Public opinion on the role of churches in the society and on the restitution of church property
Ďurďovič, Martin
September's survey of CVVM comprised a question regarding the role of church in the society and a set of questions concerning the topic of church restitution. On the one hand, the presented press release contains information on to what extent citizens are interested in the problem of church restitution and to what extent they agree with the current proposal of property compensations toward churches. On the other hand, it analyses in detail, what is the public opinion on the range of these compensations and it also follows up, what attitudes citizens take toward different key aspects of church restitution, as they unfolded in the existing debate. It turned out that Czechs consider churches to be desirable most importantly for granting of spiritual support to people and for performing of charity. But only about one sixth of the public subscribes to the current proposal of church property compensations.

Invenio within the NRGL: Version 1.0 and More News
Slouková, Jana
Both digital repositories maintained by NTK (NRGL and IDR) are powered by the open source software Invenio. Its great flexibility allows us its continuous development and adaptation to our needs. This year we added several features that make it easier to work with the repositories - for example, we improved the search, presentation of records, and added export to various citation managers. Following the release of new version of Invenio, we also created a new freely available installation script, that facilitates the installation and basic configuration of the system to those interested in creating their own repository.

Revitalisation of the landscape part of Prague 4 along the Brunelova street
Kosinková, Martina ; Vaněk, Jan (advisor) ; Jiří, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with the revitalization of public green spaces in the City of Prague Libuš. The aim was to propose appropriate solutions with regard to the close communications, a private school and a rehabilitation center and create a safe and recreational space that would improve living conditions for the inhabitants of the large housing estate settlement in Libuš. It was necessary to analyze the region in terms of natural conditions, broader relations and infrastructure before the proposal. The analysis of the current state was conducted, including the inventory of the trees and field survey. Furthermore, based on the questionnaire survey conducted, the locals, students and teachers from the private school nearby expressed their views on the given territory. It has been found, thanks to the method Time-Lapse Photography Study, which parts of the territory people frequently move in and that was also reflected in the design of the area. The evaluation of the main tendencies of current and future development of the territory and the mutual comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the area with the potential opportunities and threats are made in the SWOT analysis. A proposal, that would increase the interest of the locals in the area, was created on the basis of the results of analyzes conducted. Since it is a very rundown area, there must be a significant reduction in the number of seeding trees, removing stumps and building rubble. The functionality of insulating greenery and the natural character of the area must be maintained simultaneously. There will be an overall increase in the attractiveness and safety of the territory thanks to the revitalization of greenery, building of road networks, the placement of furniture and other technical elements. The area would not deserve only to shorten the route, but it might be used for short-term recreation by the visitors.

The nursing care based on humanistic-altruistic values by model of Margaret Watson.
SCHOLZ, Pavel
Abstract The theme of this dissertation is the nursing care based on humanistic-altruistic values by model of Margaret Watson. Creating conceptual models and their designation in itself was a very important progress in the field of nursing. Conceptual models of nursing are some connection among philosophy, theory and practice. Conceptual model of M. J. Watson is unique in that it focuses on self-nurses, are also among the humanist conceptual models based on the principles of humanism respecting patient rights. Foreign authors talk about the content of the model as a return to the deep roots of professional nursing and values, such as helping others, empathy, trust, finding and meeting the needs of ill people. For practical application of established M. J. Watson there are 10 factors of humanistic care. In the area of research there was carried out questionnaire survey focused on awareness of selected conceptual models of interest in nursing education courses in the area of conceptual models. In addition the conceptual model was applied by M. J. Watson, in practice, for which interviews were used the original author designed and the nurses diaries. Qualitative results were processed by using a modified approach by Ritchie and Spencer. We set two objectives. To achieve the objective to inform nurses about the conceptual model of M. J. Watson was determined by six hypotheses. Hypothesis 1: Nurses are not informed about the conceptual model of M. J. Watson. This hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 2: Nurses do not use M. J. Watson conceptual model for a care of their clients. This hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 3: Nurses recognize an empathy as an important ability to nurse. This hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 4: The interest of nurses in training courses in the area of conceptual models vary according to the length of experience. This hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 5: The interest of nurses in training courses in the area of conceptual models vary according to their age. This hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis 6: The interest of nurses in training courses in the area of conceptual models varies by their educational attainment. This hypothesis was not confirmed. To consider the surprising result that although the nurses admit a lack of information on conceptual models which prevails at the lack of interest in any course in this area. To gain the objective to find out what causes the changes of nursing care are based on a conceptual model of M. J. Watson for selected nurses and clients, we realized the practical application of the model. During our research we set goals to achieve more research questions which we work. Research question 1: Will nurses in implementing nursing care according to M. J. Watson indicate greater satisfaction with their work than before? Research question 2: Will the nurses recognize the increased benefits in the way of nursing care according to M. J. Watson compared to their normal practice? Research question 3: How does the nursing care according to M. J. Watson influence the clients? Research question 4: How nurses will evaluate the success factors of ten applications of humanistic care by M. J. Watson? Research question 5: What do nurses perceive negatively when applying the model of M. J. Watson in practice? We believe we have done this work to break the barrier of lack of information in the conceptual model of M. J. Watson in the country while we described how to return to the loving care in nursing. This model leads to a nurse wondered at herself, carried out their activities at the client with respect and the build confidence. Through the humanistic factors of ten to reach a tenderness in the nursing care.

Where is the legal protection of animals heading for?
Müllerová, Hana
In the last decades, the society worldwide becomes more sensitive to animal suffering and this new ethical approach has already been deeply reflected by law. In many states, an increasing interest in animal issues mirrors in the civil, constitutional, criminal and administrative law, in order to ensure the animals better living conditions. Now, new voices call for recognizing animal rights as rights similar to basic human rights, to get even stronger position of animals in law. The paper shows that the legal treatment of animals is coming to an intersection, with an open question, to what direction will the future animal protection head for.

The contamintation level of sediments from water reservoir Orlík by organic and inorganic pollutants
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Száková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Vymazal, Jan (referee)
Due to sorption processes, sediments can retain a wide range of toxic substances, which are transported together with the sediment over long distances from the place of their origin. Dam reservoirs are significant sinks of such sediments and they can be indicative of the overall burden level in surface water of the basin. This thesis works with the assumption that sediments of a valley reservoir can help to estimate the sources and extent of water pollution in the area of interest. The aim of this thesis was to assess i) the level of contamination of bottom sediments in the Orlík reservoir with organic and inorganic pollutants, and ii) the potential impact of individual tributaries on the overall level of contamination of the sediments. In the literature review, the current level of knowledge in the topic of the total contents and speciation of toxic elements and specificities of the behavior of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in water, sediments and aquatic organisms was evaluated. The biological activity and eutrophication potential of sediments were discussed, as well. A total of 34 composite samples of bottom sediment collected in different parts of the Orlík reservoir and its major tributaries were evaluated. Bioavailability of major pollutants was also observed in individual tributaries based on their content in the tissues of mollusks. Atomic spectrometry revealed increased concentrations of As, Cd and Zn in sediments of the Orlík reservoir. Arsenic concentration limits were significantly exceeded at the bottom part of the reservoir from the confluence of the Otava and Vltava rivers toward the body of the dam. Higher level of cadmium and zinc were detected in sediments of the Otava River. The analysis of tissues of bivalves in tributary areas confirmed significant bioaccumulation ability of cadmium. Among others, significant dependence of phosphorus level on the total content of iron and aluminum in sediments was detected.
