Gothic mural painting in castle chapels in Bohemia
Čechová, Lucie ; Hlaváčková, Jana Hana (advisor) ; Royt, Jan (referee)
This work is an investigation of Czech Gothic murals in castle chapels in Bohemia. The key for including of a mural to the catalogue was the founding date between early middle-ages up to the year 1526; end of the hegemony of the Jagellon dynasty amongst Bohemian Kingdom. The core of the work is a comprehensive catalogue of such murals. Included are 12 localities where these murals can be found, dating through 300 years of the middle-ages. Not included in this catalogue are the three well-documented sacral spaces in Karlštejn castle, although they also fit the time period in question. It must be acknowledged that the Karlštejn chapel murals are key elements in understanding this style and era, due to their quality and influential nature. This essay sought to isolate and explore any specific typology in this class of artwork. However, it must be stated that no such unique common character exists. The murals are more a reflection of the requirements and tastes of the individual patrons; they also express the fashion of their particular eras. There are also discrepancies in quality, which vary from century to century. In the 14th century, the quality of the investigated murals cannot be compared to that of paintings in the court of the King. However, by the late 15th and 16th centuries, the quality of murals...

Hybrid Model for Regulating Carbon
Ashrafullina, Ksenia ; Hrubý, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Ščasný, Milan (referee)
The objective of this dissertation is to review the instruments used to reduce carbon emissions, discuss the emission trading introduced by the European Emission Trading System and tentatively suggest further improvements. We shall look at carbon emissions as a negative externality and explore the theoretical foundations of carbon taxation and cap-and-trade systems as well as their possible interactions, conflicts and synergies. We shall also look at the risks associated with using carbon regulation in the ELI, mainly carbon leakage and lack of international compliance with regulatory mechanisms, especially in the developing countries. On a practical side, we shall focus on the structure and performance of the carbon reduction policies during the three phases - NAP1, NAP2 and NAP3, paying close attention to free allocation and auctioning. Finally we shall discuss risk-reduction methods, focusing on a potential hybrid model combining both cap-and-trade and taxation with a percentage of the revenues redistributed to the developing world to stimulate climate change agenda.

Úprava státních podpor v rámci pravidel Evropské unie
Mikušová, Jana
The control of state aid from the EU is an essential component of the competition policy and vital part of an effective competition and free trade. Despite its importance, this area of competition law lacked behind in the scientific research compared to the research of the regulation of cartels and abuse of dominant position. Being explored in the thesis is the notion of state aid, then how is this concept defined in the legislation, case law and literature with a particular focus on small and medium-sized businesses and agribusinesses. Dissertation analyzes the development of state aid in the current period, mainly how the European institutions respond to changing economic conditions. The thesis is divided into several logical parts. The first part describes the methodology and methods used in the work such as the Coase's Theorem and the case study and it explains how the relation between law and economics works. The second part focuses on primary and secondary legislation concerning state aid. The third part deals with the analysis of the concept of state aid in terms of existing law and the development of understanding of the concept in the past. The fourth part deals with current changes in the allocation of state aid. The conclusion discusses the results and problematic areas to be focused on by the EU institutions are proposed.

Ackerman, Lukáš ; Jelínek, Emil (advisor) ; Faryad, Shah Wali (referee) ; Becker, Harry (referee)
The purpose ofthis dissertation is geochemical study ofupper mantle rocks at two sites from diÍlěrent geological settings of the Bohemian Massif (Czech Repub|ic) - Koziíkov and Homí Bory. The first part of dissertation represents a review of petrological and geochemical studies of upper mantle Íocks found in the Bohemian Massi{ which have been pub|ished or presented so far' These include information about ýpe and occuÍTences of mantle{erived rock with individual Bohemian Massif units and summarized present state of knowledge on depletion and metasomatism ofthese rocks. The principal questions related to the mantle beneath the Bohemian Massif which remďn opened are presented at the end of this part. The most important paÍt of the dissertation represents three comprehensive papers on geochemical studies of upper mant|e rocks from Koziíkov and Horní Bory. In the second part, a geochemical study of major elements, trace elements, and Sr-Nd isotopes combined with mineral chemistry of upper mantle xenoliths from the Koziíkov volcano have been presented. This unique suite of xenoliths samples upper 2/3 of the upper mantle in this region and, therefore' provides a great possibility to study uppeÍ mantle composition variations with depth. The results show that upper mantle beneath Koziíkov volcano underwent...

