The aim of master thesis is to analyze the impact of electricity generation from wind on investment activities of CEPS's company, and also to assess the impact of these investments on the Czech economy. The work familiarizes readers with reasons for the development of the transmission system in the Czech Republic, with the concept of blackout and also with apparatus of assessing the impact of investment on the economy of the selected state -- input-output model analysis. The method used to obtain data for this work is based on the literature review, as well as expert advice on the input-output model, consultation with the experts in CEPS and the data provided by them. The theoretical part deals with Czech transmission system, and it is followed by the development of wind energy construction and the problems associated with it, with blackout and readiness of the Czech Republic to the possible failure in electricity supply. In the practical part, there are measures that are built in order to prevent the risk of blackouts in the Czech Republic, there is a more detailed examination of the Plan of development and rehabilitation of Czech transmission system, and there is also described the process of construction of analytical input-output apparatus for analyzing the impact of CEPS's development investments on the Czech economy, approximated by GDP.
The impact of the electric power outage in the Pardubice region
KRÁLOVÁ, Kateřina
The title of my thesis is The impact of the electric power outage in the Pardubice region. Danger, coming from prolonged power outage, as the one area of critical infrastructure, is large and has extensive implications, since electricity has been currently necessary for human civilization and its existence. In the Czech Republic, the critical infrastructure is addressed in Act no. 240/2000 Coll., on crisis management and amending certain acts, where the Council Directive 2008/114 / EC on the identification and designation of European Critical Infrastructures and the assessment of needs to improve their protection was applied to this law. I decided to write a thesis about the impact of a power outage, because I have been very interested in the issue of blackouts and I think it is a very important up-to-date topic. I chose the area of Pardubice region because I come from this region, so I am personally attached to this area. In the first part, I decided to introduce critical infrastructure, its legislative grounding and protection, there is also description of electrical energy, its production, transmission and distribution. Finally, I dealt with replacement power sources, energy security and blackout in the theoretical part. I used basic scientific procedures: analysis and synthesis or induction and deduction for the needs of my thesis. The aim of the thesis, was to use research part to map the effects of the power outage in the Pardubice region. I chose a qualitative data collection and interviews with experienced professionals in the crisis management as a method of my research. The research question was: "Which of the consequences of the power outage is essential to conversely marginal?". The evaluation of the research was done by SWOT analysis, which identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the Pardubice region in the event of a power outage. The results of the thesis will be provided to the Fire Rescue Service of the Pardubice region, which can use these data in crisis planning. The thesis will also be used as study material for students of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.
Possible impacts of terrorist atack for economics
Babouček, Petr Ing. ; Musil, Martin (advisor)
Consequences of blackouts on agricultural farms of South Bohemia
PARLÁSKOVÁ, Lucie
Electrical energy plays an indispensable role in our contemporary society. However, we mostly realize its position in agriculture in a situation which often already entails irreversible consequences. Therefore, the thesis aims to assess the consequences of power blackout on agricultural farming. In connection with the selected objective, a question arises whether long-term power blackouts also constitute a serious threat to agricultural farms of South Bohemia? The theoretical part briefly describes electrical energy, its production and method of transmission. It also includes basic elements of the power system including its stability and safety. The chapter also acquaints the reader with the critical infrastructure of the Czech Republic and its legislative base. Then, it globally analyzes the term blackout.Given the topic of the thesis, it is necessary to mention the valuable work of the integrated rescue system which in addition to the basic obligations to ensure the protection of human life and property is required to provide missions to rescue animals in emergency situations. Finally, this chapter deals with the application of electrical energy in agriculture, including the characteristics of surveyed farms and a high degree of automation used in farming. The research part is based on the search of the current state of selected agricultural farms. The research was focused on the South Bohemian Region which makes no exception in relation to this issue. Used for the research was a qualitative method of data collection with the information obtained through the techniques of controlled interviews and the secondary analysis of data provided by competent employees of farms in South Bohemia. The results are then outlined in two planes. During recent years, breeding stations have been completely renovated, especially in the section of technological processes. Modern electronic devices which include e.g. automated milking, feeding, suction and washing equipment, heating of service water and heating, should ensure trouble-free operation in such farms. However, what the vast majority of farms is not adequately prepared for is to ensure their smooth operation even during a failure of the electrical system. A number of farms do not have an alternate source of electrical energy. The percentage of self-sufficient farms having on its premises a pumping station that can supply the local diesel-aggregate, is also negligible. Moreover, in case of a diesel-aggregate failure, no alternative source is available. A crucial problem arises in the category of poultry. The animals are situated in large-volume halls where all processes are controlled by fully automated control systems. An alternative source of electrical energy is a crucial element needed to ensure normal operation of the farms. Unless the established criteria are in compliance (ventilation, lighting, etc.), reaction of the animals becomes evident within tens of minutes. Any deviation results in rapid loss of animals. It is assumed that the resulting data will be used both for research purposes in the area of secondary impacts in case of electrical system failures and for objective assessment of the effectiveness in farming security within the current methods. The purpose is to educate the above entities.
