Planar brainteasers and their application to increase mathematical literacy of special educational needs children
Brázdová, Barbora ; Dvořák, Petr (referee)
My thesis deals with different ways of use of Pentominoes and Tangram brain-teasers in teaching of mathematics to special educational needs pupils. In the theoretical part I introduced these brain-teasers, I explained affine mapping using their particular pieces, I analysed similar tasks in mathematics textbooks for 6 to 10-year-olds and pointed out the issues of special educational needs pupils. In the practical part I described a few lessons of experimental education with six pupils of practical basic school. In the first year we dealt with Tangram brain-teaser. We made the separate pieces of paper, we handled wooden cubes and used Tangram pictures for development of visual perception and approximation of affine mapping. The next year the pupils schemed out their Pentominoes cubes first and then they worked with them. They drew them in a grid, built pictures, played a game for two etc. At the end I summarised my thesis and I evaluated it.

Development of permanent grassland after sowing arable land
CÁBOVÁ, Lenka
Three unnamed locations were monitored in the eastern part of the Šumavské and Novohradské Foothills in the Southern Bohemia, the district of Český Krumlov. An arable land was grassed with permanent clover-grass mixture consisting of seven grass species and one clover species. The aim of my bachelor thesis was to evaluate the development of grasslands after sowing of the arable land. It was very interesting to see how the vegetation is getting involved with and gradually being enriched with other species. The average coverage rate of the herb layer, the average number of species in the herb layer and the average forage value were monitored. At the time of the phytosociological monitoring, the vegetation at the site was six years old at the location 1, or three years old at the locations 2 and 3. The phytosociological mapping was performed to capture the spring, summer and autumn aspect. By evaluating the results, it was found out that the oldest site 1 has the lowest coverage rate of grasses and a too high coverage rate of clovers and herbs. This site also shows the lowest average number of species and foraging value compared to other locations. All three sites have shown an enormous spreading of the dandelion in the vegetation. The coverage rate of the sown grass species decreased in almost all localities, except for the meadow fescue at the location 2 and the smooth meadow-grass on the location 1. The coverage rate of the sown red clover has increased only at the location 1. The total disappearance of Italian rye-grass from the vegetation was recorded at all three sites. The monitored sites are still very young, so we can expect a further stabilization and vegetation succession in approximately 10 years. It is evident from the obtained results that the species composition of the sites is influenced both by the manner of management (mowing), by the age of the vegetation, by its establishment and also by succession.

Evolution of olfactory receptors
Klempt, Petr ; Stopka, Pavel (advisor) ; Vinkler, Michal (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the largest gene family of mammals which encode olfactory receptors. Olfactory receptors fall in rhodopsin-like GPCRs subfamily, approximately 600 - 800 millions of years old. At least from this time, olfactory receptors play, as a part of one of the oldest senses (smell), fundamental role in detection of chemical cues from water or air. This work summarizes large repertoire of olfactory receptors and its changes during the evolution of important animal taxons with emphasis on number and fraction of functional and nonfunctional olfactory receptor genes. Those values are part of criteria used for olfactory ability of animals. Olfactory receptors are typically placed on surface of sensory neuron placed in olfactory epithelium, where they bind various odorants and triggers signal cascade which leads to neuron's membrane depolarization. Therefore, about one half of this work summarizes knowledge of olfactory receptor's molecular biology like their structure, main parts of signal cascade (Gαolf, ACIII, CNG channel, Ca2+ dependent Cl- channel) just as parts needed for steady-state establishment. Expression of olfactory receptors detected in amount of non-olfactory tissues (mussels, sperm, brain etc.), indicate possibly important biomedical roles of this receptors.

Nursing Care of the Patient after Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation
Jamrich, Lukáš ; Vaňková, Milena (advisor) ; Kočka, Viktor (referee)
Resume This bachelor thesis is a case study of nursing care of 84-year-old patient hospitalised for aortic stenosis. The patient was treated in Cardiocenter of the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady in Prague using relatively new technique - transcatheter aortic valve implantation. In the first part of the thesis are given information from anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, focusing on the heart and heart valves. In the section on pathophysiology are described cardiac valve diseases, with emphasis on aortic valve stenosis. Diagnosis and therapeutic procedures of the disease are described. The following are basic information about the patient and his health. Nursing part of the thesis describes the nursing process in accordance with the model Theory of basic nursing care by Virginia Henderson. According to this model nursing process for selected 84-year-old patient was compiled. This includes short and long term plan of care. Short-term plan of care is designed for the second day of hospitalisation, which is the day of the operation. Long-term care plan is set for a period of approximately 7 days. In the thesis is also mentioned patient 's social and psychology domain. The thesis deals with the education of selected patient, too.

Criminal Law and Euthanasia
Dřímal, Pavel ; Císařová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Vokoun, Rudolf (referee)
Euthanasia represents one of the most controversial topics around the world. As I mentioned in the first chapter there is no worldwide consistency whether to accept the idea of legalization Active Voluntary Euthanasia ("AVE") or not. The goal of this diploma thesis is not to persuade anybody. In approximately 60 pages of the text I am providing readers with some essential information about euthanasia in the Czech Republic. I am also trying to compare the foreign legal regulation of euthanasia and assisted suicide but theoretical ideas as well. The first chapter is mainly trying to capture the reader's focus and setting the theme of my diploma thesis. The second chapter of my thesis is called ,,The Term Euthanasia". This chapter provides readers with several definitions of euthanasia and Physician Assisted Suicide ("PAS") as well as some historic data. The act of euthanasia has its origin in Greek. First word euthanasia is mentioned in old Greek literature. The term euthanasia is composed from two Greek words. Eu which means good or normal and Thanatos which means death. The word euthanasia can be literally translated as a "good death". It should be mentioned that during the centuries the meaning of euthanasia has changed. Today's understanding of euthanasia is ending ones life in order to relieve...