Electrospinning of Modified Biopolymers for Medical Applications
Kultivované buňky lidského papilárního adenokacinomu plic prokázaly dobrou adhezi a proliferaci k povrchu nanovláken.

The Use of Guerilla in Culture
Mitošinková, Barbora ; Černá, Jitka (advisor) ; Krejčí, Hana (referee)
The main topic of my bachelor thesis is the use of guerilla in culture and my research objective is to find out whether there exist assumptions, reasons, and inspirational positive experience supporting the use of guerrilla marketing in cultural organizations. I try to analyze guerrilla marketing in the context of cultural organizations and its possible application with respect to the decreasing efficiency of traditional marketing. Because of the strong interdependence between guerrilla and traditional marketing I explore this relationship by means of the marketing mix. Then I present the results of the survey based on responses from cultural organizations, contributory organizations in particular. The questions addressed to cultural organizations were focused on their knowledge of guerrilla marketing and their current, past or planned use of guerrilla marketing. I present two case studies: one from Italy, the other one from the Czech Republic to show inspirational and positive experience with guerrilla. In conclusion I deal with preparation, implementation and evaluation of my own guerrilla campaign. My desire to contribute to the discussion about guerrilla marketing in culture is, among other things, motivated by my personal favor and preference of imaginative, unique and functional marketing.

This dissertation concentrates on several special aspects of the dramatic works of Federico García Lorca. There are four dominant themes: the aggression, the death, the masculine and feminine element and the. The "material" is made up by following dramas: Bodas de sangre, Mariana Pineda, Doa Rosita la soltera, Yerma, La casa de Bernarda Alba, Amor de don Perlimplín con Belisa en su jardín, La zapatera prodigiosa. The results of the own investigation is preceded by the chapter which recapitulates the conclusions of the exploration of the themes up to the present day. This accesses are comentated: psychoanalytic method, fenomenologic and and hermeneutic method, sociocultural and anthropological method, autobiographic and hermeneutic method, folkloric and symbolic method. The first chapter which deals with the aggression in Lorca's dramatic works focuses on the malign aggression and presents the symbols and metaphors associated with the malign aggression. It comments the aggressivity and the immanency and the potenciality of the aggression. The second chapter investigates the representation of the death inklusive the symbols, images and presages of the death. A particular attention is dedicated to the types of the death, to the fatality and the parsonification of the death. The third chapter concentrated on...

Measurement of customers´ profitability in corporate banking
Vacek, Petr ; Šoljaková, Libuše (advisor) ; Wagner, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pražák, Patrik (referee)
The dissertation thesis aims to establish a complex theoretical basis for a measurement of customer's profitability which can be easily used in the practice. The main reason for that is the absence of such publication in the current academic sphere. A combination of management accounting and knowledge of banking enables to achieve the aim. The thesis itself is closely linked to the banking practice. There are derived customer's profitability indicators as modifications of the popular RAROC in which a customer margin is used instead of net profit. There is designed a simplified way of operational cost allocation. Questionnaires and interviews with senior representatives of seven Czech banks helped to identify the most significant labor-intensity factors of corporate customers. The description of principal features of risk costs and derivation of formulas for profitability variances are also the part of the thesis. The theoretical part is followed by the practical one where a contemporary banking practice of corporate customer's profitability measurement on the Czech market is explored. It identified three weak points -- cost allocation, profitability variances and one-year horizon of a calculation. At the end, the theoretical basis is applied on an existing customer portfolio and the result is compared with a currently used customer's profitability measurement.