The impact of blackout on South Bohemia region
SMEJKAL, Pavel
The thesis is concerned in problem that can occure after a blackout. The South Bohemia region was chosen as the area of blackout impacts. The theoretical part of the work describes a critical infrastructure, whose part electrical energy is. It also learns about the electricity supply system in the Czech Republic and explains what is considered to be a blackout. The research is made in two levels. First there are processed baground researches of selected blackouts in the world and consequently the impacts of possible blackout in the South Bohemia are examined. The method of guided interview was used to make a questionnaire. The guided interviews were made with a few specialists. The questionnaire results are analysed and the possible consequences of blackout in the South Bohemia region are described. The main purpose of the work was ? The description of a blackout in the South Bohemia region?. The aim was fulfilled and a blackout in the South Bohemia region was described. The thesis worked with two hypothesis. The first one was ?A blackout strongly influences the population? a this hypothesis was proved by my research. The second hypothesis sounded ?Electrical energy is a strategical part of a critical infrastructure in the South Bohemia region?, and this hypothesis was also proved on basis of my results.

Blackout and Its Impact on the Emergency Medical Service
BÖHM, Pavel
At present, due to the use of different technologies, it is hard to think of any human activity that does not demand electric power. It is necessary to be prepared for of large-scale long-term blackouts. Possible scenarios of the occurrence of such a crisis situation must be analyzed and the crisis management must be prepared; primarily to minimize the impact on the lives and health of the population, their property and also natural environment. The objective of the thesis was to identify the operational readiness of regional centers of Emergency Medical Services in the Czech Republic for the possibility of blackouts and to create a survey of power supply possibilities to the operating center of the Emergency Medical Services. The questionnaire was focused on the analysis of operational readiness of regional centers for total blackout, on the framework of their technical support in alternative energy production and its time sustainability. The documents analysis included a pattern plan of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic and an operational plan for the occurrence of a crisis situation - large-scale electric power supply disturbances, and other internal regional documents concerning the situation during a blackout. The outcomes of the thesis can be used as a background material for the comparison of emergency blackout preparedness in international environment. They can be used to achieve certain standards in the field of sustainable alternative energy supply of Emergency Medical Services centers.
Long-term Electric Power Failure in the Czech Republic
KADLECOVÁ, Zdeňka
The electric power is one of the key products without which functioning of our society would be hard to imagine. The electricity distribution network is an interconnected system comprising of a manufacturing part producing electricity from various sources, a transmission system of conductors and equipment, distribution systems of high and low voltage, and of technical control stations suitably distributed to control the whole network. Energy security means ensuring continuity of necessary supplies of energy and energy services to accommodate the protected interests of the state. A long-term electric power failure may have serious consequences for the state security, for providing for basic subsistence needs of the population, individual?s health or the state economy. For their maintenance under ordinary as well as emergency conditions it is particularly necessary to ensure functioning of critical infrastructure. The aim of this thesis is to examine the level of preparedness of the subjects within the critical infrastructure for a long-term interruption of electric power supplies and to create a draft of an emergency preparedness plan of a subject within the critical infrastructure focused on a long-term electric power failure. The research part of the thesis has two parts. The first part includes processing and analysis of the data acquired though a questionnaire survey. The second one presents a draft of the emergency preparedness plan of a subject within the critical infrastructure. The results of the questionnaire survey showed a good readiness of the critical infrastructure for a long-term, extensive electric power failure, which confirms the set hypothesis. The thesis introduces the public, particularly the subjects of the critical infrastructure, to the possibilities of occurrence of long-term, extensive electric power failures, with available prevention of such emergency situations and their preparation, planning and solving. The presented emergency plan draft should help with preparation of an emergency readiness plan of a subject within the critical infrastructure, including outlining the ways to solve emergency situations that may arise in relation with a power failure, and thus to improve protection of the critical infrastructure elements.
