Nonequilibrium Thermodynamics of Small Systems
Holubec, Viktor ; Chvosta, Petr (advisor) ; Slanina, František (referee)
Title: Nonequilibrium Thermodynamics of Small Systems Author: Viktor Holubec Department: Institute of Theoretical Physics Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Petr Chvosta, CSc., Department of Macromolecular Physics Abstract: We investigate a microscopic engine based on an externally controlled two-level system. One cycle of the engine operation consists of two strokes. Within each stroke, the two energy levels are driven with a time-independent rate. The occupation probabilities of the two levels are controlled by the underlying Pauli rate equation and they represent the (delayed) system response in respect to the external driving. We give the exact solution of the dynamical equation and discuss its thermodynamical consequences. In between, we investigate the engine's efficiency, the power output, and the performance dependence on the control parameters. Secondly, we introduce an augmented stochastic process which reflects, at a given time, both the occupation probabilities for the two levels and the work done on the system during the previous evolution. Our exact calculation of the evolution operator for the augmented process allows for a detailed discussion of the probability density for the work done during the cycle of the engine operation. In the strongly irreversible regime, the density exhibits important...

Violence to nursing staff
Všetečková, Renata ; Šamánková, Marie (advisor) ; Zika, Jiří (referee)
My presentation is an attempt to probe current social view and reception of patients violence against medical professionals. The problem has a growing tendency and there is no wonder that JCN / lntemational Council of Nurses / dec\ared patient violence relative topics in 2001 as a worlwide current theme. I work at Emergency Department of big teaching hospital and I con, ider this place as one of those that are exposed to conflicts and patient violency often. The questioning was perforrned via nameless answer sheets. These were given mainly to staff from Emergency Departments, Ambulance Servises, Psychiatrie Departments and different sorts of admiting rooms. Two hundred answer sheets were given, about 84% were aswered and sent back. Major group of respondents / 41 % / were well experienced, more than 15 years working staff. Their opinion was valuable as they could compare the problem trend. The major part of them consider patient relative violency as a growing problem and attack severity too. Moreover the most ofthe respondents had the feeling that the level of medical professionals protection is poor and nothing had been done for years in this field. Jn the end of my presentation I offer some measures that sould be called into action in our hospital after the discussion with the management. Powered by TCPDF...

Selected Theoretical and Practical Aspects of the Quality of Nursing Care
Kazatelová, Petra ; Holmerová, Iva (advisor) ; Gürlich, Robert (referee)
The subject of this diploma paper is the quality of The Health Sevice. This is a major issue of interest, not only to medical experts, but patiens and the general public. Due to increasing competititon within The Nursery Health Service, hospitals must now, monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care and instigate changes as necessary . A glossary of words used within this paper, relating to quality in The Helath Service, is found in the Introduction. Systems of quality assurance, accreditation and resource issues are also introduced. The research focuses on patient satisfaction with the nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit within the surgery department of IKEM. The answers are categorised and either presented graphically or compared statistically. The conclusion contains recommmendations for changes that would improve the quality of nursing care.

Nursing Problems of Patients with Impaired Vision
VOJTÍŠKOVÁ, Aneta
The thesis on Caregivers problems of patients with eye-sight disorders is focused on discovering of specifications in the field of treatment of blind or sand-blind patients. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on anatomy, physiology, screening methods, range of eye-sight disorder and last but not least treatment. In this particular part we take a closer look at communication, orientation in space, eating, distribution of medicaments, correct procedures, hygiene, printed documents and screening of patients with eye-sight disorders. The practical part of this thesis is devoted to discovering of specifics of the treatment care for the eye-sight disordered patients. This is done using qualitative research constructed as semi-structured interview with nurses from ordinary departments as well as with randomly selected patients. These interviews were processed into case interpretations and category charts. One of the main result of our thesis is that the nurse plays major role in medical treatment of eyesight disordered patient. The important part of treatment is communication - treatment of eye-sight disordered patients is no exception from this rule. Nurse is not only caretaker, but also communicator and educator. The thesis includes the correct procedures of different operations undergone by eye-sight disorder patients. Sufficient knowledge of those can prevent unpleasant situations or even injuries of the medical staff or the patient.

Comparison of Selected Physiotherapeutic Terms
Šlaisová, Markéta ; Palaščáková Špringrová, Ingrid (advisor) ; Hadraba, Ivan (referee)
Title of dissertation Comparison of selected physiotherapeutic terms Objectives of the dissertation The objective of this dissertation is to emphasize the disunity of terminology in the field of physiotherapy used in clinic practice. This has been done by comparing the already known definitions of selected terms by different authors. The questionnaire method is used in order to show the absence of a monolingual physiotherapeutic dictionary as well as other possible issues conceming terminology in this field. Methods ln order to deal with the issues associated with physiotherapeutic terminology I have used information found in professional literature, observations of authors and my own, which has led to a synthesized comparative study of different terms. Moreover, questionnaires (see appendix) have been distributed to different specialised departments in the Czech Republic. Questionnaires have been given to both physiotherapists as well as to first year students of physiotherapy in order to be able to compare opinions regarding this issue. Evaluation of the questionnaires has been performed by means ofa graphic method and a written commentary. Results The obtained information and observations of authors have mostly been processed by means of comparison of given terms. Questionnaires conceming...

UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FARMACEUTICKÁ FAKULTA V HRADCI KRÁLOVÉ KATEDRA SOCIÁLNÍ A KLINICKÉ FARMACIE Abstract of diploma thesis Lukáš Dobrovolný 2008 The analysis of exposition of antibacterial drugs in patiens after stem cell transplantation The thesis focused on gaining the resistence level data connected with six most common microbial organisms isolated in Czech republic even through whole Europe. The uniqueness of the study flows from the characterisitics of analysed patients'group with sorted serious blood malignities requiring bone marrow transplantation. Moreover the thesis' aim is to judge, whether the correctness, accuracy, frequency of the administration and the sufficiency of the used daily dosages of the antimicrobial drugs in the cliníc was in order. The script also addresses to the field of combined antimicrobial treatment. It also scans, which drugs are administered in the hospitál department and under what circumstances and those empirical data compares with the guidelines. This diploma work observes as well the popularity of administered medicaments and examines their usage during two investigated years. The present day state referring to multi or poly rezistent germs including the mechanisms of the selection of these perilous clones is analysed in the theoretical part. That thesis...

Differences between entrepreneurial and nonentrepreneurial students of VŠE
Havlát, Aleš ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor) ; Jarošová, Eva (referee)
Main goal of this bachelor's thesis is mapping of main differences between entrepreneurial and nonentrepreneurial students of VŠE, describing their specifics and analyzing their attitudes to entrepreneurship. Also specifics of entrepreneurship of students are taken into consideration throughout this thesis. In the theoretic part are described factors which influence entrepreneurship, specifics of entrepreneurship of students and summary of research from the year 2011 with focus on entrepreneurship of alumni of VŠE. In the practical part of this thesis is done a research. The research was conducted using the questionnaire. Results of this research show that factors like a entrepreneurship of parents, perception of opportunities or character really influence entrepreneurship of students and entrepreneurial and nonentrepreneurial students are really different in these factors.
