This work is concentrating on production of elektricity from waste heat. The work mainly deals with Organic Rankine cycle (further referred to as ORC), basic theory of ORC is summarised here and for comparison is given Rankin-Clausius cycle as well. Further part of the work is dedicated to ORC unit as a system, an overview of manufacturers of ORC units and their range of products is given here as well, short comparison of ORC units was carried out. Further the work is dealing with problems of the incinerator and the possibility of using the ORC unit. The conclusion of the work is dedicated to the ekonomic evaluation of the application of ORC in the Czech Republic considering the implementation study.
Biogas cogeneration
Miča, Martin ; Chroboczek, Libor (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis discusses biogas cogeneration. The introductory part deals with biogas production and its treatment before energetic use. The main body of the thesis focuses on various methods of energetic utilization of biogas and biogas processing in particular biogas station in Nové Město na Moravě. From the realised measurements there were created graphs of produced, sold and consumed electrical energy depending on days and average daily temperature. The last part of the thesis gives possibilities of waste heat recovery in wood dryer.
Utilization of compressor waste heat into the district heating system by means of an absorption heat pump
Aranguren Campos, Fabian Alexis ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
With the growth of energy consumption and the optimization of industrial processes worldwide, new energy sources have been explored and investigated. Waste heat is a potential source for the generation of electricity and heat. This heat can be reused at different stages of industrial processes by using absorption heat pumps, which transfer thermal energy from a location with a lower thermal potential to a location with a higher thermal potential. This research work is basically focused on the evaluation of different absorption heat pumps implemented in the SAKO Brno incineration plant. To carry out this purpose, a bibliographic review of this technology has been carried out worldwide, then the mass and energy balance in the compressor is presented, from which the waste heat to be recovered with the pump will be obtained. Using the EES software, the mass and energy balance of the selected pumps is performed, then the amount of heat and electrical energy generated by the plant when implementing each of the pumps is shown, and finally the economic analysis is presented The design and implementation of a heat exchanger in the system is also included as an essential part of improving operation. The best option arises from the highest operational efficiency at the lowest possible cost.
Waste heat within professional laundry
Svoboda, Adam ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Bobák, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with professional laundry service and background research on commercial opportunities for utilization of waste heat in industrial laundries. The practical part consists in measuring properties of the waste flow from the industrial washing machine and the calculation of potentially useful heat. In the conclusion possible risks of using heat from waste water and a draft plan for this use are formulated.
Waste heat recovery from processes using heat pumps
Marada, Petr ; Zejda, Vojtěch (referee) ; Havlásek, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the possibilities of using waste heat from the processes by heat pumps. The first part defines the waste heat and deals with the possibilities and ways of its use. The next section describes the different types of heat pumps, their components and sources from which it is possible to draw the heat. The last part shows the calculation of return on investment to make heat pump for heating office buildings.
Design of heat recovery steam generator with two pressure levels
Zaidullina, Liliia ; Křemínský, Pavel (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This Master’s thesis focuses on the design of vertical heat recovery steam generators. This work focuses on three main objectives. The first objective is to describe the heat recovery steam generators, there basic principle and construction. The second focal objective is thermal calculation, design of heat tranfer surfaces and choice of materials. The third objective was to calculate the boiler loss, hydraulic calculation and subsequent design of the drum dimensions.
Energy saving of large objects
Řehák, Pavel ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the economical measures using own heat and power production using cogeneration units, use of renewable resources to partially cover the consumption of objects, reduction of thermal losses by evaporation in the outdoor swimming pool and overall increase of waste heat utilization by exchanger heat exchangers from flue gas and heat from waste water.
Heat recovery
Dužík, Vojtěch ; Rubinová, Olga (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to theoretically, practically and experimentally explore different ways of waste heat utilization in the building industry. The work is divided into three basic passages. In the first part I analyze the theoretical nature of the various physical processes in recovery and is there a practical use. More emphasis is placed on heat recovery from wastewater, as I am using this way of recuperation in other parts of this diploma thesis. In the second point, I apply the use of heat from waste water when designing a technical solu-tion for the reconstruction of the heating system of the clinic. The design is solved in two variants. The first suggested location lokali- them, recuperative, shower exchanger operation rehabilitation, bath and massage. In the second variant, central recovery is envisaged using a heat exchanger in the accumulator well and water-water heat pump. Based on the technical and economic evaluation, the first option was selected. The second variant is ineffective and remains only in the case study. In the last section, I experimentally investigate the thermal efficiency and the relative savings of the heat exchanger, which is designed in the first variant of the second part. Measurement, processing of results and evaluation I made for laboratory conditions and for real conditions with the showering person. Finally, I appreciate the eco-nomic benefits of this facility.
Utilization of waste heat for heating and hot water
Dvouletý, Tomáš ; Jaroš, Michal (referee) ; Katolický, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis aims to design a device for utilization of waste heat for heating and hot water in NETME Centre in area of FSI VUT in Brno. First of all there is summary of available sources of waste heat and evaluation of serviceability. Next there is design of a device for utilization of waste heat. Design incluades calculation of heat exchangers and selection of particular heat exchangers. It also incluades design of duct system which anables transportation of heated water from heat exchangers to machine room. In machine room is situated storage tank for accumulation of gained waste heat. This storage tank is conected to heating system and to consumption of hot water which anables utilization of waste heat. Finally there is economic evaluation based on amount of gained waste heat, consumption of heat and costs.
