Požárová, Miroslava ; Dráb, Aleš (referee) ; Žoužela, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the system of large-volume flood bags Protex - K manufactured by the company KOEXPRO OSTRAVA, joint stock company. The bags consist of polyethylene fabric filled with cement and fly ash mixture. The system enables creation of many shape modifications. One of them is the so-called triplet formed from three hose bags with the nominal diameter of 300 mm. The goal of the work was to verify functionality of this bag in one of the hydraulic troughs in the Laboratory of Water Management Research of Department of Water Structures of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. To assess the functionality, the bag stability was tested with various water levels, and discharge coefficient and specific leakage per one standard meter of the bag was determined. The resulting discharge coefficient was compared with discharge coefficients of similarly shaped constructions. The work includes comparison of the flood bags with commonly used bags. Furthermore, the data obtained by measuring and processed in the tabular and graphical form are presented in the work.

Waiting for Godot with Cat on the Rails (Formal and Thematic Overlaps of the Samuel Beckett's Play in the Play by Josef Topol)
Kykalová, Kateřina ; KYSELOVÁ, Eva (advisor) ; MUSILOVÁ, Martina (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the formal and thematic overlaps of the Samuel Beckett's play Waiting for Godot in the play Cat on the Rails by Josef Topol. Through a comparison of both texts the work finds similarities and differences in their genres, composition, dialogue, language, time and space, layout and characteristics of the characters, theme and individual motives. An initial impetus for its creation was an identification of the same basic situation of waiting in both plays and a theme of rootlessness of human existence, which speaks through the two central couples which always complement each other by their contrasting temperaments. Gradually, however, the work finds also a fundamental difference of the texts, namely the location of dramatic conflict, which divides Évi and Véna in Cat on the Rails while in Waiting for Godot it stands between the two vagrants and a bleak human destiny.

Options of managing the stress situations during mass accidents
ŠEVČÍK, Radek
All of us face stress every day. The manner we are able to handle stress affects our behaviour, health and success in completing the tasks brought to us by our lives. The level of stress is immense in the mass accidents and the demands to handle such stress high. Therefore, it is beneficial to have certain awareness about the impact of stress; to know how stress affects us, what it make provoke in us and to know, as well, how to manage it efficiently. This kind of stress awareness should be very high mainly in the case of people who intervene at the very place of an accident tragedy. My bachelor thesis was prepared in the quantitative manner using questionnaires. The research sample was formed by selected employees of the accident flying squads of Salvage and Rescue Service (``SRS{\crqq}) of the South-Bohemian and South-Moravian regions. The main aim of my thesis was to determine whether there is a targeted preparation of the SRS employees for stress situations. I have set two hypotheses in respect of the research. Hypothesis No. 1, ``Employees of accident flying squads of the SRS practicing for more than 5 years are more informed on the stress issues during mass accidents{\crqq}, was confirmed. Hypothesis No. 2, ``Employees of accident flying squads of the SRS were trained specifically for stress situations during the mass accidents{\crqq}, was not confirmed. In my research, I found that 61.5% of the employees questioned did not pass any specific training for stress resistance. My bachelor thesis should serve as an impulse for the creation of a specific training for the employees of accident flying squads of the SRS and also as a potential ground to enhance the training in the given field within the study program of ``Health Rescuer{\crqq}.
