The aim of this bachelor thesis was to conduct literary research into the quality of sugar beet. Part of it was also an experiment focused on testing of the off-root impact on the quality of production. Root growths including the changes of its technological quality were observed here as well. Tuber growth during vegetation corresponded well with the current weather conditions. The amount of sugar content in tubers gradually increased up to the average harvest value of 18,1 %. The volume of alfa-aminonitrogen during observation did not significantly change and its value remained between favourable 15 - 20 mg/100g. Low content of harmful potassium during the harvest was pleasing too. The best results were achieved via repeated application of Carbonbor Si fertilizer. This option brought about the highest tuber production, polarized sugar production including the highest raffinade per acre. The highest sugar volume was achieved by repeated application of Carbonbor Zn, Cu, S fertilizer with the combination of Insenol agent. The research showed that off-root nutrition supports tuber yield and has a positive impact on its technological quality.

Data acquisition and process monitoring system in analytical laboratories of sugar factories

This work is devoted to the processes in the sugar industry. Specifically it comes to the processes of purchasing of raw materials and their subsequent processing and analysis at sugar mills. The main objective of this work is a detailed description of the information system, which is now at the development stage, and which will allow its user to control these processes, have on hand the important information in the online mode and also schedule resources, basing on calculations which this information system will provide. To design this system, I was using my own knowledge in the field of process analysis and designing of information systems, as well as help of my colleagues from the company OOO "NPF" Labimpex Plus " who are directly involved in the development of this system. All information relating to processes on sugar mill, as well as other information related to the sugar industry I got through communication with employees of sugar factory OAO "Gorodejsky Sacharnyj Kombinat", which will be also as an example, on its base will be compiled and described all these processes. making a complete description of the mentioned information system, including its functions and clearly defined benefits, and also give a reason why sugar should sugar factories implement this system. That description and justification can then be used during the presentation of the system to the customer. Vliv zemědělství a navazujících odvětví na rozvoj obce - případová studie

The topic of my bachelor thesis is "The impact of agriculture and related industries in the development of the community - the case study." The issue was to work out the strategic plan for the municipality Prostějov and to evaluate the impact of selected agricultural sector at the village in the past and anticipated impact in the future. The theoretical part describes the position of the agricultural sector in the Czech Republic, the production of sugar and the sugar industry in Moravia. In the practical part there is performed an analysis of the municipality Prostějov and assessment of the impact of sugar rafinery Vrbátky a.s. on a given municipality. In the concluding part there is an evaluation of the results achieved, the impact of business on sugar rafinery and proposed recommendation for improving the situation.

This work is focused on modern self-propelled sugar beet harvesters. In the introductory section describes the meaning of sugar beet, its history and present of the Czech and foreign agriculture. Further disclosed are methods of harvesting, their advantages and disadvantages. The work is then engaged exclusively self-propelled harvesters, their current design solution, attractions and economic evaluation. The last part deals with harvest losses and described the results of field measurements and evaluation.

The cultivation of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris var. Altissima) and its use

This bachelor thesis is focused on growing of sugar beet and also on its use in food and other industry. The first part, general one, describes the origin of the sugar beet, botany, agro technology, fertilization, creating of the growth, regulation of diseases and pests, regulation of weed infestation, gathering of a crop and its storage. This part also includes information about chemical technological composition of the plant tuber, and there is also considered its sale in the market and its use in the food or other industry. The final section of the paper summarizes basic data about sugar beet.

World Sugar Market and the role of the Czech Republic

In my diploma thesis I am analysing world sugar market and the role of the Czech Republic on this market. In the first chapter I am describing sugar as a general commodity, its usage, consumption and production, also the production in important areas. In the second part of the thesis I am writing about the restrictions of the sugar market from European Union, I am describing all reforms and quotas and its influence on all countries. In the third part, the most important one, I am writing about sugar trade on Exchange which instruments are mainly being used, news forms of trading such as Fair Trade. I am also describing factors that influence development of prices. In the last part, also very important one, I am writing about the role of the Czech Republic on the world market and its development throughout the years and about attenuation of the sugar production in our country.

The changes in technology of growing sugar beet

The Bachelor's thesis deals with changes in technology of planting sugar beet. In the Czech Republic, sugar beet is the most widely used raw material for sugar production since the mid-19th century. The sugar beet production and production of sugar are one of the most important segments of agro-food complex, but nowadays sugar beet is also strategic crop of which feed and fertilizers are being made. It is also a source of renewable energy in the form of anhydrous ethyl alcohol and stillage to be processed in biogas plants. Sugar produced in the Czech Republic has a similar quality to the best producers in the EU. In the last two years, Czech growers achieved yields of about 80 t.ha-1. The yield is constantly increasing, annually by an average of more than two tons. Ploughing has always been a priority during the processing of sugar beet. In the course of time, is rather recomended on heavy soils to use ploughless technology. Nowadays genetically monogerm seed varieties are being used for sowing. The seeds are sown for finite distances by precision seeders. Harvesting is carried out by self-propelled sugar beet harvesters with high-capacity containers. In the Czech Republic there have been only seven still functioning sugar factories, which belong to five major companies. The strongest market position has the company - Sugar mills and Distilleries TTD a.s.
