The brief description of common trends in asylum policy in European Union and EFTA (European Free Trade Zone) member countries and outline of current policy towards asylum seekers, where current living conditions are part of it. Also the position of asylum seekers in specific spheres such as education, right to work, financial and social security, health service and accommodation is discussed. Another goal is to compare the practices in the asylum policy in the Czech Republic with the policies towards the asylum seekers of other six EU member countries - Denmark, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. There is also an introduction of governmental steps which deal with the immigration law or asylum law and therefore regulate the living conditions of asylum seekers in their country.
Comparative analysis of professional texts
Molecular characteristics of ductal carcinoma in situ, and their clinical impact
Böhm, Jan ; Zikán, Michal (advisor) ; Dundr, Pavel (referee) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
Objectives: Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is a non-invasive lesion of an increasing clinical importance. Individual risk assessment is essential for an optimal treatment. Our objective was to identify clinical and molecular characteristics of a subgroup of DCIS with an unfavorable prognosis. Methods: In a population study, we analyzed women with DCIS diagnosed within one mammography screening unit. In the experimental part of this work, we conducted a comparative analysis of five biological markers in normal tissue, DCIS and invasive breast cancer by means of gene expression analysis and analysis of loss of heterozygosity (LOH). Results: We demonstrated a high proportion of pure (no invasive component) DCIS (14.41%) of all breast lesions described as malignant. In our sample, we saw a homogeneous distribution of risk factors without noting a clear pattern identifying high-risk subtypes. We noted significant differences in clinical management of tumors with similar characteristics, which demonstrates the present state of limited use of clinical predictors. In the laboratory experiment, we showed differences in loss of heterozygosity (LOH) between DCIS and invasive breast cancer for BRCA1 (8.69% vs. 44.74%) and BRCA2 (9.52% vs. 45.0%). In contrast, we did not find any differences for p53 (31.82%...
International comparative analysis of suicide mortality
Barešová, Tereza ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Ženíšková, Aneta (referee)
International comparative analysis of suicide mortality Abstract The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the development of suicide mortality in international context between 2000-2015. At the beginning, the thesis resumes historical development of research into this cause of death and scientific approaches by which can be suicide examined. It then describes the main risk factors of suicide and identifies the most vulnerable groups of people. The available data are research mainly through standardized suicide mortality rates in total and in selected age groups. This thesis analyzes suicide in 47 countries (36 European, 7 Asian, 1 African and Canada, Australia and New Zealand). It has been found that eastern European countries have the highest suicide mortality rates. At the same time, these countries recorded the most significant decline in these rates between 2000-2015. In the long term, the lowest suicide rates are characterized by the countries of southern Europe. The hypothesis of male mortality excess was confirmed in all analyzed countries. This thesis also confirmed the assumption that the intensity of suicide mortality rate increases in direct proportion to age in all analyzed countries (except for Finnish, Norwegian, Canadian and Australian women). Keywords: mortality, suicidal tendency,...
Comparative analysis of the use of methodologies for properties evaluation in Germany for expert practice in the Czech Republic
Imrišová, Ivana ; Korytárová, Jana (referee) ; Hyánek,, Vladimír (referee) ; Kledus, Robert (advisor)
The subject of the dissertation is the analysis of conditions for the work of real estate appraisers in the Federal Republic of Germany in comparison with the conditions in the Czech Republic with the aim of finding suitable practices that could be used for the work of experts in the Czech Republic. The thesis also includes proposals for suitable measures that can contribute to the development of expert activities in the Czech Republic, focusing on solving problems related to the determination of the exchange value of immovable property. This analysis includes the analysis of real estate types that are subject to assessment in the given area, approaches to solving valuation problems, methods that are used in valuing immovable assets, entities that are authorized to submit expert opinions, as well as content requirements of expert opinions.
Evolution of the telencephalon in amniotes
Stehlík, Patrik ; Němec, Pavel (advisor) ; Druga, Rastislav (referee)
Structural organization of the telencephalon differs starkly among mammals, birds and non-avian reptiles. No clear homologue of the mammalian six-layered cerebral cortex has been identified in other vertebrate groups. In the last century, this topic has sparked heated disscussions in the field of comparative neurobiology. Available data point to clear homologies between telencephalic subpallial regions among all amniotes. Many hypotheses have been proposed about homologies within the pallium that offer contrasting reconstructions of the evolution of the aminote telencephalon. While earlier hypotheses suggest homologies at the level of neural circuits and embryological territories, the most recent hypothesis suggests homology at the level of individual cell types possessed by a last common ancestor of reptiles, birds and mammals. The resulting diametrically different structures have been organized by different developmental mechanisms. However, recent transcriptomic data are in direct conflict with these claims, and support the hypothesis which assumes that higher cognitive functions in both major lineages of amniotes evolved independently by expansion of different embryonic fields. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to provide comprehensive information about the proposed homologies and hypotheses...

KREJZLOVÁ, Anna
This bachelor thesis deals with two postmodern novels: The Collector (1963) of the British novelist John R. Fowles and Lolita (1955) by the American writer Vladimir V. Nabokov. At first the thesis focuses on a brief overview of both authors' lives, as well as on the postmodern tendencies in their works, moreover it provides a short description of postmodernism itself. Next, the main features of the Gothic novel and its founders are described along with the characters of their major works. With respect to the Gothic tradition, Edgar A. Poe's short stories are introduced with the emphasis on his evil manipulative characters. Subsequently, the previous antiheroes and heroines from the Gothic novels are compared to the contemporary characters from The Collector and Lolita. In the following chapters, the thesis pays attention to a brief summary of both novels and then it focuses on the comparative analysis of selected themes: surroundings and their function, the loss of freedom, narrators and their communication with readers, conscience and the loss of identity.
