The influence of KPÚ on the degree of ÚSES realization in selected extensively used agricultural parts of South Bohemian region
SEKALOVÁ, Martina
The present study deals with evaluation of complex land adjustments on ecological stability of an extensively used agricultural area. The study was made in Prasetín area (district Tábor). Following given parameters a comparison of initial, projected and real situation was made. Afterwards, the area was surveyed in detail in order to compare projected and real situation. The comparison revealed significant changes in a web of ecosystem stability function before and after land adjustment. By a zonation method the landscape was divided into geoecological sites that were integrated in bioecological zones A, B, C, D. The ecocritical zones leading to ecocritical situations were determined between unsmooth transitions of bioecological zones.

Landscape character and perception of Nuclear power plant Temelin by Southbohemian population
Bartoš, Michael ; Kušová, Drahomíra ; Těšitel, Jan
The nuclear power plant of Temelín can be seen as an unusual landscape feature in rural landscape of South Bohemia. The paper discusses a process of adaptation of local community to the nuclear power plant. Based on data gained within sociological survey in the year 2004, local community seems to manifest some degree of adaptation to the given situation. In the context of landscape ecology, “visual aggressiveness” of plant’s cooling towers reaching the height of 155 meters evokes the feeling of subconscious disquiet and is perceived as main change of south-bohemian landscape character.

The Collectivization of Dobřejovice, a commune near Hluboká
JANEČEK, Vít
This bachelor paper explores the early phase of collectivization in the commune of Dobřejovice near Hluboká nad Vltavou, covering the general aspects of the process as well as the experiences of one harshly victimized family. The theoretical part begins with a general outline of agricultural development in the first half of the 20th century, including the collectivization campaign in the Czechoslovak Republic after 1948. The paper's research is focused on changes in farming and some consequences of collectivization in a small South Bohemian village, with due attention to the hard impact it had on the so-called "kulaks". Based on the specialised literature and rich archive materials from the State District Archives in České Budějovice, in my paper I aim to give an objective description of the period, with respect for historical fact.

The impact of blackout on South Bohemia region
SMEJKAL, Pavel
The thesis is concerned in problem that can occure after a blackout. The South Bohemia region was chosen as the area of blackout impacts. The theoretical part of the work describes a critical infrastructure, whose part electrical energy is. It also learns about the electricity supply system in the Czech Republic and explains what is considered to be a blackout. The research is made in two levels. First there are processed baground researches of selected blackouts in the world and consequently the impacts of possible blackout in the South Bohemia are examined. The method of guided interview was used to make a questionnaire. The guided interviews were made with a few specialists. The questionnaire results are analysed and the possible consequences of blackout in the South Bohemia region are described. The main purpose of the work was ? The description of a blackout in the South Bohemia region?. The aim was fulfilled and a blackout in the South Bohemia region was described. The thesis worked with two hypothesis. The study of epigenetic regulation of gene HLA II. Clas within family relationships
Chmel, Martin ; Černá, Marie (advisor) ; Urbanová, Jana (referee)
Introduction: At our post-genomic era the studies of epigenetic regulation constitutes one of the tools for understanding the function of genes. Epigenetic regulation can directly control the temporal and spatial gene activity or silencing. The molecular basis of these regulations are DNA bases modifications, chromatin remodeling and RNA interference. At the same time, these mechanisms have a special way of transferring genetic information to subsequent generations called epigenetic inheritance. It has been proven epigenetic deregulation of certain genes as cause for many disease. For this reason, the study of epigenome HLA genes seems particularly important because these genes play a fundamental role in regulating the immune system. Aims: The aim of this work is to create a description of epigenetic modifications within families. It is an analysis of histone modifications and DNA methylation in the promoter region of the gene HLA DQA1. The aim was also to compare the differences in epigenetic modifications between alleles and compared the differences in these modifications between generations. The results will be compared with the analysis of the level of expression of the gene HLA DQA1. Methods: From collected peripheral blood of donors were isolated DNA, RNA, and leukocytes. DNA was used for...

Neither Old, Nor New: The Southern Belle Archetype in Lillian Hellman's Birdie Hubbard from The Little Foxes and Tennessee Williams's Blanche Dubois from A Streetcar Named Desire
Soukupová, Markéta ; Ulmanová, Hana (advisor) ; Veselá, Pavla (referee)
The aim of this BA thesis is to describe the origins of the Old South's archetypal feminine ideals and how they were altered in the course of time. In what follows, I will attempt to explain how the Southern Belle myth became (re-)defined, enacted and/or maintained throughout the era of the Antebellum, Post-Bellum and New South perspective. The thesis will employ literary theory, namely in respect to relevant archetypal definitions that will be applied to the specific Southern Belle figures, as well as historical, social and cultural studies. Finally, feminist and gender theories will be utilized in order to demonstrate how the cultural archetype of the Southern Belle served as a socially constructed norm enforcing women's passivity and submission to patriarchy. After the introductory chapter, which will present the American South and its inhabitants as a distinct cultural entity, chapter two will discuss the aims and methodology of the thesis and the basic terminology that is essential for the Southern Belle concept. Chapter three shall afterwards briefly introduce the specific constructs of the Post-Bellum (Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes) and New South (Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire) Belles in relation to their concrete socio-historical contexts. Chapter four will then consist...

THE RURAL ARCHITECTURE NOWADAYS
POLÁKOVÁ, Vendula
My diploma work purpose is to frame and describe the development of some monuments of rural architecture in region {\clqq}Podšumaví``. In the first chapter I briefly open the main topic of the work. More detailed description of typical features of rural buildings is presented in next part, concentrated on specific area - the South Bohemia. In this range I aimed the focus especially on mikroregion {\clqq}Volyňsko`` and {\clqq}Vlachobřezsko``. Jakub Bursa, the bricklayer´s master, worked in this area in the second third of the 19th century and influenced on the final figure of local architecture. The principles of the bricklayer´s guild {--} J. Bursa was a member of it {--} are mentioned in the third chapter. Tha last and main part of this diploma work is presented by the state protected collection of rural architecture in the village {\clqq}Zechovice``. In this place we can understand the development of particular buildings in various moments of its history up to now (it depends on the fact, if the period documents are reachable). I also think about the possible, but not proved authorship of J. Bursa´s work in the case of some mentioned buildings. At the end of this part I remind the consequences of the state protection of buildings in the village.
