Influence of different types of broiler litter on their welfare
JANA, Václav
In our country and in the world poultry meat has a higher demand because of the price, taste, simple preparation and variety of cooking. Largely broiler are produced for human consumption of meat. Their time of growing is getting shorter, because of their death-rate, we want to provide them the best quality of their living. The subject of this bachelor´s thesis is to compare two different kinds of litterin 2014 on the farm in Čekanice and their effect on the chicken broiler welfare. Technology of living, facilities, kinds of litter and dividing welfare. Comparison of litter took place on the farm in Čekanice.
Salmonella infection in poultry and the national eradication programme
NOVOTNÁ, Marie
The topic of the thesis is the incidence of salmonella infections in poultry and National Recovery Programs that were established in the Czech Republic on the 1stofJanuary 2007 under the European legislation, specifically by Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council from the 17th of November 2003 about the reduction of Salmonella bacteria and other agents of zoonosis in the food chain. Currently five recovery programs oriented on the reduction of Salmonella are taking place in the Czech Republic. The basis of the programs is monitoring of Salmonella incidence in breeding via taking of samples. These programs were established in order to reduce the amount of cases of human Salmonella deseases because the poultry products are the most common source of the human infections. The programs could be considered effective. For this effectiveness is important to respect the principles of correct hygiene practices.
Comprehensive evaluation of best available techniques in the selected operation with poultry rearing and assessment of their economic impact.
JANOUŠEK, Tomáš
From agricultural activities produce a number of hazardous waste affecting the environment. One of them is ammonia produced by animals that are trying to reduce. The aim of this study is to compare the concentration of ammonia in barns with chickens for meat using electrochemically treated water. Furthermore, the aim of this work is to compare the BAT technology used in stables with BAT reference document and perform economic evaluation. Measurements were carried out on the farm Čekanice.
Market of selected organic commodities (organic meat)
LEŠTINOVÁ, Iva
This thesis deals with the organic livestock production in South Bohemian region. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the South Bohemian organic meat production, production of eggs and honey and distribution of the biocommodities. Through the processing of data from the database IAEI and questionnaire survey, conducted at the level of organic farmers farming in the South Bohemian region with a valid certificate for meat production, development and the current market situation of organic meat production were assessed in the South Bohemian region.
Environmental aspects of eggs production from point of view of greenhouse gasses emissions
KALKUŠ, Václav
The aim of the study is to compare poultry farming focused on either conventional or organic egg production. Detailed information has been gathered in particular organizations by the means of questionnaires and provided technical literature. We have concentrated on the monitoring of the emission impact on the environment, caused especially by feed material consumption, electricity consumption and farm dung management. Based on the gathered data the emission burden was calculated by the means of Ecoinvent database using CO2 equivalent. We have compared the individual systems of management and evaluated greenhouse gasses production. The main target of the thesis was to find out whether the production of organic eggs has smaller impact on the environment than the conventional one.
Processing and quality of turkey meat
ŠIKOVÁ, Jana
This thesis is focused on the quality and processing of turkey meat. The aim is to collate available information to the issue of farmed turkeys and turkey processing. In the search character I concern first with the description, origin of turkeys and way of farmkeeping. Next there is described the composition of turkey meat, which points to his popularity in society. The thesis includes the development status of turkeys in the last ten years compared with other types of poultry and turkey meat consumption in the Czech Republic and the world. In this thesis are characterized intravital effects on the meat quality, with other indicators of the quality of poultry meat. Next the thesis describes the technology of their own slaughtering and processing of turkeys. Its popularity makes for finalization of meat, which is briefly summarized in the end.
Processing chicken at slaughter
POŽÁRKOVÁ, Radka
Composition of poultry flesh and its purpose on human nutrition is described in this work. The quality and factors which affects quality are described further. HACCP system takes also important role. The end of this thesis is focused on poultry meat markets. The aim of this thesis was to study and describe chicken slaughtering process and processing of chicken carcass and determine the major share of the fleshy parts of broiler chicken carcass which means shares of breast muscles and tight muscles.
Influence of moulting on economy of layers breeding
AMEROVÁ, Veronika
Poultry breeding presents an important part of agricultural production. Its importance is growing in relation with globalization of market. Egg production is a very important part of that. After a period of stable growth of eggs production during 80{\crq}s and 90{\crq}s of last century, we can currently observe stagnation and decline of the production. Import of consumption eggs for dumping prices and very strict and difficult conditions for eggs production business in the frame of EU, seriously endanger future existence of eggs producers is the Czech Republic. The intention of each breeder of poultry for eggs production is to minimize the costs and maximize the production. An important tool for reaching this target is using the poultry for maximal possible period of time. That means for the second yielding cycle after molting. Although the yield of eggs during the second cycle is less frequent, the eggs are bigger and heavier. This method ensures costs savings in acquisition of new poultry. Any improvements during any faze of the eggs production, that would bring cost savings is highly appreciated. There was done a comparison of eggs production under the standard method and also under the method of using controlled molting and second yielding cycle. The project took three years. The key area of comparison was the ratio of expenses to production unit. ISA Brown poultry was used for the project. The objective was to verify the influence of molting to the efficiency of poultry in the second yielding cycle. I have focused on the economical results, such as average efficiency, costs intensity and realization price of eggs. The conclusion for the project is following: Controlled molting of layers is important economical tool to production costs savings. During the period of the project economical result (profit) achieved was higher for 617.414 Czk at the group of molted poultry, compared to the standard yielding group. The reasons are on the costs side, the most significant savings are: i) Acquisition of poultry (two times during the period of 3 years) ii) Lower costs of fodder iii) Costs of disinfection of breeding halls
Functional characteristics of broiler chickens and final hybrids
VÁCHOVÁ, Petra
Poultry meat is in the range of basic human nutrition. In human nutrition has a significant position mainly due to its composition. It is especially valuable for high-quality protein. They are very easily digested and contain all the essential amino acids. Aim of this study was a comprehensive analysis of the level of commercial properties in broiler chickens and their final hybrids. The analysis can bring about recommendations for breeders in the selection of suitable hybrid combinations in our conditions. Parental self-test forms consisted of rearing parents until the age of 154 days, the laying period of 280 days and four sub-fattening progeny tests. Rearing, laying and fattening progeny took place in the hall without windows, with deep bedding with controlled lighting and air conditioning regimen. The tests were performed 4 sub-fattening progeny tests using a load of 17.2 units chickens/1m2, length of fattening period was 35 days. The data were obtained with the consent of management of the primary data a comprehensive report of international tests and parental forms of broiler fattening sub-tests carried out in the final hybrid MTD Ústrašice for the years 1995 to 2009. These tests were made by MTD and methodology based on the guidelines for the implementation of performance tests of poultry. The data obtained were classified, summarized, and then the variation statistically using STATISTICA version 6. By comparing the results obtained from the parents and fattening tests it can be stated that, overall, the best combinations were Ross 308 and Cobb 500.
