The relationship between the state and religious communities in the USA Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the relevant aspects of the relationship between the state and religious communities in the United States of America. The focus of the thesis lies in the introduction of the development of interpretation of both religious clauses of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by the Supreme Court, especially in the 20th century. This thesis aims to show, how both religious clauses, even though they were created to serve the same purpose, are in some cases interpreted in a contradicting way. The thesis also elaborates on religious freedom in the sensitive environment of armed forces, as the soldiers depend totally on services provided to them by the government. In the final part, the thesis introduces certain exceptions from the generally applicable legal provisions for the churches and religious legal entities, as well as recent development from the perspective of admitting religious freedom to business corporations. Development of church land ownership in the Czech republic and in the world

This thesis aims to acquaint the reader with the way in which the property originated and also with the subsequent development of this property in a historical context. The text is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter we can find a list of ways how was the church property originated. Next chapter deals with the development of church property on the territory of our country. The third chapter devotes the development of church property in Europe. The last chapter deals with the settlement of property of chosen countries with churches and religious societies.

Cult of St. John of Nepomuk and selected monuments in South Bohemia

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is the cult of patron saint and martyr St. John of Nepomuk. First I focus on his life and tragic death and then I continue with description of a development of the cult. This part I extend with chapters dealing with Nepomuck's festivities homiletics and songs. Next I examine iconography of St. John of Nepomuk and present examples of portrayal of the saint in solitary scenes and narratives cycles. The following part of the thesis contains comprehensive summary of extensive use of St. John's monuments and it contains presentation of particular churches in Prague and regions of Bohemia. In the last chapter I deal with chronological description of individual St. John of Nepomuk's churches located in South Bohemian Region.

Religious structure of the population of the South-West Bohemia

This bachelor thesis deals with the religious structure of population of the South-West Bohemia in the years 1991, 2001 and 2011. It is based on results of censuses. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the spatial differentiation of the population at regional levels (regions, districts, little districts, i.e. administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers) and outline the development and the changes in religious structure of the population from 1991 to 2011. A relation between number of inhabitants of given unit and degree of religiosity is a part of the analysis. Based on expertise literature the thesis defines basic terms, describes genesis and fundamentals of the philosophy of the world religions especially christianity and characterizes churches and religious societies registered in Czech Republic.

Public opinion on the role of churches in the society and on the restitution of church property

September's survey of CVVM comprised a question regarding the role of church in the society and a set of questions concerning the topic of church restitution. On the one hand, the presented press release contains information on to what extent citizens are interested in the problem of church restitution and to what extent they agree with the current proposal of property compensations toward churches. On the other hand, it analyses in detail, what is the public opinion on the range of these compensations and it also follows up, what attitudes citizens take toward different key aspects of church restitution, as they unfolded in the existing debate. It turned out that Czechs consider churches to be desirable most importantly for granting of spiritual support to people and for performing of charity. But only about one sixth of the public subscribes to the current proposal of church property compensations.

Citizens' trust to selected public institutions - September 2012

As a part of September CVVM survey there was a question investigating citizens' trust to Courts, Police, Army, Media, Labour Unions, Churches, Banks and NGOs. The press information covers also a longterm development of trust to these public institutions. The main change seems to be a decrease of trust to Churches since the last survey in march 2012 from 29 % to 20 %.

THE RELATIONSHIPS OF THE STATE AND THE CHURCH IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

The bachelor work is named THE RELATIONSHIPS OF THE STATE AND THE CHURCH IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC. Its goal is to evaluate the attitude of the Czech society to religion on the basis of individual social-demographic aspects. The bachelor work analyses the question of the traditional religion, but also the question of the alternative attitude towards religion, which we can find in the Czech Republic. Further, the bachelor work deals with evaluation of the legislature related to churches and religious societies, and also with evaluation of ways of solution of the property settlement between the state and churches. The bachelor work deals with different models of financing of churches both in the Czech Republic and in other selected coutries. In the work I work out a very important period when the communist regime took control, which meant both a decline and a limitation of activities for churches.

The system of the financial support of the churches and relgious communities in the Slovak Republic and the citizens opinion about it

The work has dealt with the ways of the churches and religion communities financial support (hereinafter CaNS) in Slovakia. The main aim of the work is to find out the population satisfaction with present model of the CaNS financial support in the Slovak Republic and to find out the opinion on the "ideal" model of the financial support for CaNS in Slovak republic. The first chapter has dealt with the basic models of the financial support of the CaNS all over the world. The second chapter has dealt with the model of the financial support of the CaNS in the Slovak Republic from its establishing till present times. The third chapter has dealt with opinion of the population on the financial support of the CaNS in the Slovak republic.
