Pitnerová, Lenka ; Majerová, Markéta (referee) ; Micková, Marie (advisor)
In this thesis is described Physiotherapy of obese patients. The prevalence of obesity prevails in all layers of the population due to lifestyle in modern times and growing nature. Health personnel in their practices normally encounter with obese patients for their numerous health complications. Part of my thesis is a description of what causes obesity, its examination methods, and the health risks involved. Detailed are described therapeutic methods, especially movement therapy. My main goal was to summarize the possibilities of physical therapy and movement therapy, to apply these theoretical knowledge into practice and assess their importance for example comparison of cognitive-behavioral therapy or diet. That is why I have introduced as a special part of the case report two patients suffering from overweight. In both cases, I individually according to physiotherapeutic examination (back pain, knee, flat arch, improving breathing function,...) chose an appropriate movement activity and generally tried to enrich the range of motion activities of the patient. Both were able to increase activity levels. There was weight loss that started a lifestyle change for both patients.

Nýdrle, Tomáš ; Ježek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Běláčková, Vendula (referee)
HIV/AIDS is a real threat for Sub-Saharan Countries. It increased adult mortality substantially. HIV/AIDS pandemic causes the death of the most productive part of affected population. Human capital passing on to future generations is limited. Low economic performance and income inequality induce higher HIV vulnerability. Contra wise HIV/AIDS has significant negative effect on the welfare of affected population. The sources of pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa are not only social and cultural. Health and nutrition situation play considerable role. Holistic approach based on education, fidelity, abstinence and improvement of economic situation and moderate condom use (as the last way of prevention) seems to be an effective way of pandemic elimination.

Funding of Health Care Service of Federal Republic of Germany
Adámková, Klára ; Stará, Dana (advisor) ; Jindřich, Jindřich (referee)
Financing healthcare is a problem not only in Germany but in many countries of Europe. Increasing total expenditure of health care resulted from many reasons, such as the aging population and the associated declining number of young people who contribute to the system. Another problem of financing health care, are ever increasing prices of medical devices, drugs, materials and energy. Since the beginning of the health system, Germany has been trying to stabilize the system through many reforms. The largest part of the revenues of the health system consists of contributions from members of statutory social insurance. Yet in Germany, financial participation in patients was implemented almost from the beginning of the health care system. Private costs are the second largest holder of health costs. Over the last 20 years, Germany has been among the countries that have a relatively balanced budget for financing health care. Among the most advanced countries in the world, which is seen in total expenditure of health care, had these expenses in recent years at around 11 percent of GDP.

The intergenerational relationships between senior citizens living in retirement homes and their families and friends in the town of Humpolec
VESELSKÁ, Kateřina
Abstract The intergenerational relationships between senior citizens living in retirement homes and their families and friends in the town of Humpolec Aging and senior citizens are currently topical subjects. The population is aging and society should be prepared for this phenomenon. This shall bring about changes in various spheres and fields, such as health care and social services, and also in the relationships in and functioning of today{\crq}s family. The thesis ``The intergenerational relationships between senior citizens living in retirement homes and their children and friends in the town of Humpolec{\crqq} is devoted to the functioning of intergenerational relationships between senior citizens and their families and friends. The theoretical section deals with, first of all, the definition of the term senior citizens, their standing in society and the increasing number of senior citizens of a greater age. It emphasizes important health and mental changes that accompany old age and also characterizes the importance and types of activities and aging. It presents the results and findings of up to now research dealing with intergenerational relationships. For greater clarity and distinction, it divides these relationships into intergenerational relationships between senior citizens and their children, senior citizens and their grandchildren, senior citizens and their siblings, and senior citizens and their friends. Intergenerational relationships are primarily formed within a family, which is why one chapter is devoted to families, their functioning, and their importance. The next to last chapter in the theoretical section emphasizes the importance of the quality of life, which significantly influences and affects intergenerational relationships. The last chapter is devoted to retirement homes for senior citizens, and also the important changes that were brought about by Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on Social Services. The empirical section is devoted to the carrying out of qualitative research. An in-depth interview was the method that was utilized. Interviews were carried out with ten senior citizens in two retirement homes; in the Blessed Bronislav Retirement Home and the Humpolec Retirement Home on Lužická Street. Interviews with six senior citizens took place in the first named retirement home and the remaining four interviews took place in the latter named retirement home. The findings of the research reveal how intergenerational relationships function, and what affects and forms them. The findings present the relationships between senior citizens and their children, their quality and frequency, their relationships with their grandchildren, and in some cases their great grandchildren, and with their siblings and friends. The findings show the stress of first coming to a retirement home and the importance of a family and/or friends when taking this step in life. The findings of the research emphasize the importance of activities in old age and the important areas of changes in one{\crq}s health and mental state, when changes in one area affect other areas and the quality of life of senior citizens. The quality of life is also assuredly affected by the financial situation of senior citizens, which this thesis also deals with. Another factor is the surroundings in which senior citizens living in retirements homes live in. This thesis also deals with this issue.

