Methods of data analysis in longitudinal research
Urbánek, Tomáš
Longitudinal research designs concetrate on the questions of stability and change of the characteristics under study in time. The paper concerns the issues how these two components of the temporal development are studied by the means of statistical methods. Approaches as regression analysis, growth modeling, ARIMA models analysis and a combination of variable-centered and person-centered approaches.

Application of the chosen methods in the bussiness intelligence
Taimr, Jan ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Maryška, Miloš (referee)
The document addresses research of theoretical aspects of dimensional modeling applied in the environment of business intelligence solution and selected methods, usable in the data analysis, and in the analysis of business data, resp. Conclusions and knowledge gained from the theoretical part of the document are then used in the model example which illustrates their real applicability. The document is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains a basic explanation of business intelligence, examines in detail dimensional modeling and includes a compilation of selected methods, which can be used for data analysis. The practical part of the document contains a description of the example model, which is then subjected to dimensional analysis and its implementation.

The causes of poor learning results in the subject 6MI211 - Data Analysis
Ryšavá, Iveta ; Komárková, Lenka (advisor) ; Voráček, Jan (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to statistically process data related to the failure of full time students in the subject Data Analysis and to appropriately interpret the acquired results. Resources to our work are the academic results based on Data Analysis and Math for economists from the winter semester of the academic year 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 and, in particular, a questionnaire formulated by ourselves. The nature of the data collected leads to the analysis of qualitative variables. First single data are described using a table of relative and absolute frequencies for each variable. In addition, we have worked with selected pairs of variables, namely the two-data which are processed in the form of contingency tables and these tables are then further analyzed. There are, inter alia, used tests of independence and homogeneity. For better understanding we have used the tables and the related tests are completed by graphs. From our bachelor thesis, we expect that we find the views of students on this subject and find out, why this subject causes so many problems for most of them.

Nonparametric tests in SPSS
Kantorová, Petra ; Pecáková, Iva (advisor) ; Blatná, Dagmar (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with description of nonparametric tests, which we can find in so called statistical packet SPSS. The first part of the thesis covers examples of this specific kind of tests (nonparametric tests), selected according to different features, its characteristics and individual steps of testing this kind of hypotheses. In the second part the reader can find me-thods of how we can use this kind of tests in SPSS. The third and last part of the bachelor thesis offers practical application and comparison of outcomes of nonparametric test.
