Filipec, Jan ; Herzan, Radovan (referee) ; Jenčková, Barbora (advisor)
The thesis proposes a modification of an area on the southern edge of a Brno housing estate Lesna, defined by train tracks from the south side, třída Generála Píky-Okružní crossing from the west, Heleny Malířové street from north and Okružní-Merhautova-Seifertova crossroad from the east. A thorough survey of the southern part of the Lesná settlement is carried out in the first part and the most pressing problems of the region are determined. The following part is then an urban planning study, aimed at dealing with discovered problems. The proposed design deals mainly with unification of two halves of the central area to allow for direct access of the train station, enlargement of a main road in the Okružní street to incorporate a new tram line and placement of a new office building for Brno-Sever municipality in the bottom half of the territory to increase its attractiveness.
To Dvur Kralove by train - Transfer Terminal in Dvur Kralove nad Labem
Stibůrková, Nikola ; Svojanovský, Viktor (referee) ; Žalmanová, Petra (advisor)
The project deals with the architectural and urban design of the new transport terminal in Dvůr Králové nad Labem. The terminal has to associate the current bus lines and also the train, which is newly brought to the city by the tracks of the existing siding. The location of the terminal is the prime impetus for the development of the entire adjacent site. The site is influenced by busy transport and the surrounding area, which consists of industrial plants, a supermarket hall and fragments of the original buildings. The proposal works with the current situation and existing barriers but is open to future changes in the territory. The individual buildings are located on the imaginary axis leading from the parcel to the city center and thus direct pedestrian movement in the intended direction. The transport solution follows the current location of the sink leading to the heating plant, to which the bus transport circuit is added. In the circuit´s center, a pleasant space for waiting and safe transfer between lines is created. Trains and buses have a common main building that hides all necessary terminal functions. The terminal is also connected with newly designed public space where the markets and city festivals can be held. This space, amongst other functions of the terminal therefore serves not only passengers but also the inhabitants of the city.
