On the milling of refractory ceramic materials
Reiter, Milan ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on machining of refractory ceramics materials. The theoretical part describes the division of ceramics materials, their structure, manufacture and properties. This part also contains the division of refractory ceramics. In the second chapter, of ceramics materials are described machining. The latest chapter is focused on analyzing the machinability of ceramics materials R - SLI - K. During the experiment, cutting conditions were changed and cutting forces were checked. Then surface roughness was measured and tool wear was observed.
Machining of titanium alloys
Kinc, Jiří ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis describe titanium and titanium alloys from the perspective of charakter, production and use. Thesis gives information about difficulty connected with machining titanium by basic machining methods. Titanium alloy Ti6A14V was turned in practical part. Intention was to measure cutting force and specific cutting force.
On the cutting performance of selected HSS drills
Med, Slavomír ; Dvořáková, Jana (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis aims on a twist drill. In the theorical part characterizes the parts of drill bit and presents its fabrication from fabrication of cutting material to coating. This part finishes by description of contemporary methods of measuring of cutting performance. The main goal of this thesis is to propose and realize measuring of cutting performance of which results we can compare selected HSS drill bits and recommend them to practice. The tests are described in the practical part which contains the evaluation of results too.
On the testing of new cutting inserts performance
Kašpar, David ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The thesis is focused on bar peeling method which is used to eliminate surface defects of rolled and forged cross-section circular products. The theoretic part deals with bar peeling processes. In the practical part are performed short-term tests of current types of inserts, evaluation and identification of their shortcomings. Short-term tests of new types of inserts are also performed and evaluated. For the final testing in operating conditions, which is then performed are recommended the best inserts. Suggestions for improving production are also included.
Testing of cutting parameters for UMCo50 machining
Jakubec, Thomas ; Kolomý, Štěpán (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the machinability of materials, the theoretical part describes the factors that have a dominant influence on machinability. The basic aspects according to which the machinability of the material and the wear of the tool are determined are also given here. The distribution of cobalt alloys is given here, including the UMCo-50 alloy, which is the subject of experimental research. It is an alloy for high-temperature use with good abrasion resistance and is used especially where other materials lose their mechanical properties due to the high temperature. The practical part followed the thesis of my colleague Ing. Peter Prno [1], which due to lack of time could not measure all the necessary quantities, resp. course of back wear for the remaining two cutting speeds. During the experiment, the wear of the tool back was monitored as a function of time at different cutting speeds in turning technology. The main goal was to determine the resulting tool life at the remaining cutting speeds and thus obtain a more accurate Taylor dependence. The turning forces, the quality of the machined surface and the formation of chips were also monitored during turning.
Machining of vulcanizing molds from aluminum alloys
Kaška, Zdeněk ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the issue of deep drilling of vulcanization molds from various aluminum alloys. The work will describe a brief description of machined materials and tools for deep drilling, including the production of the vulcanization mold itself. Based on experimental measurements, the analysis of data and knowledge gained from deep drilling of aluminum alloys with different silicon contents will be performed. In the end, the individual components of force loads for both machined materials will be compared
Inconel 718 machining for aerospace applications
Urbánek, Vojtěch ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is aimed at exploring the properties, usage and issues with milling of the Inconel 718 for aerospace applications. In the theoretical part a study of superalloys and their properties for successfull application in aircraft engines was conducted. Further the machinability classes, cutting materials and process of milling focusing on milling of the Inconel 718 are described. The experimental part deals with measuring and evaluation of cutting forces when milling the Inconel 718 with cemented carbide and ceramic cutting tools.
Optimisation of Selected Technological Processes in the Production of Bearing Components
Otoupalík, Jan ; Čep, Robert (referee) ; Sadílek, Marek (referee) ; Kouřil, Karel (referee) ; Chladil, Josef (advisor)
The dissertation is focused on the optimization of technological processes in the production of the outer bearing ring. The first part of the research was focused on the latest trends in the production of bearings. In the experimental part the technological processes of production were analyzed from the choice of the semi-finished product to the optimization of finishing technologies for machining the outer diameter of the bearing ring.
Factors affecting the quality of machined surfaces after milling operation
Černý, Libor ; Jaroš, Aleš (referee) ; Fiala, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the final quality of the surface under variable working conditions during milling. The first part deals with the definition of qualitative parameters describing surface properties. This is followed by a brief description of the cutting resistance measurements. The thesis is complemented by experimental verification using front milling and its evaluation. The aim of the experiment is to determine the dependence of the surface quality and the size of cutting resistors under the variable working conditions of the machine that do not make a common part of the manufacturing processes.
Machining of titanium alloys
Müller, Peter ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis specifies the most important properties and production processes of titanium, categorizes titanium alloys and their properties. In the experimental part, titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V blank was machined and cutting forces were measured, depending on selected feeds per revolution. Subsequently specific cutting force was calculated and compared with values given by the tool manufacturers.
