Case Study of physioterapy treatment of a patient after hemoragic stroke with left hemiparesis
Formánková, Dita ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Aronová, Lucie (referee)
Title: Case study of physioterapy treatment of a patient after hemoragic stroke with left hemiparesis. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to obtain academic findings about stroke concerning anatomy, pathology, therapetuic approaches and methods which can be utilised in cases of stroke. The specific part focuses on the therapeutic care of a patient after hemorragic stroke which was taken during a month practice at Rehabilitation clinic Malvazinky, Medditera s.r.o. Summary: The theory of the thesis discusses anatomy and pathology of human brain in terms of strokes. There is a brief mention of ischemic strokes and a detailed elaboration on hemorraghic strokes. Furthemore, the same part of the thesis epitomizes the risk factors and diagnosis of strokes. There is also a detailed treatise on the physioterapeutic care of stroke. The practice of the thesis introduces a case study of physioterapy treatment of a patient after hemoragic stroke with left hemiparesis. Keywords: Stroke, hemoragic stroke, hemiparesis, shoulder pain, physiotherapeutic technique and methods.
Case study of physical therapy care of patient after ischemic stroke
Čížková, Michaela ; Hnátová, Iva (advisor) ; Hankovcová, Eva (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after the ischemic stroke Objectives: The main aim of this study was to verify my ability to work with the patient, his examination, making conclusions, proposed treatment and its subsequent implementation. Other aim was mapping of the literature on the subject. Methods: The first part of my bachelor thesis is theoretical and it is aimed on stroke. There are described anatomy of cerebral artery, knowledge about stroke, its clinical symptoms and treatment options in this part. The description of spasticity with its influence on therapy and its treatment and the techniques used in physiotherapy are also there. The Brocca aphasia is described in the last section. The second part is the case report of a patient P. V. with diagnosis: ischemic stroke with dextral symptomatology. This special part is based on two weeks' work with the patient in the hospital (Ústřední vojenská nemocnice - Vojenská fakultní nemocnice Praha). This work lasted from 9th January 2012 to 3rd February 2012. The thesis includes: the entrance examination, the short-term and the long-term treatment plan, the descriptions of therapeutic units, the final examination, the comparison of the entrance and final examination and evulation of the therapy effect. The therapy was...
Case Study of physioterapy treatment of a patient after ischemic stroke with right-sided hemiparesis
Čulíková, Tereza ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Chmelíková, Jana (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after ischemic stroke with right-sided hemiparesis Objective: The main aim of this study is to analyze the theoretical knowledge about etiology, clinical symptoms, stages of disease and the following therapeutic methods used during treatment given to patients who suffered a brain stroke. Secondary, prooveing and veryfing my own capabilities in terms of communication with the pacient and his examination, lastly conducting conclusions and creating concepts of therapy treatments which were practically and subsequently applied. Method: The general part of my bachelor thesis contains theoretical knowledge about etiology, clinical symptoms, varieties and stages of ischemic brain strokes and the following options of therapeutic methods used on pacients with such diagnosis. The practical part of the thesis is based on my own study and care of a patient after ischemic brain stroke during my therapeutic observation and research in Rehabilitation Clinic of Malvazinky from 23. 1. 2012 to 17. 2. 2012. Results: Light improvement of fine motor skills, increase of myodynamia of the affected upper extremity involved in complex movement, general improvement of function of the dextral extremity in activities of daily living that implies increase of self-...
Possibilities of influencing spasticity in patients after stroke
Burdová, Karolína ; Savková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Němečková, Michaela (referee)
Author: Karolína Burdová Instituion: Rehabilitační klinika Fakultní nemocnice Hradec Králové Title: Ovlivnění spasticity u stavů po CMP Supervisor: Mgr. Pavlína Savková Number of pages: 74 Number of attachments: 3 Years of defence: 2012 Keywords: spasticity, stroke, muscle tone, movement Bachelor thesis discusses the influence of spasticity in patients after vascular brain event. The aim was to centre a text that summarizes the theoretical and practical information relating to the treatment of patients with VBE (stroke), in which one of the clinical symptoms of spasticity. The first part - theoretical - focuses on the anatomical and physiological information relating on the motor control, spasticity and vascular brain event. Control of movements is divided into subsections according to the level of the nervous system, from the lowest level - the spinal cord to the highest - cortex. Chapter VBE is divided by the emergence of haemorrhagic VBE and ischemic. The chapter is presented spasticity pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and its treatment. Therapy of spasticity is most devoted to theoretical work. The second part - practical - it provides examples of patients after VBE (stroke), in which one of the complications of spasticity. It is written in the form of case reports.
Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke
Zbořilová, Martina ; Bačáková, Radka (advisor) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
Title: Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to obtain, to analyse and process the data on the activity and involvement of selected measured muscles, working during one rowing stroke - in the drive part and in the recovery part. Methods: The work is processed by a kinesiological analysis of selected movement of the rowing stroke, based on the determination of muscle activation. Electromyography method was synchronized with the video recording. Results: Based on the sequences of the muscle activation was described their order and sequence in the actual shot of the rowing stroke (drive phase and recovery). We have proved that in the rigorous technical performance are always activated the same muscles in the exactly same order. Individual deviations from the correct technique in measuring appeared and thus enable their correction. Keywords: Electromyography, stroke, rowing, muscles.
The utilization of COPM in patients following an acute cerebrovascular attack
Košťálková, Olga ; Nováková, Olga (advisor) ; Svěcená, Kateřina (referee)
This paper deals with the utilization of Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) in clients following an acute cerebrovascular attack (stroke). The theoretical part examines the rules and circumstances of the rehabilitation of clients following the stroke and specific approaches that inspired COPM. This part also describes Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (history, key ideas, structure, and psychometric skills). The practical part investigates the effects of utilizing COPM in patients after an acute cerebrovascular attack and compares the results to the effects of usual occupational therapy examination with data analysis. The conclusion of the study focuses on the satisfaction of clients with the measure and the effect of measure for subsequent intervention and cooperation with occupational therapist. Key words: COPM, stroke, Client - centered practice, occupational performance, Canadian Model of Occupational Performance
