The Municipal Solid Waste Management in South Bohemia Region at the Example of Two Towns
BARGER, Vít
This thesis deals with waste, especially with municipal waste and waste management issues. The practical part is focused on the financial aspects of waste management and processing of waste in Třeboň and Bechyně and also deals with issues of further processing of waste in the region. This thesis is supplemented with information about waste management of Písek, as a good example in the region. This information also served for better description of the municipal waste management in South Bohemia Region.
Life cycle of wooden structures
Pavlíková, Šárka ; Aigel, Petr (referee) ; Výskala, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with comparing the costs of construction of the timber and classical walling system throughout their life cycle. The first part introduces the history of timber, wood as a building material, processing of wood for building purposes, construction of wooden buildings, durability, removal and recycling of wooden buildings. The second part evaluates the cost of building a family house from both types of material and also cost of living in both buildings since their creation until their licvidation.
Recycling of PV panels
Cingel, Štefan ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Jandová, Kristýna (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses in its first part on the distribution of PV cells, their development and production processes. There are also generally described recycling methods and their basic division and the species that are commonly used. Finally, the thesis also mentions the current state of PV panels in the Czech Republic and the related legislative regulation. The second (experimental) part is devoted to the selection of suitable PV modules for recycling. On these panels was performed measuring of the V-A characteristics and electroluminescence analysis. In cooperation with Aquatest was carried out recycling of selected panels, and then on the crushed material was carried out spectral analysis. The last part is an evaluation of recycling from economic and practical aspects.
Recyclation of Plastics
Lasota, Ondřej ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
Plastic materials thanks to their properties like strength, durability, versatility and relatively low cost has gained this much popularity. With their constantly increasing amounts contribute to the waste. Most frequent method of waste disposal is landfill, which is due to plastic’s durability undesirable and causes serious problem for the environment. This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of secondary raw materials obtained from polymer waste. Large amounts of generated polymer waste can be appropriately designed methods processed to produce fuel, to modify asphalt mix and to reinforce concrete. Different methods are analyzed and their advantages and disadvantages are shown.
Characterization of Bottom Ash from Czech Waste-to-Energy Plants.
Krausová, Aneta
Our study summarizes the composition of bottom ash from two WtE plants in the Czech Republic. Bottom ash with particle size over 2 mm was characterized by combination of manual and mechanical analyses (e.g. magnetic separation, sieving, grinding, etc.). Bottom ash with particle size under 2 mm was analysed using scanning electron microscopy, to find its composition and to determine the form of comprised metals.

Comparison of economic and environmental aspects of waste management in selected municipalities of different sizes
HAVLOVÁ, Marie
The industrial development of our society pushes waste management into becoming an important part of both the economy as well as the environmental protection. It is essential to reduce the amount of waste which is being deposited in landfills without any further use. In the next 10 years it is necessary to completely eliminate waste disposal of the reusable waste and especially of the mixed municipal waste. This thesis focuses on the waste management of various types of municipalities. It aims to provide optimization of waste management, in the connection with economical and technical possibilities of various types of municipalities. This thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the issue of waste management in the course of history. It shows the various methods of waste disposal and describes the economic and environmental aspects and impacts in general. It briefly summarizes the development of waste management legislation. The second part of this thesis is focused on the analysis of waste management in selected municipalities. Twelve towns in three groups of different sizes were chosen. A survey of waste disposal and the influence of the size of the town and its technical options on the waste management was conducted. The results showed that municipalities have substantial reserves in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and also in the practical use of waste sorting. In the conclusion of this thesis suggestions to optimization of waste disposal are being presented.
Possibilities of development of materials based on heat-treated granular glass
Šottl, Jiří ; Brožovský,, Jiří (referee) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (advisor)
Currently, applications of recycled glass belong to the perspectice technologies of glass processing. As a raw material for the manufacture of products using recycled glass. The recycled glass is mostly produced sintered components and foam glass. The aim is to analyze the situation regarding the production of waste based on glass at home production and abroad and design technology, which had the benefit of such waste.
The usage of the recycled aggregates to roads from the point of view of economical and ecological conception
Trávníček, Dušan ; Varaus, Michal (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is based on decision making process connected with the usages of recycled and natural aggregates in a road construction. In the research I deal with the ways of recycling and their economic and environmental benefits for society. The practical part then uses this information to bring the real results.
Properties of polyethylene blown-films dependent on their composition
Štaffová, Martina ; Poláček, Petr (referee) ; Tocháček, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with the influence of quantity of recycled material on physical properties of blown-film. The task of this work is to prepare set of laboratory made films with amount of LLDPE granulate from 0 to 100 % with addition of LDPE recycled material and furthermore with addition of filler, calcite. The following methods were used for characterization of blown films: tensile test, differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy. The same measurements were performed also on industrial made blown-film.
