Living on the outskirts of the city
Sedláčková, Jana ; Malečková, Kateřina (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The goal of the bachelor's thesis is to design housing that will meet the requirements of modern urban housing and will draw the benefits of suburban housing in the outskirts at the same time. The design was based on the author's previous work in the architectural design studio, which focused mainly on the analytical and design part, with the conclusion of an architectural study. The subject of this bachelor thesis is the creation of design documentation of Housing in the outskirts of the city. The documentation for a building permission and the documentation for production design were simplified for the purposes of the bachelor's thesis. The aim of the work is to create a proposal and prove its feasibility in accordance with Czech laws and standards. The proposal shows the possibility of contemporary living, which uses the advantages of community living (common areas such as garage, cellar, utility room; lower energy consumption) and also excels in the possibilities of individual living, which is characterized by a separate entrance and a separate garden or terrace. The design combines both types of housing, which are typically named buildings such as apartment building and family house. However, the proposal goes beyond these titles and seeks its definition in words such as villahouse.

Muzikářová, Veronika ; Czapek, Jakub (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The master project focuses on the design of a multifunctional apartment building situated in the new South quarter of Brno in the context of its urban development and also based on the urban and volumetric study titled Brno - new South quarter, published by Kancelář architekta města Brna (KAM). Brno, like most big cities, is struggling with suburbanization, therefore the current topic is to solve mainly the development in the city in a way that people do not need to leave beyond its borders. The main focus of this thesis is the design and research of the gallery-access apartment building with the gallery situated on the front facade. Part of the thesis is also separate book of analysis, that was made together with colleagues as an undergraduate project.
Brno Connectivity / Brno Democratic City
Vašková, Vendula ; Hrivňáková, Klára (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
Living in a city means living with other people. We share streets, squares, and parks. When we come home, we become individualists. The concept is based on connectivity. The project focuses on connecting people, it blurs the boundaries between public and private space. The project aims to redefine the connection between public and private space. I work with this approach in both outdoor and indoor spaces. I create a sequence of several interconnected spaces that will lead the residents from the busy city to the privacy of their rooms. The project focuses on the design of community housing. Neighbors don't share a place, they share a life.
Space to live
Pekař, Jan ; Likavčan, Maroš (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis is devoted to the issue of healthy living in the Brno urban gap. Due to the trend of urbanization and densification of housing, it is increasingly difficult to find a suitable environment for healthy living. Therefore, the thesis tries to find a solution how we can design a house, its layout and interior furnishings for healthy living even in these difficult conditions. During the previous semester of the pre-dissertation, I have interviewed experts and based on these interviews, I propose appropriate layouts and interior features. These elements were designed to promote the health and well-being of the occupants. These elements include such things as the placement and characteristic of lights or lighting, materials or interior elements that promote healthy human development. One of the main objectives of the work is to show that even in areas with limited space, natural light, natural greenery it is possible to create healthy living. The thesis also tries to answer questions about the impact of modern technologies and new trends such as home office, or other options for working and studying from home, and to show how we can minimize this impact through appropriate design of the apartment building. Overall, this thesis addresses current issues such as diseases of affluence, major lifestyle changes caused by the development of modern technology that our dwellings have not been able to adapt to. It shows how it is possible to design healthy housing even in spaces where it may be initially difficult and how such a solution can help to minimize the impact of modern times on the health of the inhabitants.

TOWN HOUSE IN A COMPACT CITY, OLD BRNO
Ordeltová, Kristýna ; Todorov, Petr (referee) ; Kiszka, Josef (advisor)
This work deals with the design of an urban polyfunctional house in the context of living in the 21st century. Emphasis is placed on an alternative form of cohousing and shared living (coliving), but a high level of privacy and independence is maintained. The building is designed as a multifunctional house with a predominant community content such as a library or coworking offices. The phenomenon of living in an apartment building is enriched with additional functions, and living in the city is thus raised to a higher level. At the same time, the bachelor‘s thesis builds on previous findings from my studio work and concretizes the form of urban design and connections in the entire block of Leitnerova-Hybešova.

Baugruppe Now
Šťastná, Anna ; Císler, Ondřej (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
Baugruppe, as an alternative option for housing, is made up of a group of people who are looking for a way to create their own housing according to their ideas. They become developers themselves, looking for interesting solutions for their housing that the regular real estate market does not offer. Together, they find land that is often less attractive to ordinary developers and compromise to decide on all the design steps. For the proposed Baugruppe, the site is situated in the town Znojmo, Czech republic. The plots were chosen in such a way that they did not have any particular qualities - on the contrary, that they were rather places that were not at first sight very attractive. The theme of the work is to portray the Baugruppe way of living as community housing. The proposal seeks to figure out a way to make community coexistence as natural as possible for all Baugruppe participants. Whether just meeting the neighbors on the way to their apartments, meeting on the terrace with a friend from the opposite apartment or organizing an event in the common interior/exterior spaces for all Baugruppe participants. All these spaces create a slightly different atmosphere and become a combination of different small worlds that intertwine with each other. At the same time, the aim of the work is to create a house that opens up to its surroundings while allowing all the events of the house to take place undisturbed inside.
