The most important Toraja rituals and their current form
Budiman, Michaela ; Oberfalzerová, Alena (advisor) ; Dubovská, Zorica (referee) ; Remešová, Blanka Michaela (referee)
The presented doctoral thesis called The Most Important Toraja Rituals and Their Current Form deals with the ethnic group of Toraja, who inhabit the province of Tana Toraja, located in the southern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The work presents Toraja culture with a focus on two of the most important rituals - funerals and weddings. The goal is to outline the original form of these rituals and to capture the major social and religious changes in Toraja society since the Dutch missionaries first entered the area of present day Tana Toraja at the beginning of the 20th century. The Dutch introduced Christianity to the Toraja people, who until then adhered to their autochthonous religion Aluk Todolo. Almost all of the Toraja people gradually converted to Christianity, though they did not fully leave behind their original customs. In this work, I advert to how much the newly accepted Christianity influenced contemporary Toraja rituals, with an emphasis on the shift in their form and meaning. The work is based mostly on the field research; I implemented the method of concentrated observation. I also conducted and recorded many interviews with local people. After returning from the field, I analysed all of the collected text, voice, and video materials. Based on its analysis and the specialized...

Integration of Students with Physically Handicap into the Primary School from the Viewpoint of their Classmates
DOLEŽALOVÁ, Jitka
In its theoretical part, the thesis, which deals with the integration of physically handicapped pupils into the primary school from the viewpoint of their classmates, focuses on the concept of integration itself. It also lists factors that influence school integration and {--} last but not least {--} describes present legal regulation of school integration. The practical part contains brief case studies of individual physically handicapped pupils in whose classes the research was carried out. The results of questionnaires and their evaluation are presented here too. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the attitudes of primary school pupils towards their physically handicapped classmates. The thesis also tries to formulate its own recommendations and proposals for future improvement of integration. Two hypotheses have been postulated. The first says: ``Physically handicapped pupils enrich their classmates by both their presence in the class and their specific view of the world, which {--} on the other hand {--} strengthens the handicapped.{\crq}q The second hypothesis reads as follows: ``Healthy pupils establish spontaneous contacts and relations with their physically handicapped classmates.{\crq}q Both the hypotheses have been proved. To prove the hypotheses, the method of quantitative research was used. Data were collected through questioning. To get necessary data, a questionnaire, which was anonymous and voluntary for respondents, was prepared. This bachelor degree thesis could be used as an information material for headmasters /headmistresses and for the parents of ``healthy{\crq}q pupils in the situation when a handicapped pupil is being integrated into the class. It will enable them to look at the whole issue from the viewpoint of those whom the integration process immediately concerns to.

Succession after reintroduction of grazing in dry grasslands
Fulínová, Martina ; Hadincová, Věroslava (referee) ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor)
Grazing management is very popular nowadays and number of sites with grazing animals with the aim of restoring the sites is steadily growing. All the effects of grazing on grazed grasslands are not elucidated yet. This thesis focused mainly on the contribution of zoochory to restoration of species rich grasslands on stands cleared from Robinia pseudoacacia and stands cleared from Prunus spinosa brushwood. For the purpose of monitoring changes in vegetation, permanent plots have been established. In order to identify sources of new species occurring in permanent plots, inventory of species growing in neighbourhood of the permanent plots has been done, samples of soil seed bank, sheep buttons and seeds from sheep wool have been germinated in a greenhouse. Monitoring of permanent plots showed reduced regrowth of R. pseudoacacia and P. spinosa. We have also found that greater changes in species composition occurred in more degraded stands than in stands better-preserved. Germinating experiments proved soil seed bank being mainly the image of aboveground vegetation with minor importance to restoration of species rich grasslands. On the other hand sheep seem to be of great use for dispersal of seeds both by epizoochory and endozoochory when walking between different stands. This finding is of great importance for...

Physiotherapist - patient relationship
FORMANOVÁ, Miroslava
The bachelor´s work The relation between the patient and the physiotherapist engages in the character of this relation, how both sides evaluate it and the factors influencing a good relation. The aim was to monitor what the relation means for physiotherapists and patients, to describe some important aspects and factors that can influence it. The theoretical part is focused at psychology and communication in medical care, further at specialities of treating children, seniors, worried and aggressive patients. The work explains the meaning of words like empathy, cooperation, burnout syndrome and other aspects which may influence the patient ? physiotherapist relationship. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first one contains dialogues with patients undergoing some therapy. The second part presents interviewing some physiotherapists. The dialogues are half-structured and subsequently processed with the help of qualitative analysis - the answers to the research questions are then obtained. The results prove that a good patient ? physiotherapist relation is essential for quality physiotherapy care and substantially influence it. Reciprocal trust is necessary: the patient´s confidence in the physiotherapist´s ability and readiness to help, and the physiotherapist´s trust in the patient´s good will to contribute to the improvement of his/her health condition. The relation is influenced by the physiotherapist´s communication skills, which have to be adjusted to each patient´s individuality. Other factors like the sex and the age can influence the relationship, too. The outcomes of the work may be useful for students and medical workers. They offer the insight into how some patients and colleagues think, which may be inspiring for them.

