Fiala, Jiří ; Svoboda, Petr (referee) ; Panáček, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the efficiency interventions in traffic accidents of the integrated rescue system. The thesis contains the evaluation if changing the system can improve the effectiveness of operations leading to save lives, health, property and the environment or minimize adverse impacts which are caused by an accident. The evaluation of the capability of recording devices to clarify the causes of traffic accident and their applications in the forensic engineering are also described.

Choutková, Magdaléna ; Buchtel, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vorálek, Rostislav (referee)
1 RESUME The title of the thesis: The possibilities for Volleyball Training of Children aged 6-10 Place: Charles University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Department of Sport Games Author: Magdaléna Choutková Branch of Study: Physical Education and Sports Thesis Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Jaroslav Buchtel, CSc. Year of Thesis Defence: 2012 Abstract: The master's thesis deals with the issue of the preparation of young volleyball players who are not able to master either basic ways of playing or individual game activities in volleyball. The children are between six and ten years old which corresponds with the lower primary education. Volleyball is a kind of sport where the basic individual game activities are considered very difficult. For playing volleyball well, children must firstly reach a certain degree of physical abilities. If we start too early, then we achieve an early specialization, which has mostly a negative impact on young sportsmen. The aim of the thesis is to choose and evaluate some ways of preparation of young volleyball players between six and ten. At the same time I am going to focus on the approaches, which are specific for the real volleyball game. I do not intend to list activities, which only generally help to develop the kinesthetic abilities, but I want to deal with activities,...

Economics of terorrism: Empirical analysis of the behavior of terrorist groups
Chovítek, Šimon ; Komrska, Martin (advisor) ; Pertold, Filip (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to empirically analyze the behavior of terrorist groups. In this work we tested the assumption of the model of rational choice in terms of terrorism. The empirical section combines theoretical predictions with observed facts and shows the terrorists as rational actors acting under uncertainty. The data used in the analysis orginate from databases GTD and RDWTI. Mean-variance analysis of portfolios of real attack of terrorist organizations suggests their ability to effectively optimize their activity and to reduce the risks to which they are exposed. Terrorists thus appears as rational agents able to react quickly to external influences. This largely affects the resulting impact of counter-terrorism measures taken when selectively targeted measures may lead to a mere transfer of terrorist activity to another destination.

Properties and function of middle T antigen of the murine polyomavirus
Fabiánová, Anna ; Forstová, Jitka (advisor) ; Čáp, Michal (referee)
Polyomaviruses are small DNA viruses, which are able to induce a broad variety of tumors. The main oncoprotein of the mouse polyomavirus (MPyV) is middle T antigen (MT antigen) which is able to transform cells. MT antigen has not an enzymatic activity of its own. It is able to activate signal transduction of host cells through its interactions with certain cellular proteins. These proteins include protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), Src kinase, phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K), Shc protein, 14-3-3 protein and phospholipase Cγ1 (PLCγ1). This work is focused on interaction between MT antigen and cellular proteins and on the impact of this interaction on cell transformation. Since MT antigen is a potent oncogene, the work also deals with the character of transformed cells and tumor development in mouse mammary epithelium. Keywords: polyomaviruses, MT antigen, PP2A, PI3K, PLCγ1, Shc protein, 14-3-3 protein

Specificity between partners in arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis
Voříšková, Alena ; Janoušková, Martina (advisor) ; Püschel, David (referee)
Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) is a symbiotic interaction between vascular plants and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi from phylum Glomeromycota. AM symbiosis is considered as a nonspecific interaction, because AM fungi are able to colonize roots of all plant species which are hosts for this type of symbiosis, nevertheless certain specific interactions exist between the partners. The specificity can be evident on the level of the formation of mycorrhiza, which means that different species of plants can vary in the composition of fungal community in their roots or AM fungi can differ in an ability of colonization and sporulation depending on host plant species. The specificity can also manifest as different functionality of the symbiosis in dependence on the particular partners affecting the mycorrhizal response of the host plants. All of these specific interactions can have an impact on the coexistence and diversity of plants in communities.

Vliv délky mezidobí na reprodukční užitkovost prasnic
Rotreklová, Lucie
The target of this thesis was to analyse what has a bearing on the length of farrow-ing interval and its particular phases and therefore the reproductive aptitude of sows. This thesis generally mentions the indicators which impact fertility and milkiness. Fur-thermore it is aimed at description of particular phases of farrowing interval and influ-ences which are caused by various factors. Among effects on length of lactation belongs weaning of piglets. The interval from weaning to service is influenced the most mainly with preceding lactation. The length of gravidity cannot be influenced, but through ar-rangements made by breeders during the gravidity it is possible to reach better results of the reproduction.

The impact of speculators on the commodity markets
El-Moussawi, Chadi ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Derner, Tomáš (referee)
In the recent years, there has been growing talk of investing in commodities in the financial markets. In the past, the commodity markets served for purposes of the producers and the end-users of commodities. With gradual innovation of the financial markets in the 19th and 20th century the modern commodity markets evolved and became more standardized. This process was accompanied by the increasing interest of financial speculators. In contrast with the commercial participants, the goal of these new investors in the commodity markets is not to hedge against adverse changes in commodity prices but to profit on the price movements of commodities. The inflow of this group was intensified by the development of new financial instruments enabling these investors to enter the commodity markets. It is undisputable that speculators have positive effect on the markets, by providing liquidity and lowering transaction costs. What remains to be answered is the real effect which the speculators have on the commodity prices, and if their action does not create distortion in the commodity prices. The price development on the commodity markets during the recent financial crisis gives strong arguments in the hands of those accusing the speculators of the negative impact on the commodity prices, which sometimes lead to creation of price bubbles. The goal of this thesis will be the analysis of the effect of speculators on the commodity markets, and if this prejudice is justified.
