Thin film systems
Rada, Vojtěch ; Sedlaříková, Marie (referee) ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on the problematics of thin-film technology. In the beginning the work deals with a general theory of this problematics, discusses various methods and ways to lay a thin film, where more emphasis is placed on magnetron sputtering, which is used in the practical part of the work, and describes procedures that are performed before and after the application of the thin film. The magnetron sputtering coating machine NP-12 and its control are described in the practical part of the work. Subsequently the selection and adjustment of suitable substrates is made, the thin-film system is deposited using the magnetron sputtering method and the analysis of the properties of deposited thin-film samples is done.

European Union information policy at the time of the Bangemann's activities in comparison with USA
Mikanová, Helena ; Vlasák, Rudolf (advisor) ; Očko, Petr (referee)
(in English) The thesis "Information Policy of European Union in Bangemann's activities period in comparison with USA" is devoted to the Information policy issue applied by the European Union and the United States of America. The thesis structure is defined at the earliest; afterwards the basic terms are followed. The thesis describes the European Union history, which provides context needed to be able to understand the European Union Information policy. The description and evaluation of the European Information policy in Bangemann's activities period in comparison with USA in the same time period and the possibility of mutual utilization of pros of the Information policy of both countries is the aim of this thesis. The following part is occupied with the comparison of EU and USA Information policy at the beginning of 21st century.
Effect of physical load on handgun shooting accuracy
Vokoun, Jaroslav ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Hermel, Ivan (referee)
Title: Effect of physical load on handgun shooting accuracy. Objective: The aim of this work is to detect and compare the effects of physical activity (in the form of a shuttle run at the limit of 85% SF max.) on the shooting accuracy from a short firearm. Methods: This was an experimental study with an intra-subject design. Thirty randomly assigned police officers at age 35.9 years (SD = 4.5) made 5 shots from a Glock 17 pistol (gen. 3) within 5 seconds in a stable position without support before and after physical activity (shuttle run on length10 m in time until the completion of 85% SF max.) to a fixed target at a distance of 8 meters. Comparison of shooting accuracy from the middle point of impact between interventions (shooting before and after physical activity) was performed by using a paired T-test. The level of statistical significance was set at p ≥ 0.05. Cohen's d was used to determine the magnitude of the strength of the effects. Results: Based on the paired T-test, a statistically significant difference was found in the accuracy of shooting from the middle point of impact without and after physical activity (p = 0.007, d = 0.498). We also consider the deterioration of shooting accuracy after physical exertion by 9 mm from the middle point of impact, which is 21.78%, to be factually...
The Effects of US Sanctions in Venezuela
Brown, Carter Sumner Thompson ; Krausz Hladká, Malvína (advisor) ; Riegl, Martin (referee)
Since 2014, the United States has been imposing sanctions on the Venezuelan government in an attempt to accomplish foreign policy goals that would be beneficial to its geopolitical interests in the region and help the Venezuelan people in the process. This research offers a comprehensive empirical analysis of these sanctions. It aims to identify the effects of US sanctions in Venezuela, as intended by the foreign policy goals of the United States, and to measure the effectiveness of sanctions in accomplishing these goals. Additionally, this research seeks to explain the geopolitical strategy of US sanctions as seen through the lens of geoeconomic theory. It will detail the US intensions of generating regime change, restoring democracy, and improving human rights in Venezuela. More specifically, it will reveal the role of sanctions in acting as a geopolitical tool to fulfill these intentions. Ultimately, the research will show how sanctions and companion policies are intended to improve the US-Venezuela relationship that has declined since the time of Hugo Chavez.
Fusion systems and their shielding
Roubal, Michal ; Katovský, Karel (referee) ; Král, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with nuclear fusion and its use as a source of energy for humanity. In the first part of my thesis, I will briefly explore the research history of nuclear fusion. Next, I will investigate the various possible issues connected with achieving and sustaining nuclear fusion. I will briefly discuss the importance of mastering it. I will talk about existing and anticipated risks of radiation damage which can occur during nuclear fusion. Lastly, i will discuss the principles of tritium breeding.
Neutron spectra optimisation of subcritical nuclear reactor with spallation neutron source
Filová, Vendula ; Mičian, Peter (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with accelerator-driven systems and principles of their functioning. The theoretical part indcludes a description of system components and it also introduces projects related to ADS research. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to neutron spectra optimization for BURAN assembly by change of material of the spallation target in MCNP.
The influence of optoeletronic gunsight on shooting accuracy and precision
Bílek, Zdeněk ; Fiala, Miloš (advisor) ; Brych, Jan (referee)
Title: The influence of optoeletronic gunsight on shooting accuracy and precision Objectives: The primary aim of this diploma thesis is to statistically appraise the influence of optoelectronic gunsight on shootihg accuracy and precision. The sighting device was mounted on Heckler & Koch MP5 machine gun during both static and dynamic shooting practices. Methods: Shooting targets evaluation was based on the numerical method of detecting the mean point of impact. Statistical data processing was based on the method of comparison of means. To determine statistical significance we used dispersion analysis by means od ANOVA program. Results: We ascertained that the employment of optoelectronic gunsight has a statisticaly significant effect on static shootig accuracy. From a shooting precision point of view, there was great statistical significance of the employment of optoelectronic gunsight during dynamic shooting practices, namely on the vertical "y" - axis. Keywords: gunsight, shooting, assault rifle, target, laser