qualities and skills of nurses from the perspective of nurses and patients
FIEDLEROVÁ, Miroslava
Nursing develops and becomes a field with scientific base and well-educated employees. Thanks to that, nursing care is safer and of better quality. Nurses obtain prestige, importance and autonomy. The aim of this thesis is to map haw the nurses perceive their the features and skills and what is the view of patients of the same features and skills of nurses. The research was performed using the quantitative method in the form of a non-standardised questionnaire. The research was aimed at opinion of nurses and patients and so the first research set consisted of general nurses and the second set consisted of patients of hospital wards and ambulances. There were used two types of questionnaires ? one of them designed for general nurses and the other one for patients. The questionnaires contained identical questions so as we could perform a comparative analysis of answers from nurses and patients. The data analysis proved that general nurses assess their practical and communication skills better than the patients. It was also established that patients consider the communication skills of nurses to be the most important skill, while nurses stated for their practical skills to be the most important part of nursing care. When comparing the results, significant differences were established in answers of both of the groups. It concerned mainly the field of communication skills of nurses. The patients selected negative answers to questions whether nurses ask the patients for their opinions and whether the nurses know how to communicate with families of nurses. The negative findings confirmed that the communication field remains to be a problem in nursing and that more attention should be paid to it. It is significant to train the communication skills of nurses.

Ischemia-reperfusion injury in lungs after transplantation and the role of radical oxygen species
Mrázková, Hana ; Lischke, Robert (advisor) ; Třeška, Vladislav (referee) ; Kittnar, Otomar (referee)
 Keywords: Lung Tx, EVLP, NHBD, IR injury, ROS, hypercapnia, gender differences This dissertation thesis deals with a very topical issue of the lack of donor organs for lung transplants. As with other organs, the number of patients on waiting lists in terminal stages of their diseases is also constantly rising but there is not an adequate increase in donor organs. We focused our experimental work on the development of research concerning the solution which is most successful in a long-term perspective, i.e. organ transplants from non- heart-beating donors (NHBDs), in an ex vivo lung transplant protocol (EVLP) on an animal model (Wistar rats). This is a method which is clinically established worldwide (in the Czech Republic only experimentally) and is constantly subject to further research. Based on earlier studies, we focused the first experimental part of this work on the potential protective effect of hypercapnic ventilation on ischemia-reperfusion (IR) lung injury in EVLP. The study proved that the hypercapnic ventilation has a protective effect on the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in IR lung injury, but only when used in the period of reperfusion. In the second experimental study, we followed up a very topical issue of the effect of gender on IR lung injury in EVLP in...

Permeation in vitro study of transkarbam 12 stability in oleocremes.
Nedbálková, Iva ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Berka, Pavel (referee)
The work extends the original method of biological titration with the concrete assessment of the stability of an active form of T 12 in two creams of functionally usable composition. The work compiles basic information on the skin barrier, chemically modulated penetration of drugs through the skin, especially transkarbam 12 (T 12) as an accelerator. Its influence on the permeation characteristics of caffeine as a marker is a basis of the experiment itself. The principal experimental results have been obtained by measuring of in vitro (pig skin ear samples) fluxes of caffeine dispersed always in 1% concentration in hydrophobic creams containing 0.2% and 0.4% of T 12. The average results of the pertinent fluxes were for the 0.2% cream J = 6,4 ± 2,0 in one week after manufacturing, and J = 7,2 ± 2,3 in 210 days after manufacturing. Analogical values for the 0.4% lotion were J = 6,7 ± 1, in one week after manufacturing, and J = 5,5 ± 1,2 after 165 days after manufacturing. The evaluation of these results by non-pair t-tests with the level of reliability of 0.95% has proved that the permeation characteristics of both creams (with 0.2% and 0.4% of T 12) in the scrutinized period (210 days or 165 days, respectively). It is thus possible to treat them as equal from the permeation point of view, and the...
