Foreigners in the Czech labour market

This thesis is focused on the study into the status of foreigners in the Czech labour market. It is divided in two consecutive units, the first of which contains a theoretical basis for the functioning of labor markets (segments of the labour market, the historical context of labour migration in our country and the legislative framework applicable to the economically active foreigners in the Czech Republic). Another section is devoted to analytical exploration of the topic. It is dealt with the structure of foreign nationals (employment offices registered with a valid trade license), by nationality, age, gender, level of education, type of work performed, etc. For the purpose of this research the author comes out of the available data published by the Czech Statistical Office, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and other sources. One aim is to present the development of the monitored data in a particular period and its subsequent analysis.

The monitoring of grant projects of the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme by the Intermediate Body of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic

This thesis is focused on financial side of grant projects which are supported by the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme. This Operational Programme draws financial resources from European Social Fund. In the Czech Republic the administration of all the projects in question is coordinated by Managing Authority which is Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Intermediate Body is in the responsibility of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. The text describes the eligible expenses, the process payment transactions and the control system. In the conclusion the thesis summarizes current problems of drawing resources from the Structural Funds. These funds have been quite unknown and stil in the process of the improvement in our country. To eliminate many deficiencies in realization there have been organised many specialized workshops and seminars for beneficiaries and at the same time from the Managing Authority have been specified the methodical instructions.

Analysis of Secondary Education in Prague with Emphasis on the Labour Market Requirements

This bachelor thesis is focused on the secondary education, specifically in the capital of the Czech Republic -- In Prague. The main aim is to discover whether the secondary school leavers find good position for their career on the employment market in Prague. The document is divided into four chapters. The first explains the term education, its structure and legislative background. The second chapter considers the secondary education in the Czech Republic in general and the third specifies the secondary education in Prague with the intention of the secondary school graduates. The fourth chapter defines the labour market in Prague and analyses the impletion of the employment market by the graduates. The conclusion deals with the questions which were asked in the introduction of the paper and summarizes whether all the aims of the work were fulfilled. The thesis is prepared on the basis of data from the Czech Statistical Office, Ministry of Education, Institute for Information on Education, National Institute of Technical and Vocational Education, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and county yearbooks.

Internet labour market (in the Czech Republic)

The subject of this thesis is internet labour market in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate the online job market and the tools used by university degree applicants in search for jobs and tools used in online recruitment and selection of employees including future trends outlines. The theoretical part explains the terms such as labour market, online technology and social networks phenomenon and their expected future trends with the help of professional literature. The practical part is based on qualitative research analysing behaviour of the sample of the respondents on the job market and a recruiter work processes in a large media company. The information obtained from the respondents should serve as a recommendation for employers recruiting and selecting employees. The conclusion summarizes the main points resulting from the analysis including the possible online job market trends.

The Comparison of Unemployment in Hradec Králové Region and Pardubice Region

Unemployment is a social and economic problem and almost every country in the world has to face it. The Czech Republic has to face that problem as well; hence the topic of this bachelor thesis is to compare unemployment in two regions: Hradec Králové Region and Pardubice Region. These two regions were selected for comparison as they have many geographical and demographical traits in common. The purpose of the thesis is to explain unemployment in both regions by selected demographical and other traits. In the first chapter, both regions are described. Description of different types of unemployment can be found in the second chapter and the third chapter deals with data collection methods. The fourth chapter, which is practically oriented, contains comparison of unemployment in both regions from different perspectives by using the most appropriate statistical methods. Datasets, which were used for this thesis, were obtained from the online database of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and from the website of the Czech Statistical Office. The presented calculations, graphs and tables were created in MS Excel.

The work focuses on active employment policy 2008-2010. In the theoretical part the basic terms related to the labor market. The analytical part focuses on the characteristics of the Ústí nad Orlicí, analysis of the labor market, the structure of unemployment and evaluation of active employment policy. We used the data obtained from the Czech Statistical Office, Integrated portal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the reports of the Labour Office in Ústí nad Orlicí and Employment Office in Pardubice.

The comparison of unemployment in the Central Bohemia region and in the Usti region

Unemployment is one of the biggest economic and social problem of the present day and not only on territory of monitored regions, but on the whole world. The bachelor work is focused on comparison of the unemployment in Central Bohemia region and Usti region. In the methodological part are defined basic terms and formulas which are both used in the analytical part. The analytical part compares the socio-economic statistics of population in the surveyed regions by using data from Czech statistical office and Ministry of labour and social affairs. The objective of this bachelor work is to create summarizing view of unemployment in both Central Bohemia and Usti region.

Comparison of unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian Region and in the capital city Prague in 2005-2009

Unemployment is one of the major economic problems of today. Bachelor thesis compares unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian Region and the city of Prague. These regions are chosen because they Moravian-Silesian Region has long been regarded as the region with the highest unemployment rates and Prague with the lowest unemployment rate in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to analyze the evolution of unemployment in both regions and individual districts Moravian-Silesian Region in the years 2005-2013 from several perspectives. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part deals with the characteristics of both the studied regions, concepts related to unemployment and time series. The second, practical part analyzes unemployment using appropriate statistical methods. The data is obtained from the public portal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

The analysis of secondary education in the Liberec region, with emphasis on demographic trends and labour market requirements

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze secondary schools in the Liberec region. Emphasis is placed primarily on whether it is secondary education in the Liberec region able to respond to demographic change and whether it conforms to the requirements of the labour market. The first chapter is devoted to the definition of education and review legislation and educational policy documents of the Czech Republic. The content of second chapter is a description of the current situation of secondary education, its development since 1989 and current trends. In the third chapter are analyzed Secondary Education of the Liberec Region in relation to demographic trends and labor market demands. The final chapter answers the questions. The paper used data from the Czech Statistical Office, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, National Institute of Technical and Vocational Education and Institute for Information on Education.

Selected Characteristics of Labour Market in Connection with Population Ageing

Bachelor thesis is concerned with labour market with regard to effects of population ageing in the Czech Republic. Together with introduction of terminology from the area of demography and economics it describes trends on labour market and presents analysis of population dynamics in 1950-2009. The ageing on labour market for last sixty years is summarized there. The thesis is focused on use of existing predictions till 2060 and their comparison. Three independent population projections (from the Czech Statistical Office, Eurostat and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs) are considered. Their comparison is implemented by calculation of total dependency ratio, senior and junior dependency ratio, eventually by second economic generation and population pyramids. Moreover, second economic generation is modelled in several variants as it follows progressive shift of labour market entry because of increasing length of education and, on the other end, shift of retirement age: age limits 20-64, 20-69, 23-64 and 23-69 completed years.