Allori's Portrait of Maria de Medici in Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna
Kunešová, Veronika ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (referee)
Allori's portrait of Maria de'Medici in Kunsthistorisches Muzeum in Vienna SUMMARY The main theme of my thesis is a portrait of Maria de'Medici(1540-1557),which is now part of collections in art gallery Kunsthistorisches Muzeum in Vinna.Maria de'Medici is portray here in approximately fifteen years old,at that time she had already been betrothed to Alfonso II. d'Este and she had become Duchess of Ferarra. She died when she was seventeen years old, cause of death was probably malaria. Her premature death is probably the reason why we have so little mentions about her life.In my thesis I did not just occupy by the portrait, but I tried to evaluace it in relation to other portraits of women from the circle of florentine Medici court which Alessandro Allori created and in connection with Maria's life and era in which she lived.I devoted special chapter to Allori's creation of miniature portraits, which were very popular in florentine court of Cosimo I. de'Medici. Alessandro Allori was one of the most important artists in Florence in second half of sixteen century.Since his youth, the Medici in Florence set him important contracts and in 1572 after his master's death he became the main court artist of Medici florentine court. Therefore I include the important milestones in life and work of Alessandro Allori in my...

Wall Paintings in the Church of St Clement at Levý Hradec
Keprt, Vratislav ; Kubík, Viktor (advisor) ; Ottová, Michaela (referee)
Keprt_abstrakt v AJ.txt Anglická anotace Medieval wall paintings in the St. Clement Church at Levý Hradec Wall paintings in the St. Clement Church at Levý Hradec depict a cycle with motives from the lives of Christ and Virgin Mary portrayed in two stripes, located at the walls of the pentagonal presbytery, each approximately 170 cm high. The iconographic programme decorating the choir in the severies is enriched by depictions of the Early Church Fathers, Old Testament prophets, the evangelists, and angels carrying Arma Christi. In the context of Bohemian monumental painting, the wall paintings at Levý Hradec are important because they complement and enlighten our knowledge of artistic development of the period between the 1370s and 1400. This thesis uses the methods of stylistic and iconographic analysis to place the studied paintings into the context of the artwork of the given period. After reviewing existing literature and researching relevant analogies to individual motives and scenes, the thesis outlines the importance of the paintings against the background of other works created in the Bohemian and central European area in the given period. Towards the end of the 14th century, the right of patronage to the St. Clement Church belonged to the Benedictine convent to the St. George Church at Prague...

Nature opium abusing in Olomouc and Prostejov Regions ? questionnaire study.
Kučeravcová, Jitka ; Klusoňová, Hana (advisor) ; Kračmarová, Lenka (referee)
My diploma thesis concerns the problems with the natural opium abuse in Olomouc and Prostějov region. It is based on the questionnaire analysis, which was held in The Contact Centre Walhalla and The Contact Centre Želva in the period from May to July 2006. 32 clients from the both contact centres took part in this resarch (20 from Olomouc and 12 from Prostějov). Only those clients with the experience of opium abuse were added to the group of respondents. After having analysed the results, we found that the average age of Olomouc (OL) users is 25,6 years and of Prostějov (PV) users it is 24,4 years. More than a half of them are men. 36% of clients from the both centres said that they live alone. A half of OL clients have only primary education, a half of PV clients are trained. 35% of OL clients were out of work, whereas 25% of PV clients were employed. 73% of all clients were checked on hepatitis with negative result. The majority of all clients were tested on HIV with negative result in all cases. 31% have been treated from drug dependence before, now it is only 7%. The spectrum of abused drugs is relatively wide. The first illegal drug was for 77% of all clients THC and it was when they were approximately 14,9 years old. The most favourite drug is for 40% of Olomouc clients pervitin, on the other...

Occurrence of elm trees in Novohradske Mountains and in parts of the surrounding foothills (history and today)
SROGONČÍK, Jakub
The aim of this thesis was to find out and map the occurrence of elm trees in Novohradske Mountains and in parts of the surrounding foothills. There is a natural occurrence of Wych elm (Ulmus glabra) on the respective territory which was confirmed by my research. I also managed to find six Field elm trees (Ulmus minor) that are not to be found on this territory naturally. A natural occurrence and purposeful growing of Wych elm tree (Ulmus glabra) is also proved in historical records dating as far back as 17th century when the respective territory was part of the Buquoy manor. During my field research I was able to find 40 localities with altogether 783 registered elm trees with the height of over 3 m. Researching the records of Forests of the Czech Republic, State Enterprise I also managed to find 10 more locations where I could register only 12 grown elm trees, since the remaining approximately 580 elm trees up to 5 m of height have been planted in the last decade and their numbers will be changing in the following decades as a result of 4 silvicultural measures. It mostly concerns elm trees that can be found in plastic protection or surrounded by forest fences against animal gnawing. It is interesting that there are several over aged specimen mostly in old alleys on the respective territory and all other elm trees do not exceed the estimated age of 50 years.
