Variability of Ephemeroptera of family Baetidae (Insecta, Ephemeroptera, Baetidae)
KOLLROSS, Jan
This thesis deals with a variability of the Baetis fuscatus species-group (Ephemeroptera: Baetidae). This study contains three main topics: The first one is distinguishing between two highly similar species, Baetis scambus and Baetis fuscatus based on morfological structures, specifically their mouthparts - labial palps. To analyze the shape of the labial palps, I applied a computerized outline analysis. Second topic is focused on the validity of Baetis beskidensis as a distinct species based on the morphology and DNA sequences (obtained for the topotypical material for the first time). And finally, I also investigated some samples from Corsica in attempt to discover new species of the Baetis fuscatus species-group. I found that most probably it is not possible to distinguish between Baetis scambus and Baetis fuscatus based on the shape of their labial palps. Baetis beskidensis is morfologically different, but genetically not distinctly separated from other representatives of the Baetis fuscatus species-group. I didn´t discover any distinct morphological differences in specimens from Corsica, pointing to the possible existence of new species.

Restoration of plant communities after eradication of invasive Reynoutria species
Mártonová, Marie ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Berchová, Kateřina (referee)
Reynoutria spp. rank among highly invasive taxa in the Czech Republic. Therefore, a considerable effort is focused on its eradication. This is usually done by application of non- selective herbicide based on glyphosate. However, only little is known about the spontaneous recovery of the native vegetation after the eradication, as well as whether the restoration can be facilitated by additional management. In my master thesis I (i) describe the process of restoration after Reynoutria spp. eradication, (ii) evaluate the influence of factors which could potentially inhibit the succession (such as glyphosate, allelopathy, changes in soil conditions due to Reynoutria spp. invasion), and (iii) evaluate the influence of native-species seed addition on establishment of target plant communities. The process of vegetation recovery was followed on 17 sites in a forest and in ruderal forest-free area from 2007 to 2010. Over the three years of the study, the sites in the forest- free area were covered by diverse vegetation, secondary succession on sites in a forest progressed more slowly. Any soil changes were detected. The process of succession was limited probably because a dead biomass was left on the sites after the eradication. The seed addition was also not crucial for the restoration of plant communitites.

Social behaviour of Chapman´s zebra ( Equus quagga chapmani )
TULACHOVÁ, Marie
Abstract Chapman{\crq}s zebra (Equus quagga chapmani) is a subspecies of Plains Zebra. It can be distinguished from other groups by the ochre or off-white base colour, distinct shadow stripes and legs that are striped almost down to the hooves. Its populations may be found throughout the southern Africa in almost all biotopes. This subspecies of zebra usually forms small family groups {--} harems, consisting of a single stallion, from one up to six mares, and their recent offspring. This family group is accompanied by bachelor groups formed by bachelor males and older offspring. Harems are highly stable; changes in their composition are rather rare. Zebras were monitored for two days using the method of interval recording, once in a period of time from a week to a month. The monitoring took place in ZOO Liberec. From the observation is evident that most of the time is spent on food intake. The evaluation of contact counts (minus contacts identified as aggression) implied the existence of individual preference. Taking into account some factors such as the mares` age, consanguinity, oestrus and the weather we demonstrate that neither of these factors has influence on the preference of individual mares by the stallion. This question should be addressed further by monitoring other groups of Plains Zebra, either wild animals or animals in human care. It might be useful to consider other factors possibly having influence on the individual preference of the stallion.

The origin and forms of titanium in historical and modern paintings
Hradilová, J. ; Hradil, David ; Grygar, Tomáš ; Šímová, Veronika
Baseline identification of pigments is not sufficient for the description of technical style of painting and its authentication. Qualified interpretation of the stratigraphy of colour layers accompanied by the description of their microstructure is only able to help with the evaluation of origin and authenticity of the painting. Wide comparative database and close cooperation of scientists, restorers and art historians is always necessary. Diversity of forms, in which titanium occurs in nature, could be given as an example documenting the necessity of highly professional and sensitive approach to data within this research area.

Diverzita vybraných skupin obratlovců (Vertebrata) v Národním parku Podyjí
Bohuslavová, Markéta
Main goal of this thesis, named "Diversity of selected groups of vertebrates (Vertebrata) in the National Park Podyjí" was to detect and research the existence of animal species in the area of individual biotope. There are 8 groups of biotopes in this area. The goal was to focus on the species that ranked amongst the endangered, highly endangered or critically endangered, according to the Ministry of Environment. There are also many plant communities besides the animal species, which are also part of the reason for its protection. This thesis is concentrating only on the vertebrates groups, which are not as profusely present as the invertebrates groups, but were a lot more thoroughly researched. The thesis is also focusing on anthropogenic activities, that are affecting individual biotopes.