Equivalence in the health insurance
Bišof, Milan ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
This dissertation considers the issue of equivalence and the related matter of solidarity in the health insurance sector. The used methodology is an analysis on the basis of which the specific causes of the current state of the healthcare system are investigated. The initial chapters focus on the theoretical basis and insurance principles in general, and then health insurance in more detail. The individual systems (models) of healthcare, which are compared with the aim of finding the optimum method of financing the healthcare sector, are then described. The analytical section looks at the current state of healthcare in the Czech Republic and the main problems it faces: an ageing population and constantly rising healthcare costs, which are slowly becoming uncontrollable. Healthcare reform, which began on 1 January 2008 with the introduction of regulation fees, is also evaluated. A great deal of attention is paid to fees because the legality of their introduction is being settled by the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. In conclusion, the author outlines a healthcare system that would be, in his opinion, more financially manageable, and just more equitable and fair.

Patients with implanted cardioverter defibrillators
HEŘMANSKÁ, Marie
This Bachelor Thesis deals with the issue of implantable cardioverter defibrillator usage, namely with the impact of implantable cardioverter defibrillator on patient life and the details of nursing care in scope of implantation of these devices. The implantable cardioverter defibrillator (hereinafter referred as to "ICD") enables to prevent or avert heart failure which affects approximately 2 % of population. Nearly 3/4 of cases of sudden death take place at home and 2/3 of these cases are witnessed by other person. Indications for the ICD implantation are severe malignant ventricular tachycardia (ventricular tachycardia, fibrillation and chamber flutter) which rapidly lead to the circulation failure, unconsciousness and, finally, death. The rapid termination of such arrhythmias by ICD saves the life of its holder. The diagnostics shall commence by the standard electrocardiogram (ECG). The field study of the Bachelor Thesis includes results of the qualitative research based on the semi structured interview. The research group contained thirteen patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillator, residing in Středočeský kraj (Central Bohemia Region) and Jihočeský kraj (South Bohemia Region), who have had their ICD at least for a year. All respondents were asked ten basic questions as a part of the interview. The interviews were recorded over voice recorder and subsequently were directly transcribed to text. The interviews were processed while using the open coding, paper and pencil method. The data analysis produced five categories: Difficulties before the implementation of ICD, Changes in lifestyle after the implementation of ICD (with subcategories of Life certainties, Common activities, Employment, Driving and State of mind), Defibrillator shock, Nursing care and Importance of ICD for patients. The research shows that patients are predominantly satisfied with the nursing care. Nearly all respondents do not feel the need for increased nursing care while being in hospital. Patients greatly appreciated the wound care all respondents were satisfied with this precise type of care as no complications did occur while healing and the wounds healed per primam. I see imperfections in the patient education although ten patients state that they were duly informed, they were informed only by their doctor. Only one patient states that he was given "certain" information from the nurse. However, these results may be misrepresented by patients due to the time lapse (from the hospitalization). Furthermore, the research shows that ICD device does not influence common activities of majority of respondents. Nearly all respondents experience mental relief and the improvement of life quality. The respondents do not consider the restriction connected to the ICD usage to be negative. The majority of them try to observe given advices (in scope of driving, travelling, magnetic security systems, etc.) which do not restrict them in their common life significantly. Even though their disease is severe and endangers their life, the patients with these devices may travel abroad, do sports, work and live their normal life with less risk of sudden heart failure. Twelve respondents out of thirteen consider the ICD to be of great significance to their life. The outcome of this Bachelor Thesis is the Guide for ICD Patients.
