Cross-border coopertion of the Moravian-Silesian Region

The topic of this diploma thesis is cross-border cooperation of the Moravian-Silesian region. It contains a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on regional development and regional policy, including the financing of development strategies. Furthermore, it covers the topic of cross-border cooperation and the characteristics of the Moravian-Silesian region. The practical part is focused on the investment project Hraniční vrch Lookout Tower located in the town of Albrechtice. This project was created in the framework of cross-border cooperation with Poland. Using the knowledge from the theoretical part, the outcome is processed as the evaluation of the impact of cross-border cooperation project on the development of the region in relation to tourism.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find areas in which South-Moravian, Zlín, Trenčín and Trnava regions could cooperate to improve the factors influencing foreign investors. At the beginning of the thesis, the information available on the topic of investment attractiveness and cross-border cooperation is outlined and the factors influencing the location of foreign investments are defined here. In the next part a socio-economic analysis of individual regions is carried out, focusing on defining the factors that are available in the territory and then SWOT analysis. Finally, the thesis contains a synthesizing chapter with defined areas of cooperation and elaborate concrete proposals.

This diploma thesis evaluates collaboration between Czech and Polish republic. It primarily focuses on the joint procedures of both countries in scope of their membership in European Union and on how do these neighbouring countries cooperate. Next step is the Visegrad group and how czech and polish people from the borders feel about it and the EU. One of the objectives of this theses is to analyse and compare past and present program periods of crossboarder cooperation. The cavitational and quantitative research were used for realization of this research. Using the combination of these methods led to obtaining of the informations that were needed for answering the goals of this thesis. Comparing the previous and the present programmatic period showed, that there were changes in the priority axes. The flag initiatives are being introduced with the goal of guiding and increasing the impact of the new projects.
The Cross-Border cooperation of Health Emergency Services in the Sumava Euroregion

The diploma thesis deals with a case of cross-border cooperation in the European Union, namely the cross-border cooperation of health emergency services in the Šumava Euroregion. The research focuses mainly on how this cooperation has been arranged and how the European integration theory can be applied to this case study. The diploma thesis analyzes the role of different actors, what contracts were needed for the cross-border cooperation, how the negotiationof the project took place, where the initiative for this cross-border cooperation originated or what complications occurred. The topic of cross-border cooperation of health emergency services is a practical example of European integration and therefore it also includes the study of cross-border cooperation of regions in the European Union, the role of EU funds for regional development and last but not least the EU health policy. The thesis is based on the theory of European territorial integration, which is characterized by the disappearance of the border and suppression of the unilateral orientation of the state inland. Cross-border cooperation of the South Moravian Region

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cross-border cooperation of the South Moravian Region. The theoretical part deals with the definition of terms such as region, regional economics, regional policy, and regional development. It also deals with the regional structure of the Czech Republic, NUTS regions or regional policy institutions. The last chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to the possibilities of financing development strategies and cross-border cooperation. The following is a part of the description of standard-specific research called Real estate market analysis in cross-border regions and the designation FAST-S-19-5899 based on which the topic of this work was selected. In the practical part, it characterizes the South Moravian Region and the village Mikulčice specifically described the selected project and its financing. The conclusion is a theoretical proposal of other financing options and an evaluation of the impact that the project has on the development of the region.
Reterritorialization of the Western Ukraine Borderlands. The Case Study of Lviv Oblast.

The Diploma is focused on the EU's external borders impact on the border area of Lviv. Both local and regional level of social and economic development of the border area and its relations with Poland and EU are examined in the context of political development from the beginning of independent Ukraine until presents. Mixed-Methods approach has been applied as it allows case studies to be set in a wider context. Structural and regional disparities of the development are observed by methods of quantitative analysis and Descriptive Statistics. Qualitative Research is applied to analyse a cognitive role of the border. From the political point of view, the development of Eastern European border area is controlled by European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and related EU regional political initiative. In the Western Ukrainian regions these are mainly represented by micro-projects focused on local problems and their solutions and intensification of the local cross-border cooperation development. Statistical analysis states that remarkable economic development has not reached the required level yet. However, the increasing social and infrastructural potential ushers in its rise in the future. The Cross-border co-operation EU and chosen state

The theme of my thesis is The Cross-border co-operation Czech Republic and Germany in the framework of programme INTERREG IV in period 2007-2013 Emphasis is placed on analysis, and subsequent comparison of the cooperation between the two countries. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part is devoted to the European Union, regional policy in the European Union, cross-border cooperation in general and the history of the European territorial cooperation. In the second part of the thesis is an analysis of crossborder cooperation within the Programme Cross-border Cooperation of Czech Republic and Saxony and analysis of cross-border co-operation within the Programme Cross-border Cooperation of Czech Republic and Bavaria. In the last part of this thesis is the comparison of both operational programs and Euroregions, which are part of a subsequent evaluation of the results and their possible contribution to removing regional disparities.
Cross-boarder Cooperation of Towns in Czech-Bavarian Border Area and its Importance for Tourism Development

The aim of this thesis is to identify the bilateral cooperation of Czech and Bavarian cities in selected areas, structures and areas of cooperation and to evaluate its contribution to the development of tourism. It also inculude the suggestion for the collective tourism development in selected partner cities on the aspect of cross-border cooperation.

The diploma thesis is focused on two thematic units. The first on is analysis of cross-border cooperation between Austria and Slovenia. The aim of this part is to find out the forms of cooperation between the states, its advantages or disadvantages. Analysis method of realized cross-border programs and regarding current situation has been used. The second unit is focused on analysis of cross-border part citizen´s identity which is seen as specific region. Goal of this part is to find out the impacts of meeting and melting two different nations in one area but also how is the relation of these neighbour nations who are sharing one border. The implementation of research has been made by qualitative and quantitative research: participant observation, guided interview and questionnaire. The combination of these methods achieved results that could be applied to the borderland region.
