common principles of implementation of game-based mechanics into the real-life systems and deals with the concrete design of motivational programme. Practical part of this thesis describes the implementation of the designed system of rewards and its display in the mobile application. The final application contains the motivational system for users based on collecting points and achievements and covers the majority of the functions of the Intelligent home.
