A Profile of Italian Working Papers in RePEc

This paper describes the results of an analysis of Italian Working papers (WP) available both in RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) and in Institutional Repositories (IR) and websites. Given that RePEc is a disciplinary repository based on the active involvement of economic institutions, rather than authors, our analysis intends to explore the institutions’ propensity for making their collections available both in disciplinary and Institutional repositories. Therefore, the paper provides a profile of the Italian Economics institutions participating in RePEc as well as an in-depth analysis of the their availability WPs and WP series. Moreover, IRs and websites of the Italian institutions participating in RePEc were analysed to compare the scientific contents available in these important sources of free access information (RePEc, IRs and websites).

An Analysis of Current Grey Literature Document Typology

This analysis is based on the classification of the international systems GreyNet, (the Grey Literature Network Service), OpenSIGLE, (the System for Information on Grey Literature in Europe), and the Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR), as well as focusing on national schemata in the Czech Republic, namely ASEP (Register of Publication Activity of the AS CR), NRGL (National Repository of Grey Literature), and RIV (Information Register of R & D Results). During the analysis of the lists of document types, we have discovered that these typologies contain, besides “real” document types (reports, theses, etc.) other aspects, such as events (arrangement, organization), types of events (conferences, speeches), producers (universities, institutes), processes (translations, output), content (political documents, legal texts), location (domestic, foreign), and format (e-texts, numeric data).

Vyhledávání v české šedé literatuře

Cílem příspěvku je představit vyhledávání v Centrálním vyhledávacím rozhraní Národního úložiště šedé literatury (NUŠL). Centrální rozhraní NUŠL nabízí intuitivní vyhledávání ve sbírkách více institucí najednou a je hlavním přístupovým bodem k hledání šedé literatury v České republice. NUŠL svým zaměřením doplňuje klasické informační zdroje a měl by být součástí rešeršních služeb v českých knihovnách. NUŠL se zaměřuje na odbornou šedou literaturu především z oblasti vědy, výzkumu a vzdělávání. Spolupracujícími partnery NUŠL a hlavními zdroji šedé literatury z oblasti vědy a výzkumu jsou Akademie věd České republiky, veřejné výzkumné instituce, vysoké školy, knihovny a muzea. Součástí prezentace bude on-line vyhledávání v Centrálním rozhraní NUŠL (http://www.nusl.cz).

Kriminalita dětí a mládeže na Českobudějovicku a možnosti její prevence /na školách (využití preventivních programů na školách)

Překládaná bakalářská práce měla za cíl teoreticky zpracovat problematiku kriminality dětí a mládeže se zaměřením na Českobudějovicko. Na základě informací získaných v odborné literatuře byly definovány základní pojmy dané problematiky, byly stanoveny základní faktory ovlivňující vznik a vývoj kriminality dětí a mládeže a byly popsány základní typy prevence. Praktická část předkládané práce byla zaměřena na získání aktuálních informací od zainteresovaných stran - tedy od školních metodiků prevence, učitelů a žáků na Českobudějovicku. Pro sběr dat byla použita metoda rozhovoru a ankety.

Grey literature: from hidden to visible

Grey literature is information produced on all levels of government, academics, business and industry in electronic and print formats not controlled by commercial publishing i.e. where publishing is not the primary activity of the producing body. (Luxembourg, 1997 - Expanded in New York, 2004, on WWW: http://www.greynet.org/index.html) The role of grey literature in today society was well expressed by Vaska: “It is therefore remarkable how efforts over the past two decades have altered originally preconceived notions of grey literature, resulting in a deeper understanding of how the formation, retrieval, and use of non-traditional material becomes a fundamental companion in one’s research endeavors. The advent and use of new technologies, a prevalent trend in 21st century society, has created increasing awareness of the need to incorporate the grey alongside the white, a boundary that is becoming less distinct and which may become translucent in the not-too-distant future.” (Vaska, 2010) Centralized collecting grey literature started more than thirty years ago. During period 1980 - 2005 non-profit network EAGLE (European Association for Grey Literature Exploitation) created for the acquisition, identification and dissemination of grey literature SIGLE (System for Information on Grey Literature in Europe) database. Nowadays the GreyNet International is a leading organization in dialog, research, and communication between persons and organizations in the field of grey literature. Central access to grey literature is provided by OpenGrey database. OpenGrey is a unique repository providing open access to European grey literature references. OpenGrey is based on the OpenSIGLE/SIGLE database which contains almost 700 thousand records of grey literature. As a multidisciplinary database it covers Science, Technology, Biomedical Science, Economics, Social Science and Humanities. National Repository of Grey Literature will be introduced during the workshop as an example of grey literature on national level.
