Discharge coefficient of slit weirs
Havran, David ; Žoužela, Michal (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
This work deals with experimental research, with outcomes of design and recommendation for determination of the discharge coefficient of the slit weir. At the same time states the possible effects on capacity. Then comparing the data with already existing ones. The thesis provides an overview and insight into the meaning of slit weirs as well. The goal is to recommend the determination of the discharge coefficient.
Influences on flowing fluid and hydrodynamic instabilities
Kallas, Miloš ; Havlásek, Michal (referee) ; Štefan, David (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the description of the hydrodynamic effects that arise from the flow of fluids. These are the effects that surround us and may be seen in our everyday lives. For each effect there is an outlist of real applications that operate on the principle of gi-ven effects. The thesis is ended with the Reynold‘s experiment.
Modeling two-phase bubble flow in microfluidics
Stehlík, Martin ; Kozák, Jiří (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of submitted thesis is to perform a computer simulation of bubble creation in T-channel. In the first section of the paper, the theoretical applications of microfluidic bubble, micromachines and droplet formation are described. In the second part of the text, author uses cross flowing method for simulation od bubble creation. Furthermore, several settings in computer simulation software Fluent are mentioned. In addition, the influence of velocity at the T-channel inlet on surface tension and on bubble length is presented.
Description of bubble behavior in liquid column
Münster, Filip ; Sluše, Jan (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes behavior of bubbles in liquid column. In the first part are introduced basic terms and forces which influence the motion, shape and behavior of the bubble. The second part is devoted to derivation of relations for mathematical model of the bubble motion and the model realization. In the last part the model is compared with experiment.
Design of microfluidic mixer
Abrahám, Martin ; Fialová, Simona (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
Microfluidic devices are more frequently being used in medicine as they operate with small amounts of test samples, such as blood or reagent chemicals. To work with such substances, effective mixing of the solution is usually required, which emerged as the most challenging problem in microfluidic systems. Due to the minor dimensions of the devices only laminar flow occurs, thus the turbulent eddies do not contribute to the mixing, but only the molecular diffusivity.
Design of Aircraft in Accordance with FAR 103 Regulation
Tomala, Daniel ; Kouřil, Martin (referee) ; Píštěk, Antonín (advisor)
This diploma work considers conceptual design of aircraft in accordance in FAR 103 regulation. On the base of statistical dates has been made basic geometrical and aero-dynamical concept of a single occupant aircraft. For conception have been chosen optimal driving force and bases calculations of the load pressure and dimensions are included.
Analysis of wind effect on slender engineering structures
Tomeček, Petr ; Kala, Jiří (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
Master thesis deals with the analysis of wind effect on high slender engineering structures. There are explained important knowledge of the flow theory and compared each turbulent models according to relation of Reynolds and Strouhal number. The point of separation i salso defined. All necessary calculations are made in the ANSYS systém.
Verification of thermal-insulation properties of the foil materials
Šot, Petr ; TROJAN,, Karel (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with verification of thermal insulating property of thermoreflection foil insulations. The teoretical part of thesis focuses on the energy demand of buildings, the problems of heat transfer material, terms required for study of thermoreflection thermal insulation and experimental methods for determination of thermal insulating properties of insulators. In the next part the chapter is accompanied by an overview of the most common insulation materials which used in construction. The last part of teoretical part is devoted to the description of thermoreflect formation and analysis of the spread of thermal insulating layers of thermoreflection thermal insulation. The first part of thesis is devoted to the use of thermoreflection therm insulation in buildings. The second part of thesis is devoted to the design, assembly and calibration of the measuring device that uses a method of protected warm chamber. It is declared as a binding method of detection of the heat transfer performance of thermoreflection thermal insulation. The developed measuring device allows detection of endpoints in some direction of propagation of heat. Measurment of heat transfer coefficient devoted the third part of practical part. This part contains a description of the samples used for the measurement of the heat transfer coefficient. In the fourth chapter of the practical part are presented the results of the heat transfer coefficient measurments on selected samples of thermoreflection foil insulation. It is shown the characteristic of heat transfer coefficient of individual samples, the dependence of the heat transfer coefficient on the position of the sample in the measuring device and the recommendation of an appropriate use of sample in the works for the climatic conditions of the Czech republic. The work concludes the chapter of comparing and evaluating of all samples with practical recommendations.
Flow measurement of air by multiport averaging probes
Šimák, Jakub ; Uher, Miroslav (referee) ; Šedivá, Soňa (advisor)
Master work deals with the measurement of fluid flow (particularly air) pipe, with orifice and multiport averaging probe. The theoretical part is followed by practical, which verifies the properties of the measured system. In a next part of semestral work are verifies the properties of multiport averaging probes Vavra s.r.o. MQS-011 and Rosemount Annubar 485. Measured values from probes are compared.
Gas flow measurement
Kozák, Matěj ; Uher, Miroslav (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problem of designing vortex flow meter for a nominal range of 40 l.min-1. It describes the problems of vortex bodies and choice of methods for detection of vortices. The thesis includes solution of various problems in the design, which were published in scientific articles or patents. The following describes the design solution vortex flow meter for the specified range, which uses ultrasonic sensors to vortices detection. The proposed flow meter is calibrated with reference flow meter and compared with commercially produced vortex flow by the TST electronics and Burkert companies, which are designed for the specified ranges.
