Evolutionary techniques in physical design for FPGAs
Daněk, Martin ; Muzikář, Z.
This paper disscusses two studies of using evolutionary algorithms in physical design for FPGAs. The first study presents an adaptation of a genetic algorithm that optimises parametres of a linear delay model for Xilinx XC4000 FPGA and compares their performance to parameters optimised by hand. The second study showes implementation and performance of an adaptive technology mapping algorithm for XC4000 based on Wilsons XCS classifier system.
Recursive Finite Interval Constant Modulus Algorithm for blind equalization
Heřmánek, Antonín ; Regalia, P.
In the paper, we reexamine the Finite Interval Constant Modulus Algorithm (FI-CMA) proposed by P.Regalia and we present our modifications leading to its recursive form. The proposed modifications are based on recursive updates of QR decomposition. The presented results shows the computation savings and ability to use Recursive FI-CMA for tracking time variant channels.
Pasive coherent radiolocator - FPGA implementation of signal accelerator
Heřmánek, Antonín ; Kvasnička, M.
The paper presetns the implemantation of the HW architecture based on FPGA for CAF computation, which will by suitable for future real-time PCL systems.
Modeling of differential circuits by s-parameters for signal integrity evaluation
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Berka, Zbyněk ; Braun, Jaromír
Scattering parameters /s-parameters/ are used for evaluation of signal integrity in the mixed-signal systems /analog and digital/ with high bandwidth and fast edge rates. In the paper a mixed-mode model of differential circuit and its relation to model of single-ended system is described.
Signal integrity enhancement of mixed electronic systems by differential signaling
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Berka, Zbyněk ; Braun, Jaromír
Signal integrity of mixed-signal electronic systems may be considerably enhanced when properly designed differential signaling is used for interconnections. In the paper controlled characteristic impedances, rules of routing and terminating of differential lines are treated.
Modelling of differential line for signal integrity
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Berka, Zbyněk ; Braun, Jaromír
Differential signaling gives high noise immunity, especially for critical signals in highspeed design. Modal decomposition of 3-wire differential transmission line results in two isolated decomposed transmission lines that may be analyzed separately. The overall response of a differential line is then superposition of two modal results.
Modeling the influence of vias on signal integrity
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Berka, Zbyněk ; Braun, Jaromír
The influence of vias on signal integrity in mixed-signal systems manufactured as multi-layer printed circuit boards is investigated. The simpler models and guidelines are introduced, which are intended for the designer to help him in creating virtual prototype computer model of the system.
