The German Energiewende: Consensual Process ?
Slaba, Martin ; Nigrin, Tomáš (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines two very important subparts of the German energy revolution called Energiewende, specifically the level of consensus of the population with the costs of the whole transformation reflected in rising electricity prices and the necessity of expanding and building new power grid sections. The coalition government of SPD and the Greens, which led the state in years 1998-2005 started the whole process by announcing the nuclear phase-out of German Federal Republic and by implementing a renewable energy law (Erneubare Energien Gesetz, EEG) that serves as an instrument through which the renewable energy sources are being subsidized. The law lays all the burden on the final consumer, namely the households and companies, through an electricity surcharge. This surcharge has increased significantly since the year 2000, making the German electricity prices the highest in Europe. Thanks to its massive support, the number of renewable energy sources has risen to a rate, for which the transmission system operators were not prepared. It is obvious that in order to successfully continue with the Energiewende, the power grid has to be expanded. While the consensus of the population with these subparts is crucial, it is useful to know its levels. This thesis comes to the conclusion that...
Methodology for PLC evaluation in Smart Metering
Rusz, Martin ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is to acquire basic knowledge about PLC technology and to make a set of measurements focusing on the main parameters of this technology as well as to perform a set of short-term measurements of PLC communication in Smart Metering systems and to design a methodology for testing two real systems. Measurements were made in laboratory conditions on prepared tasks that covered all types of technology, both broadband and narrowband with one or more carriers. In addition, a methodology for testing PLC communications in Smart Metering systems was developed, which was applied to two systems using different technologies. On the basis of the results achieved, it was decided which of the two systems is more suitable for real use according to the methodology and set of short-term measurements.

Load Flow Calculation and Design of Distance Protection Relay Settings of 110 kV Overhead Line
Jasenský, Filip ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis load flow calculation and design of distance protection relay settings of 110 kV overhead line acquaints with the theory calculation of steady operation, short-circuit conditions and a proposal setting the distance protection. The theoretical part is made an example of a simple calculation to show leadership methods of calculation. The practical part is a calculation of steady operation and short-circuit conditions. Short-circuit ratios are calculated for a single operation and parallel operation of transformers in Otrokovice. Calculated using the initial shock symmetrical output from the calculation of short-circuit conditions is verified by short circuit resistance of substations. The practical section setting the distance protection ABB REL 316*4 and compensation earth faults. Calculation of steady state and short-circuit conditions designed basic operational state of the network, for which the design of a distance protection relay settings.
The calculation of the distance protection relay setings for HV line
Doležal, Marek ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
I divided this work into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part deals with theoretical calculation of setting for distance protection of high voltage line, possible defective states, which can appear on this network, and methods of calculating these defective states. The second part deals with application of the earlier described theory to calculation of distance protection for specified part of the network. The results of this work are all the parameters needed for setting of distance protection for one part of the network.
Super Grids Conception
Použití stejnosměrných (HVDC) a střídavých (HVAC) technologií je porovnáno z technického i ekonomického hlediska a z něj vycházející typické použití těchto technologií. Dále je podrobně popsána nejlepší dostupná technologie HVDC systémů – základní principy a konfigurace, popis jednotlivých částí, omezení současných technologií, dosavadní zkušenosti a možný prostor pro další vývoj. Následuje zmínka nových výzev oblasti HVAC technologií ve vztahu k Super Gridům a popis problémů souvisejících s hybridními AC/DC linkami a koridory. V poslední části jsou vysvětleny rozdíly v historickém vývoji a současných postojích v různých částech světa. Zároveň jsou představeny koncepce zvažovaných Super Gridů. Zvláštní prostor je poskytnut vizionářské koncepci vytvořené DESERTEC Foundation a technickoekonomické studii OffshoreGrid.
