Title: A case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with total endoprothesis of the knee joint Objectives: The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to process a case study of a patient with total endoprothesis of his left knee joint. The case study is based on the theroretical information described in the first part of this thesis. Methods: The case study of particular pacient consists of complex kinesiologic examination at the begining and in the end as well, furthermore, it consists of short-term and long-term physiotherapeutical plan and eight therapeutic units. Finally there is an evaluation of the effects of the therapy. The case study itself was made during practise in the Military Hospital in Prague from 21st January 2020 to 30th January 2020. Results: Patient's range of motion (knee flexion) improved. Muscle strength of hip flexors and knee extensors improved as well. Overall, muscle balance surrounding the knee got better after completing all eight therapies. Keywords: knee joint, total endoprothesis, gonarthrosis, physiotherapy, case study, alloplasty

Nursing specifics in the care of clients after high correction osteotomy of high proximal tibia over time.
BAČOVÁ, Emilie
Osteotomy means cutting a bone using a saw most often. It is used to adjust axial deviation, prolongation, or shortening of the bones. Over time, when there were changes in the development of the surgical technique of corrective osteotomy, changes in nursing care also occurred. This breakthrough concerns not only nursing staff, but also clients in particular. Because of the development of the surgical technique, the hospitalization time shortens and if the client does not perform a physically demanding job, where is a heavy load on the operated lower limb, the treatment time is reduced. This leads to a faster return of clients to normal life and employment. Nursing care becomes less demanding for staff than the older surgical method. The bachelor thesis is a theoretical work, which deals in the introductory part with knee joint anatomy, knee joint examination methods, explanation of the concept of gonarthrosis and the way of treating this disease. This part is followed by history of osteotomy and an explanation of the surgical method. An important part of the thesis is the description of nursing care of clients with high correction osteotomy as time goes by, which includes preoperative preparation, postoperative care and, last but not least, rehabilitation. The aim of the work is to describe, how the nursing procedures changed with the older surgical method. The second objective is to map out nursing procedures using a modern surgical method. There are the opinions of doctors and nurses of various medical disciplines, who have experienced nursing care of clients with high corrective osteotomy, mentioned. Gained knowledge could serve as a guide to nursing care of clients after high corrective osteotomy of the proximal tibia.
Economic evaluation of surgery compared with pharmacological treatment for patients diagnosed with gonarthrosis
Hájková, Kateřina ; Lešetický, Ondřej (advisor)
The main purpose of my diploma thesis is the application of economic evaluation principles; costs quantification and the consequences quantification of two different approaches in the gonarthrosis therapy from the perspective of Health Insurance Company and from the perspective of the patient; furthermore the evaluation of the effectiveness and utility ratio and the final determination for more convenient option. Considered alternatives are the hyaluronic acid injection and the total knee arthroplasty realization. Effects for the expenditures at cost-effectiveness analysis are measured by WOMAC Index. Effects for the expenditures at cost-utility analysis are measured by HUI2 score system. The research includes two sections: (1) the case study of two patients and (2) the clinical trials and nationwide Health Insurance Company´s data analysis. Particularly because of the brief observation time period, the pharmacotherapy is quantified as a more convenient alternative.
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis Bilateral Gonarthrosis with Varus Deformity of the Right Knee
Tzioni, Sophia ; Satrapová, Lenka (advisor) ; Samková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with diagnosis of bilateral gonarthrosis - grade 3, with varus deformity of the right knee Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to initially review the anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics underlying the patient's condition demonstrate and then analyze and evaluate the therapeutic units that were provided. Clinical findings: This study was evaluating the state of a 72-year-old patient with the main diagnosis of bilateral gonarthrosis and additional conditions as shoulder pain and ankles stiffness. The assessment showed reduced mobility and joint play with differentiation in the condition of the muscles as well as misalignment of the knee joint. There was deformity of the right ankle joint and bilateral stiffness. The shoulder joint has been painful with decreased mobility and muscle impairments. Methods: All the used procedures were based on the literature given thought by the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: Following 14 therapeutic sessions for all three problematic areas, the patient underwent great progress in terms of pain, range of motion and muscle imbalance in the shoulder and knee joints, and moderate progress in the ankle joints. Conclusion: The therapies that were performed were...
