Men´s and women´s roles

November survey CVVM investigated public opinions about division of men´s and women´s roles in families. As in survey 2006, both partners should share worries about education, budget, hobbies and contacts. Career building is supposed to belong to men´s activities or activities of both partners, but mainly it should belong to a men´s role. On the other hand cooking is considered as women´s domain. Looking after children, shopping and cleaning are activities that should be shared by both partners, which is opinion of about half of respondents. These duties are supposed to be undertaken by both partners, but rather by women, which is opinion of the rest of respondents. According to respondents financial provision for the family is mainly a task for a man.

As a part of November survey there was also a question investigating public opinion on population provisions. At first people expressed their opinion of some provisions and then they said which ones should be a priority of the Government.
The barriers for fatherhood after separation: fathers and the maintenance obligation

The text is dealing with one of the most important dimensions of father role – the dimension of father as the family breadwinner, and more specifically with the changes that the marital separation means for this dimension of fatherhood. Its aim is to bring more understanding into the after-separation situations, and to explain how divorced fathers understand and interpret their behavior in the role of breadwinner for their children after divorce.
