The Study of Artifacts in MR Tomographic Images for Medical and Technical Applications
Al Khaddour, Mouin ; Frollo, Ivan (referee) ; Jiřík, Radovan (referee) ; Fiala, Pavel (advisor)
The Phenomenology of Touch and Desire
Vojtěšková, Jitka ; Hanzlová, Alžběta (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
Still life arise from interactions related to a particular situation, location and experience. They are composed of objects that are located on a given place, of my own and borrowed or donated by my "partners". Reflect the time memory. They are a physical reminder of the experience. Still Life is manipulated, staged, composed of various artifacts that are symbolic bearer of facts that preceded them, Images may affect the perception of emotions associated with the concept of beauty, transience, decay, evoking a feeling of emptiness, to reflect the time - an irreversible momentum. Photos show a banal, everyday objects, often so obvious and neglected, What remains for us ... What remains ... What goes around ... What is gone ... Similar scenarios acquire different meanings, finding what is already absent,
The Possible Limits of Spatial Arrangement
Homola, Ondřej ; Zálešák, Jan (referee) ; Franta, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor thesis seeks the interspace between artifact and installation and the works of artists and "architect of the exhibition" in order to question the role of authorship of a work of art and to argue over the value of artwork. It uses collage approach to combine gallery space, arrangement and artifacts. The thesis refers to modern and archival turn in contemporary art.
The Image of Mother in the Work of Tomáš H.
HRUBÁ, Helena
This bachelor´s thesis concentrates on relation of mother and child in its early childhood with consequent impacts of this relation on adulthood. It is set upon analogies between unsatisfactory mother-son relation in latter´s childhood and latent meaning of found symbolic of oral frustration or separation anxiety in son´s (who´s a professional artist) creative production. Concept of mother is mentioned here in all of its available symbolic modifications. Theoretic part concentrates on mother-child relation from psychoanalytic and analytical psychology´s perspective. Subsequently, it briefly mentions prominent psychoanalytics´ fundamental views of this problem. The second theoretical area forms the psychology of art where essential questions of creative art-artist relation (perhaps even spectator) are being presented once more. In addition, not even both theoretical and philosophical approach to creative art should be left out. Pivotal part of thesis is devoted to Tomáš H.´s personality involves artist´s biography, analysis and interpretation of three artifacts on which findings from psychoanalysis and artetherapy are being applied. The thesis´ aim is to confront both latent and manifest content of probed artifacts, along with the interconnection of these findings with artist-mother relation in artist´s early childhood. The final part seeks answers to key questions concerning mother-son-creative production relationships. The thesis´ contribution is seen in artetherapy´s significance affirmation, in its close connection with psychoanalysis and application of artetherapy methods in practice which yields relevant results.
Natural or Artificial Intelligence?
Havlík, Vladimír
The distinction between natural and artificial is the basic question which fundamentally affects other considerations and conclusions connected with artificial intelligence. The article deals with few examples of natural-artificial distinction in the philosophy of science and then discuss what results from it for the problem of intelligence. On the basis of Dennett’s conception of intentionality it tries to show that besides the traditional conception there is another perspective in which the natural-artificial distinction disappears.
Disturbing artifacts of radiodiagnostic modalities
ŠEDA, Miroslav
This work gives information on machines used for diagnostic imaging aimed to disturbing scan artefacts of chosen device (CT, MR, USG). Radiology assistant work still more depends on technique which helps in examination. The machines used for clients´ examination are thanks to IT development still more complicated. They allow high-quality and precious images, give more possibilities of treatment ways, save the client. Operating this technique is the domain of radiology assistants. Development without restrain leads to period when operating staff will work more independently. It is necessary for the radiology assistant to manage all steps in examinations which are undergone. He has to keep radiation protection and the quality of the image result as well. The result of most diagnostic examination in radiology department is image information. Image results can be from various reasons changed or deformed in comparison with the reality. Such distorted images can lead up to mistaken or late diagnosis by the physician. Radiology assistant is the first specialist who must be able to judge whether the examination has been done correctly or to warn the physician of possible variation or image deformation. Moderation or suppression of artefacts in image results in examination is easy in some cases. Then it is enough to explain the process of examination to the client and to emphasize how important is to cooperate with the staff. In some cases is technically impossible to impact the manifestation of artefacts as it results from the principle of examination method, or because of high financial costs unbearable for the health institute. In my work I aimed to image artefacts of machines (CT, MR, USG) which can be met in common clinical practice. I tried to document these image artefacts in common running. Part of my work is to describe the causes of artefacts appearance and the way how to avoid or remove their manifestation.
Artifact removal from EEG recordings III
Zima, Miroslav ; Tichavský, Petr ; Krajča, V.
Electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings are often corrupted by presence of unwanted artifact signals. This work is focused on removal of artifact that have a relatively short duration and a large amplitude - such as eye blinks, and patient movement artifacts. It presents a method of removal of these artifacts using methods of independent component analysis in short windows. The method is tested on neonatal (8 channel) EEG recordings. The recordings may have an arbitrary length.
Scrum methodology
Košata, Václav ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Balada, Jakub (referee)
Scrum methodology is commonly used methodology now, because of its high ability to adapt to changing requirements and its transparency of development. Scrum does not offer set of techniques or exact progression but shows framework- how to look at the development of correct software. This thesis focuses on description and explanation of the methodology's practices, roles and rules. Additionally it contains analysis of the project phases and the artifacts which the developing team encountered during their work. The goal of this work is to present a complete description of the methodology, which is followed by practical using IBM's software Rational Team Concert. This bachelor thesis can be used for education on university campuses or as a practical aid for developing teams making use of the benefits of this agile methodology.
