Cohesion policy of the European Union focussed on the Czech republic

This thesis deals with cohesion policy in programming period 2007-2013. There are sources of regional development and targets of the European Union and Czech republic defined in the first part of the thesis. In the second part the allocation for Czech republic is compared with the allocations of the other member states of European Union and up to now drawing from structural funds/Cohesion fund is being evaluated. in the 17 operational programmes. The last chapter is focussed on impediments to a successful drawing.
Use of Structural Funds in municipalities with authorized municipal office focused on the South Bohemian Region

The aim of this thesis is to determine how successful the municipalities with authorized municipal office in South Bohemia region are in drawing financial resources from the EU structural funds. The first part is a theoretical insight into regional policy and a description of the structural funds. it introduces the goals of regional policy and outlines an overview of funds that may be used in the czech republic during the current programming period 2007-2013. The South bohemia region and its strategy for regional development introduction follows. The practical part of the thesis is an analysis of publicly available data, which is supplemented by an analysis of data collected by survey of municipalities with authorized municipal office and the comparison of the three selected communities in which the data on the utilization of structural funds, implemented plans, etc. were obtained through interviews. based on the results of this analysis, the success of funds utilization is evaluated in selected municipalities
Evaluation of companies and region relationships – case study Dioss Nýřany a.s., MD Elmont s.r.o., Lasselsberger s.r.o.

The target of this dissertation is the determinativ of positives and negative sof chosen companies in the specified region, and namely in two wals -- in relation to the company impal into the region and in relation to the region impact into the company. The pracitcal part of this work is focused on companies Dioss Nýřany, a.s., MD Elmont, s.r.o. and Lasselsberger, s.r.o. Possible positives and negatives are in this work determined across the sectors and region types. They are structured into the groups of "economic", "social" and "environmental" aspects. The work contains the komplete characteristics of chosen companies and as an integral part of this work there i salso the komplete characteristics of chosen region.
Richard Florida's Creative Class theory

The aim of the thesis is to introduce Richard Florida's Creative Class theory and the way we measure the Creativity Index or the indicator of creative environment and urban or region development potential. The thesis concerns creativity as a factor of the progress of society in the course of history and as well evaluates the approach to creativity today. Florida's theory is examined and some possible imperfections that can occur while measuring the Creativity Index are shown. Both academic and non-academic critiques on the subject are discussed.
Possibilities and limits to the development of tourism in Microregion Šumava - Západ

This Bachelor thesis examines the influence of tourism on regional development, and characterizes the tourist region Šumava and mainly contains an analysis of tourism in the Microregion Šumava - Západ. The practical part consists of interviews with the two mayors of the villages in the studied area and the evaluation to questionnaires from visitors of this microregion. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential of Microregion Šumava - Západ, particularly in terms of its natural and cultural attractions compared to other parts of Šumava, as well as to assess the current facilities for tourism and provide more options and limits to the development of summer and winter tourism in this microregion.
Urban development of Hradec Králové

This Bachelor's Thesis analyzes modern urban development of Hradec Králové. Thesis is based on literature and information from available sources, which evaluate development of the city and its current trends. A large part is devoted to the winning proposals of the latest urban competition in 2010 and is based on the opinions of local experts and stakeholders. Hradec Králové is an economic and cultural centre of the whole region. The city offers a high quality living environment with plenty of places for leisure time activities. The main objective is to find cultural and historical context that resulted in a unique structure of today's Hradec Králové. Earned knowledge of urban development will be summarized and evaluated into conclusion of the Bachelor's Thesis.
Evaluation of tourism development in the tourism areas of Zlín region

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the tourism areas in the Zlín region and to compare the tourism development in these areas. The theoretical part is focused on tourism and its relationship to the regional development and it briefly describes the situation of tourism in the Czech Republic. The practical part is devoted to the tourism in the Zlín region, whose analysis is based on data available from the Czech Statistical Office and on other information provided by the Zlín region. Using relevant data, the potential and the tourism development level in separate areas of the Zlín region are evaluated. For this evaluation are used methods such as analysis of statistical data, description or a synthesis of the knowledge obtained. From author's assumptions about strengths and weaknesses of each and every touristic area are derived some recommendations for continuing progress in the tourism. This thesis contains data and information published by the Czech Statistical Office, Regional Office and Czechtourism Office.
Influence of NIMBY Effect and Regional development on placing noxious facilities

NIMBY is widely used acronym for people's unwilingness to house noxious facilities in their immediate neighborhood. People feel that they are somewhat and they expect to be compensated for this. Goal of this thesis is to evaluate influence of monetary compensations on people's willingness to accept these facilities. Evaluates effects of Crowding Theory, extristic and intristic motivations on willingness to accept these facilities. Used method was qualitative analysis in form of controlled interviews with key stakeholders (mayor and town citizens). Author tries to evaluate if the NIMBY effect is the main reason for generally bad acceptance of this facilities. This thesis explores the NIMBY effect on construction of one of these facilities in town Chotíkov with a view on the gradual development of view throughout the population of this town.
Brownfields in Czech Republic, the possibilities of using brownfield sites on the practical example from Prague location

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to determinate the possibilities of using brownfield sites in Prague locations. Theoretical part of this thesis generally characterizes the areas of abandoned territory. This part also defines negatives of brownfields, description of the process of revitalization and its complications, the institutions dealing with these problems in the Czech Republic, shows financial possibilities and other terms which are associated with depressed areas. The next part of the thesis analyzes the situation of brownfields lands in the Czech Republic and in Prague. In the last part of this thesis there are two practical examples of a successful revitalization in Prague mentioned. These examples are comparing the differences between these projects, especially the attractiveness of the locality, financial options, duration of the revitalization and the size of the transformation of the objects.
Economic sites of sustainable development of cities

Abstract Sustainable development of cities and municipalities is currently very often mentioned in connection with the work of officials in towns and villages. In my work I will focus on the assessment and analysis of the city Tábor in terms of implementation of the principles of sustainable development into real city politics, especially the economic aspect. For clarity I will first generally refer to the criterias of sustainable development. Then I will choose the most important and will find out how these criterias are applied specifically in the town of Tabor. I will make an evaluation of the current situation and find out what the plans of the city in this area are for the future. Based on the analysis I will express my opinion on the current situation and suggest my proposals of solution for the next development cycle of the town from an economical point of view.
