Fuel cells in personal transport
Říha, Stanislav ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This thesis is oriented to historical evolution of fuel cell, his total analysis, description of single disadvantage and advantage with which fuel cells battle. An other reason for urgency of using alternative fuel, brief description of car market and possible guess of fuel cell's future in personal transport are involved in an other part of this thesis. The end of the thesis deal with cars of fuel cells split in parts according to single car companies.
Conducting polymers and their use in supercapacitors
Gottwald, Tomáš ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (referee) ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the issues of using conducting polymers for supercapacitor electrodes and optimizing the technological process for their production. The work focuses on optimizing the amount of polymer used in order to achieve the most capacity. The methodology consists of creating an appropriate experimental electrode and subsequent measuring its associated capacity with BioLogic. This approach leads to creating charts which show the dependencies of capacity on the amount of polymer used.
Research and Development of OnChip Solid Amalgam Microelectrode for the Detection of Biomacromolecules
Tkáčová, Tereza ; Drbohlavová, Jana (referee) ; Hrdý, Radim (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is utilising of amalgam electrodes in electrochemistry, especially for diagnostics of biomakromolecules and DNA. There will be designed a suitable method of amalgamation, applicated on 64-electrodes chip system in the practical part. Several substances will be tested on amalgam electrodes and then the results will be processed and evaluated.
Design and testing of XRD holder for post-mortem analysis of li-ion battery electrodes performed in an inert atmosphere
Klvač, Ondřej ; Chladil, Ladislav (referee) ; Čech, Ondřej (advisor)
The work describes the design and manufacturing of a test device for post-mortem measurements of electrodes of electrochemical cells using X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. The theoretical part describes the diffractometer Rigaku Miniflex 600, for which the product is intended. At the same time, an overview of solutions in various applications is processed here in the form of a recherche. The practical part documents the current development of a new cell, on which tests were performed. Here is an overview of the influence of gases and insulating materials on the resulting data, especially distortion and attenuation. Subsequently, a new design with improved hermetic insulation and sample displacement error correction is described. The principle of operation of the manufactured cell, including the control unit and software, is elaborated in the form of technical documentation. Finally, the functionality is verified by comparing the diffractograms of the powder standards and the graphite electrodes.
Resistivity measuring workplace for composite materials
Kucharčík, Jan ; Barath, Peter (referee) ; Vognar, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on exploring the characteristics of carbon allotropes. On constructed workspace resistivity of bulk samples will be measured according to the pressure. In conclusion, results of the measurement and proposals to improve the accuracy of the measuring methods are described.
Electrochemical biosensor for glucose detection
Matula, Tomáš ; Majzlíková, Petra (referee) ; Prášek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis pays attention to electrochemical sensors for the detection of glucose. The theoretical part deals with the technology of thick film, their application and firing. It is further described electrochemistry, electrodes used in electrochemistry and analytical methods based on electrochemical reaction. End of theoretical part deals with electrochemical biosensors for detection glucose using special electrodes based on enzyme glucose oxidase. In the experimental part is processed amperometric measure for detection glucose using screenprinted sensors S10 and S8 with immobilized enzyme glucose oxidase. Next was studied effect of plasma, dissolved potassium chloride, storage, ascorbic acid and the reproducibility of the sensors.
Modification of cathode material based on nickel and manganese for Li-ion cell
Bukáčková, Ivana ; Vondrák, Jiří (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with cathode materials for lithium batteries with cell voltage approaching 5V. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the characteristics of Li-ion batteries, electrochemical reactions and properties of electrode materials. She also pays attention to the preparation and measurement of materials LiNi0,5Mn1,5O4, LiNi0,45Mn1,55O4 and LiNi0,55Mn1,45O4. Observed material was measured by electron microscopy, elemental analysis and galvanostatic method,
Study of active mass volume changes of lead acid battery electrodes
Nevoral, Miroslav ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with detailed study of influence of thurst on attributes of positive and negative electrode masses of lead acid battery electrodes with main accent on explanation of measured characteristics. Three kinds of electrode systems were put together and measured. Measured characteristics of changes of thurst power were recalculated during charging and discharging to changes of total thickness of system.
The influence of iron on nickel accumulator charging
Mičák, Tomáš ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Pléha, David (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is dealing with a problematics of iron influence on charging of accumulator, more precisely on its cathode. The theory describes comparision of an accumulators at our market, important properties of Ni-Cd accumulators, their function principle, events happening during charge-discharge cycles of Ni-Cd cells and measuring method that will be used to verify of the iron influence. The practical part deals with the influence of iron on the development of oxygen during process of battery charging, on how iron affects the potential shift of oxygen gassing and how temperature affects this event.
Electrolyzer for hydrogen production
Kunovjánek, Miroslav ; Knotek, Tomáš (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
The work is concerned with a production of hydrogen and oxygen through by the help of electrolytic process in a device called electrolyzer. The basis of the work is assurance of the best efficiency of this process by testing a variety of materials and surfaces of electrodes, and testing different types of alkalic electrolytes.
