Separators, sedimentation tanks including the functions of the retention basins Jeneweinova
Turic, Jakub ; Půža, Pavel (referee) ; Veselý, Jaroslav (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis are the issues of separators and sedimentation tanks, including function of retention basin Jeneweinova in Brno. The current work describes the basic physical and hydrodynamic specifics of water and divides the water pollution. The bachelor thesis describes also particular separation and sedimentation tanks, their purpose and usage. Our study follows up the causes for flooding and utilization of retention basin as flood protection. A part of this thesis is the description of retention basin Jeneweinova, their design, purpose and functions.
Evaluation of Industrial Pollution of the Environment in the Moravian-Silesian Region Using Radioanalytical Methods
Brunčiaková, Miriama ; Varmuža, Jan (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
Moravian-Silesian Region is a part of an area so called „small black triangle". It is an area of higher pollution caused by some kind of industrial zone. This region belongs to the most polluted atmosphere in the Czech Republic. The pollution is caused by various factors but the most negative one is metallurgic industry but also mine-mining, transport, and small local furnaces. To analyze pollution, the instrumental neutron activation analysis with analyzing of moss samples were used. The moss has rudimentary root system so it takes nutrients as well as heavy metals from the atmosphere. All irradiation has performed in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP) at the reactor IBR-2M. Two kinds of irradiation have been performed as short-term irradiation as long-term irradiation. Short-term irradiation took about 3 mins and then short-lived isotopes were measured for about 15 mins. The long-lived isotopes were measured twice after about 4 days for 30 mins and after 23 days for 90 mins after 3 days of irradiation. For long term irradiation, the cadmium-screened irradiation channel was used. For analyzation and data processing the software Genie 2000 as well as software developed at FLNP JINR were used. In sum, 43 samples of the terrestrial mosses (Hypnum cupressiforme, Pleurozium schreberi and Brachythecium rutabulum) were collected in autumn of 2015 in which the concentration of 38 elements were determined, including heavy metals. As a result, the factor analysis have been performed as well as maps analyzation.
Optimization of method for evaluation ETICS dirtiness
Gabriel, Jindřich ; Žák,, Antonín (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of adhesion of pollution to the final surface treatments of the ETICS system. The theoretical part deals with important factors and processes that affect the degree of adhesion of pollution. The practical part of the diploma thesis follows the diploma thesis of Ing. Jakub Krejčík. Optimization of test methods for simulation of artificial pollution on tested samples was proposed. These samples were then evaluated in the laboratory and also compared with plasters that were exposed to real pollution from the natural environment.
ResPublica/Civitas Socialis - Strachotín
Ambrus, Adam ; Magnusek, Pavel (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The House of Memory combines the functions of a cyanobacteria purifier, museum and a winery, in reaction to the conditions of the place.
Operation of rain gutters
Chotová, Tereza ; Balas, Jan (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part focuses on rain gutters, their distribution, operation and cleaning. The pollution, pre-treatment of rainwater and rainwater management are alco described here. The second practical part includes testing of selected street rain gutters in the institute of municipal water management laboratories (VHO). Furthermore, these rain gutters are compared and evaluated according to these criteria: filter construction, amount of captured material and cleaning system.
Integral sediment sampler
Zouhar, Josef ; Štigler, Jaroslav (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with analysis of flow inside integral SPM sampler. Flowing is described for one-phase flow and multi-phase flow (water-solid particles) approaches. Results of computational modeling and experimental modeling are compared. Experimental box was constructed and its construction is noticed. Methods of used computational and experimental modeling are described. Optimal computational model is recommended. The theme of this thesis was chosen in co-operation with Czech Geological Survey whitin the frame of project MŽP „SP/1b7/156/07“.
The Effect of the Time of Bird Droppings Remaining on the Vehicle Body on the Damage Degree of the Paintwork
Bílek, Tomáš ; Kaluža, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bradáč, Albert (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the degree of damage done to the vehicle‘s body paint varnish by bird droppings; with respect to the influence of the pollution time on the thickness of the layer of lacquer. The first chapter deals with the importance of varnish and other layers of body protection, types of body varnish damage, painting technology, lacquer defects, bird droppings and its effects on the varnish of the vehicle‘s body. The second chapter is dedicated exclusively to the description, planning and measurement of the coated layers on the vehicle’s body contaminated with bird feces.
Pollution entering the Moravian Karst via surface streams
Vaculíková, Klára ; Tůma, RNDr Antonín (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
The Diploma Thesis deals with the water pollution entering the Protected Landscape Area Moravian Karst via surface streams. In order to quantify the extent of the pollution surface streams entering the Moravian Karst were selected. A survey of a region of interest was done. Actual volume flow rate, measurements of physicochemical parameters, water samplings, laboratory analyses of samples were done monthly from April to November 2019. Conductivity, pH, temperature, oxidation-reduction potential, concentration of dissolved oxygen, and oxygen saturation were measured in situ. Afterwards, COD, BOD, phosphate, total phosphorus, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and Kjeldahl nitrogen were determined in the laboratory. Organic nitrogen and total nitrogen were also calculated. The results were evaluated with a respect of Government Decree No. 401/2015 Coll. Material flows were calculated for selected parameters and used as other criterion that evaluate the water pollution of monitoring surface streams. Areas out of the PLA needing an enhanced protection of watercourses were proposed based on quantified pollution. Cooperation with two primary schools in the Moravian Karst supported the research. Pupils and their teachers were trained, and they measured phosphate in surface streams from April to November 2019. The website related to phosphorus in surface water were created and results of phosphate measurement were uploaded there.
Removal of Specific Pollution in Water Treatment
Tázlerová, Radka ; Vašalovská, Petra (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The present work deals with the specific problem of pollution in drinking water sources and potential removal of these substances in water treatment for drinking water. Attention was focused on hormones, pesticides and heavy metals. There have been reports of their properties, occurrence, impact on the environment and humans.
Aspects impact trends in the operation technology of civil aviation aircraft
Korytář, Jan ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Chlebek, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of the work is a general description of the effects on air traffic and aircraft. The first part of the work is devoted to a brief description of the development of individual technical parameters and performance of aircraft from the 1920s to the present with an assessment of the effects. The second part of the work is about the influence of current requirements and the third part is a general view of the future development of construction and technology for more economical and environmentally friendly air transport
