Mortgage crisis in the USA and Europe and impact of ABS, MBS and GSE on the crisis

This thesis charts the evolution of US Housing financial system and housing market. The goal is to create a complex picture about wider circumstances and causes of the mortgage crisis. The first part describes the history of US mortgage market and institutions that operate on the market. The second part focuses on the securitization and entities that are in this process participating. It also explores the connections between individual participants. Thirt charter looks at the causes and entities that caused the mortgage market meltdown and examines thein motivation. The final part looks at the situation that occured after the bubble burst. Explores the trend of future regulation and mortgage market evolution.

European Low Cost Air Transport

The thesis deals with the issues of the low cost carriers and analyses the features of the European low cost airlines. It contains analysis of the differences between low cost airlines and traditional airlines and enumerates the fields where the low cost airlines reduce their costs. The thesis explains the impact of low prices of air tickets on services provided by low fare airlines. There is also a comparison of the air ticket prices and other fares among various airlines on selected route as well as reference to some failed and discontinued projects.

Transport Policy of Conservative Governments in Great Britain since 1979 to 1997

The diploma thesis analyzes the changes in transport policy during the time of Thatcher and Major conservative governments. It tries to answer why the traffic situation resulted in a permanent break with the concept raised in the 1940s by labour government. The changes are associated with principles of Thatcherism which also influenced the transport industry. The contribution of the work consists of creating a compact view of the privatization of bus and rail transport, including consideration and evaluation of options and results. Both the same and different elements of the privatization of two transport sectors are mentioned. Author uses information from contemporary sources obtained in the National Archives, London-Kew as well as modern literature and scientific studies.

Specific Problems Concerning Regulation of Network Industries

The thesis deals with the results of liberalization and deregulation of the electricity sector in the European Union with a special focus on creating the internal electricity market. The first part focuses on EU energy policy. The aim is to present the wide range of policies and measures that influence the development of the internal electricity market. High attention is given to legislative measures and their proper implementation by the Member States. The following section deals with the process of liberalization and deregulation with regard to specific economic structure of the sector. The adopted measures are framed in the context of the specific economic characteristics of the electricity market, which relate to the existence of the so-called natural monopoly. The third part is devoted to regulation, regulators and their responsibilities in the internal electricity market. It focuses on their powers, methodology and cooperation within the EU. In the fourth part the regression model was developed that assesses the impact of specific variables characterizing the changes occurring in this sector on the price of electricity in Germany, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Poland and Hungary.

Diversification of energy markets in Europe

This work deals with the process of the European energy market diversification. In the theoretical part it describes the regulation of network industries following the theory od natural monoply and it is confronted with explenations by various schools. In the next part, the process policy hormonisation of the EU is analyzed, along with other trends in its future development. The last part focuses on the slovak energy market and the changes it went through in the last 20 years.

Deregulation of rents, the effect of 2 specific cooperatives and the recommendations to the Czech republic.

The bachelor thesis deals with a problem of rent deregulation, which is currently in progress in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part we get to know what actually the regulation is and why the deregulation was launched in the Czech Republic. Further there are discussed the problems associated with deregulation, continued by the question of maximum and minimum prices and the general view of economic regulation according to particular economic schools. In the operative part, the bachelor thesis seeks to analyze existing data of 2 cooperatives, whereas one is a subject to the deregulation and the another one is not. In the end, the thesis seeks to give an economic advice, to analyze the advantages, disadvantages and potential deregulation. The thesis analyses not only the impact of deregulation on cooperatives, but also on the ordinary citizens.