The swimming pool as an architectural task. Open-air swimming pools in Czech architecture of the 1920s-1940s
Turjanicová, Andrea ; Švácha, Rostislav (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor)
If the Low exists in the architecture then buildings for water sports seem to stand for a category frankly Deep. Neither for the main stream, nor perhaps for the industrial architecture which occupies considerable interest in recent years. At the same time, open-air swimming pools from the twenties and thirties worth the attention, either in light of the architecture or considering circumstances far more general. Distinctly it is reflected by the district of Prague 's Barrandov. Modern architecture, film, culture of coffee lounges and sport that helped to create an atmosphere of the interwar era were present in the new garden-city. In altered, diversely misshapen form these phenomena kept the importance also in following years of the occupation and the war. It concerns the architecture of old swimming pools, thus the buildings planned to be operated three of four months in a year, mostly low and wooden. This architecture, slightly ephemeral, did not receive even the right name. It could be complemented with a diving tower, a slipway or perhaps a pavilion across. And certainly it was belonged with the water. Good swimming pools were projected almost as a landscape garden and their architectonic solutions were close to the landscape design. Also for this, the attention is focused to opein-air swimming pools...

Semantic analysis of selected Czech verbal prefixes
Lehoučková, Zuzana ; Vaňková, Irena (advisor) ; Lehečková, Eva (referee)
Cognitive linguistics differs from other linguistic approaches in its assumption that linguistic relations and processes reflect conceptual relations and proceses. Cognitive linguists are interested especially in the conceptual background of language structure. This paper is an attempt to describe and explain semantic characteristics of Czech verbal prefixes (of prefix vy- in particular) taking cognitive principles into account, such as categorization, prototype, profiling, embodiment, construal, conceptual integration, metaphor. This approach should be able to identify previously unnoticed semantic relations and show diverse realizations of the prefix as extensions from a single core meaning. Langacker's cognitive grammar is used as the most importatnt theoretical basis.

Vliv POS na prodeje: LEGO Nexo Knights kampaň 2016 v hračkářstvích
Kinštová, Veronika ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Karlíček, Miroslav (referee)
In today's highly competitive and cluttered marketing environment it becomes increasingly harder for brands to differentiate themselves form others. This is especially pronounced in the retail space. Shopper marketing is a discipline that focuses on shoppers and their needs to create a unique shopping experience and thereby increase in-store communication effectiveness. Keeping in mind the challenges of marketing to children, LEGO aims to communicate to its shoppers as well as consumers through the platform of in-store its core values of creative play, fun and learning. The thesis discusses the effectiveness of LEGO shopper marketing, specifically the engagement elements it uses in various channels. The aim is to test and evaluate the impact of these materials on the target audience and sales as well as define the hierarchy of LEGO in-store communication materials. In the theoretical part shopper marketing concepts, shopper beaviour and marketing in the toy industry are discussed.

Small mammals in diet of barn owl in the Eastern Meditarranean
Šindelář, Jiří ; Horáček, Ivan (advisor) ; Anděra, Miloš (referee)
The extensive material of skeletal remains of mammals from a diet of barn owl in the eastern Mediterranean has been processed and evaluated with different techniques of chorological and morphometric analysis. At least 8400 individuals of 45 species of insectivores, rodents and bats were found in our total collection of samples, which represents a significant portion of fauna of the region. We have evaluated a chorological composition of the taphocoenoses and the interregional differences, manifested primarily by differences in the representation of satellite and accessory elements. We found a highly significant impoverishment of the isolated island taphocenoses (Cyprus, Karpathos, partly on Crete), where Cricetidae, Arvicolidae, C. leucodon etc. are missing. On the other hand the essential part of the dominance structure takes up the Rattus rattus, which acts here as an invasive species, significantly more successful than in the ragged continental contexts. The species diversity of the examined samples is positively correlated with the geographic latitude (taphocenoses of the northern regions are significantly richer) and negatively with the island effect and the degree of aridization. The morphometric analysis of the three most abundant species of Soricidae within the studied region showed...

Production and fertility of dams for multiple milking
TRCH, Jan
The aim of this thesis was to evaluated fertility and milk performance due to multiple milking technology which was used. The monitoring was carried in 2011 in farms Agrospol, Malý Bor a.s. and the farm Dub. System evaluation of fertility and milk performance of dairy cows at multiple milking were evaluated in 186 lactations of Czech pied cattle breeding. The average number of milking in the parlour was 2.96x/day and robot 2.36x/day. 107 lactations were obtained during milking in the milking parlour and 79 of lactation during milking by robots. In this thesis were measured indicators of fertility (insemination interval, service period, the mean time and age at first calving) and indicators of milk production (lactation length, the amount of milk fat, protein and lactose content). In the reproductive indicators were taken statistically highly difference in age at first calving, where the average difference was 195 days. For other indicators of fertility were all statistically significant results in favor of milking in the milking parlour (2.96x/day). Czech pied cattle milked in the milking parlour per normative lactation average amount of milk produced 8 599.8 kg, cows milked by robot 7 272.5 kg. Among these values was statistically highly significant difference. The best results in the production of milk per normative lactation were gained by milked cows in the milking parlour (9 284.4 kg) and the second lactation cows milked in the milking parlour (9 033.0 kg) on the third and more lactation. The lowest milk production in normative lactation gained dairy cows milked by robot at first lactation (6 874.7 kg). The higher average fat content had dairy cows milked in the milking parlour with a value of 4.47 %, dairy cows milked by robot had fat content of 4.15 %. Between these values was statically highly significant difference. In the average protein content in dairy cows has been demonstrated statistically significant difference. Dairy cows milked in the milking parlour reached the value 3.41 % compared to cows milked by a robot, where the average value of protein was 3.47 %. The difference in lactose content between groups was not statistically significant.
