Diagnostic markers specific language impairment from the perspective of a speech therapist

This thesis deals with specific language impairment. The theoretical part introduces related terminology, classification, etiology, symptomatology and diagnostic issues. The research section analyzes the different linguistic levels in a sample of children and devotes a common specific variations in verbal production that could be designed as diagnostic markers. The qualitative study was an analysis of verbal production of nine children ranging in age from 5.4 to 5.7 years, with specific language impairment. In all the statements were reflected deficits in the use of sibilance, skipping voice in the first position, disruption of understanding to varying extents, incorrect naming and difficulties výbavností words and disturbance of speech and other prosodic factors. Comparison of different language levels at preschool age and their mutual penetration

The main aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to analyse the development of particular language levels in preschool children. The theoretical part deals with the psychomotor development, communication, impaired communication ability and development of communication skills in children during preschool education. It describes the possibilities of influencing the speech development in this stage and providing logopedic intervention. The empiric part of the Bachelor's thesis deals with comparing differences in grades of particular language levels in children at the age of 4 - 5 years and subsequently at the age of 5 - 6 (7) years before their entrance to school. On the basis of comparison and research investigation of a sample of 10 children in an ordinary kindergarten during a year period, it describes the most common deficiencies in partial areas of the particular language levels. According to the results of this investigation it brings in a few suggestions for pedagogical practice.

Basic features of Spanish spoken in Andalusia

This Bachelor's thesis deals with the definition of the main features of Andalusian Spanish, which we found in the phonetic, phonological, lexical and grammatical planes. In the introduction the important historical information explains the origins of Spanish in Andalusia. The longest section is devoted to the question of whether Andalusian Spanish is a language, a dialect, variation or even multiple variations of Spanish. This section is based on a comparison of the views of leading experts on Andalusian Spanish and is accompanied by some personal observations. The comunication skills development in preschool children with the specific needs

The thesis involves communication skills of preschool children with intellectual disability. The theoretical part describes development of communication skills, impact of intellectual disability on communication skills and diagnoses of children observed in the research part of the thesis. The practical part is based on qualitative research with casuist research problems. The main goal of the research was to describe the conditions of preschool children with intellectual disability and the possibilities of development of their communication skills. The result of the executed research are stories of five children, results of their communication skills diagnostics and suggestions and activities that can encourage and develop their communication. Methods of observation and direct work with children were used in the practical part. In the conclusion I summarized the communication skills levels of the observed children, the means of communication between the teachers and the children and the ways used to develop their communication skills.
Aspects of deviated communication disorders

Thesis is aimed at children; within 5.5 to 6.5 years of age; with disturbed communication ability. The method of critical analysis of scientific sources was used to explain current trends of speech therapy and special education diagnostics and also to explain current possibilities and risks while educating students with disturbed communication ability. Simultaneously, the analysis of the diagnostic process in the advisory service was done. The research was done within a six-year term and included 848 respondents. The results showed that a high amount of students are entering first grade of primary school with disturbed communication ability. An analysis of disturbed communication ability and an analysis of progressive speech therapy diagnostics to map language levels was done. Standardised diagnostic tools including mathematical and statistical methods were used to evaluate the results. The results of this research mapped the communication ability of respondents (age 5,5-6,5 years) and showed the need for improvements in the diagnostic process. Phonological and morphological skills of preschool children

This bachelor's thesis is focusing on the development of preschool children, primarily on their phonological and morphological abilities. The main objective of this thesis is to examine further risks of reading abilities,indicating possibilities of reducing all these risks by the methodical work with children of preschool age. In the theoretical definition the physical, psychological and social development of children is defined, as well as their maturity and readiness for school in regards to speech as well as their phonological and morphological abilities. The practical part is focused on quantitative research of preschool children, with a focus specifically on the observation of variables, mostly in phonological and morphological abilities, techniques, practices. Based on obtained results are recommended exercises for the development of these abilities.
Preventing defects of pronunciation by children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds

Bachelor thesis is focused on prevention of speech defects among to children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part introduces the reader with socially disadvantaged families, defines the basic concepts of communication, introduce them to the stages of development of children's speech and impaired communication abilities and focuses on dyslalia. Finally, readers familiar with the possibilities of preventing defects of pronunciation. The goal of the practical part is a compilation articulation and breathing exercises for daily work of teachers in the kindergarten and thus show her how to work with children from socially disadvantaged environment, so as to prevent defects pronunciation. The survey is carried out qualitatively, by participating unstructured observation and completed worksheets.

The thesis finds out how the logopaedic prevention influences the ontogenesis of children´s speech in a common kindergarten. It deals with the influence of the family on children´s speech development. It is focused on the main components of the language in ontogenesis of children´s speech development. It explains the most frequent communicative disabilities at preschool age - delayed speech and dyslalia. It also deals with the role of a kindergarten teacher from the point of view of the development of the child´s communication abilities and the methods of prevention.
