Problem of painful shoulder in hemiparetics patients
Daumann, Pavla ; Muchová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Konvalinková, Romana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on a painful hemiparetic shoulder as a frequently observed complication in patients suffering from stroke. Basic information about stroke, anatomy and kinematics of shoulder joint is included in a theoretical part of the thesis. The largest portion describes a pathogenesis of painful hemiparetic shoulder, its prevention and commonly used physiotherapeutic approaches. The practical part of the thesis consists of two case reports of patients with stroke suffering from painful hemiparetic shoulder. In both cases, a combination of physiotherapeutic approaches applied in ten cycles over a period of 4 to 6 weeks was used. To prove an effectiveness of the therapy, I used kinesiological assessment as well as a faces pain scale for an evaluation of shoulder pain. To assess a mobility of the shoulder, I used a goniometry and functional tests for upper limb. Results of the therapy are described in a discussion part of the thesis and indicate that the combination of physiotherapeutic approaches may decrease pain as well as improve the mobility of affected shoulder. These results should be confirmed in a larger patient population. Key words: stroke, hemiparesis, shoulder, pain, physiotherapy
Effect of kinesiotaping on shoulder girdle muscle activity
Dvořáková, Petra ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Bitnar, Petr (referee)
Kinesiotaping is a new method used for an extremely wide range of clinical conditions. Kinesiotaping is established in sport for treatment and prevention of injury and offers therapists a new treatment possibility of muskuloskeletal injuries and disorders. There are used elastic permeable and water-resistant adhesive tapes of different colours. Elasticity of the tape maintains the patient's full mobility. This is the decisive advantage compared with the previous treatment taping methods. The mechanism of kinesiotaping is based on two main effects. The kinesiotape stimulate the skin receptors and increase interstitial space between the skin and the underlying connective tissues. Therefore it improves the circulation of both venous and lymphatic fluid and decrease pressure on mechanical nociceptors. It is surprising that even though the kinesiotaping is being very often used, there is lack of evidence demonstrating its effectiveness. The aim of the thesis is therefore to summarize all general information about the kinesiotaping and compare them with published results. The special chapter is devoted to the kinesiotaping of the shoulder girdle, which is supplemented by a practical section about the muscle activity effect of the kinesiotaping of the shoulder girdle measured by surface electromyography.

Physiotherapy in posttraumatic adhesive capsulitis
HOMER, Jakub
The topic of the thesis is the syndrome of the frozen shoulder which is characteristic for it´s clinical features and typical process. The clients are disabled mostly by the cruel pain and rather limited motion. The disease has a strong influence to mentality of the client because of it´s long process and unpredictable results of the therapy. There is no return of the same range of motion guarantied which were there before the disease started. The thesis is divided into four main chapters. The first is theoretic and it deals with anatomy, biomechanics and kineziology of the shoulder joint. The second chapter explains adhesive capsulis, history of the disease, it´s origin, diagnostic and possibilities of the therapy. The conclusion of the first part brings the chapter on kinds of clinical check up of upper limb. While the second part of the thesis gives the aim, the third part brings the list of methods included in the research which ran in the Aurora spa in the town of Trebon. There were two clients present in the qualitative research. The lists of the used literature, key words and abbreviations are a necessary part of the thesis. There are of course attached pictures included. It is possible to use the thesis as a study and education literature as well as a compare material in the clinical praxis. It should not be used as a template to the praxis of therapy in any way.
Usage of special physiotherapeutic methodics in frozen shoulder syndrom
KUBALÁKOVÁ, Tereza
A topic of the bachelor thesis is the frozen shoulder syndrome. It is a common disability of the shoulder joint, but it belongs to one of the least explained illnesses of the shoulder. It has quite a typical course and objective findings, characteristic is particularly a limitation of an active and passive movement. This syndrome is a very painful, long-lasting condition. Patients usually recover, but they may never regain their full motility. A goal of the first part of the thesis was to work up theoretical supporting documents on this issue. A goal of the research part was a choice of clients with the frozen shoulder syndrome and a practical verification of various examination and therapeutic methods. I used a method of a qualitative research for the practical part of the bachelor thesis, a case study. The bachelor thesis can be used in a clinical practice of physiotherapists.
